The park is not very mobile. And they do have competition from two other parks. So they’re going to keep Disney going in Florida for the foreseeable future. They are certainly going to outlast the Santos.
Having our business here for the past 6 years in Orange County and with the way things are heading in this state with this governor, we're definitely thinking of relocating our business outside of FL.

@@chadleach6009 So far, 9 states have offered deals to Disney for them to build their new park in their state. All of them are better for Disney than the agreements they had in Florida. When the governor of a state uses the power of the state to attack a business because of his tantrums, other businesses start looking elsewhere. Attacking Disney means every other company looking at locating in Florida will stop and reconsider.

Awsome, Disney has worn-out its welcome in Florida years ago. This California company has taken advantage of us in Central Florida for 60 years, and long-time residents and natives like myself are very well aware. Disney could pack up, leave tomorrow, and we would be better off.

Not really it's due to the massive financial losses experienced. Ticket sales have dropped off sharply. Cost of running the parks are skyrocketing and many of the workers are in jail for child sex trafficking.
Ron DeSantis was able to get the Florida legislature to change the state's Constitution to allow him to run for president while remaining governor. Don't put it past him to try to get the legislature to give him unlimited terms as governor if he can't make it anywhere else.
As an outsider (Michigander) who is observing the current state of Florida's politics, I had a strong feeling that Governor DeSantis would eventually cost the the State of Florida economic opportunities and investments. I would not be surprised if at some point in the future that there is a call to boycott Florida.

When the economic downturn occurred in the great recession Gov. Scott was reduced to hyping job creation by attending WAWA openings. Those jobs RD tossed away were six figure incomes. Having studied NLP and have learned to pick up on subtle body language cues that contradict what people say. When he says "I believe we will be OK at the end" he shakes his head "No" but either realizes that and tries to change it because he moves his head in a circular motion after that. Now what does that mean? is he lying? NO... is he trying to hide his true feelings? more likely. I think he is concerned about Disney moving but he can't let thousands of residents know he is or has some concern which is smart. There is way too much uncertainty and time ahead to even entertain the idea of a Disney move if it were to happen but his body language does tell his concern.

Same thing with stock; companies can't just say stuff it has to be supported. 2nd: already 200 of the 2000 people moved to Florida. 3rd; Disney moving is financially beneficial. Florida offered them tax credits as incentives. Although DeSantis says if it's a privilege "like those tax credits" then he can take them away if Disney doesn't say what he likes. See? another example of a privilege that can be weaponized; that's why DeSantis will almost certainly lose the case.

The lake Nona project was dead before it ever started. Disney tried to get a Studio presence here in Florida once before shortly after the Hollywood Studios opened here at Walt Disney World. The lake Nona project as i understand it was to move film and animation talent here from California. Well, Newsflash, People working in film and animation are not giving up their friends, lifestyles and contacts to move to a third world country like Florida. and Bob Igor Knows it. He can put whatever spin on it he can think of. He would throw his own employees under the bus if became necessary and about money, Gay or Not. Being a CEO in America takes someone without integrity to be successful. But he isn't stupid enough to gamble a billion dollars on a what if project.
They had already moved some people to Florida from California, who were working in smaller offices. Not everyone would want to do that, but there is animation talent all over the country and plenty of people willing to go to Florida just for the opportunity to work for Disney. It really isn’t a serious problem. If a job posting was placed from Disney for animators and other staff, they would receive thousands of applicants. I work in finance and I know how many applicants I have been sent for job openings. Hundreds, for relatively basic jobs, in the Midwest.

I wouldn't build anything new in Florida, just do the up-keep. I would start building a new and similar park somewhere else. Make it better than the one in Florida, make the tickets cheaper too. The checks and balances is called capitalism. If people didn’t like what Disney was doing, they could chose to not spend money with the company. If most people felt this way, the business would lose money, resulting in a change in practices. That is how unregulated business works within capitalism, which is what I believed that republicans claimed to want.

They don’t have to move everything immediately, but they could absolutely build a parallel park somewhere else while still operating in Florida for the time being. Once the new park is completed, Disney can demolish the Florida resort and just build a gigantic park. For reference, the state of GA would PAY Disney $5 billion per year to build a new park.
