yes it does the only thing that changes is the head room so the clean channel at volume 5/6 becomes a crunch. other than that great amp for gig

I got one of these and it does high gain/metal very well, but then I class bands like Mastodon and Neurosis as high gain/ metal - this thing does those tones brilliantly!

Why has this video already two dislikes? This is a great demo with one of the best sounds i've heard in the Andertons demo's. Ofcourse with all the great playing... Hmm, mystery:-P.

There are other reviews of this amp that show it's clean side much better. It's a really good clean channel as well.

Hey Chap! Great vid as always. I had a question regarding the mics. I've only been playing a year and a half and not very experienced yet. I was wondering if you could explain what effect mic placement can have on your sound when placed at different locations on the cab?

@gwanksta Yeah! The Cab has 2 different types of speaker in there, I was hoping to do a section focusing on each of the speaker but I had to rush to get this audio done before I went into hospital so I ran out of time. If your still interested I could put a couple of files up on SoundCloud for you hearing each speaker on it's own, clean and crunch? Stick

@MrTorres7 I believe you can use it for metal if you want to be different. It doesn't always have to be Mesa rectifier to sound good with metal. Zakk Wylde ie uses the JCM800 with isn't a metal amp at all by itself. Just add a overdrive pedal and you can get any metal tone you want. And believe me you don't need a distortion pedal, overdrive will suffice.

Omar Rodriguez Lopez of the mars volta uses an orange th120 I believe. That guy is the king of effects, so If he can pull it off I'm sure you'll be fine. Happy camping (y)

Love all the videos. Dorje is amazing btw. I was impressed by Aeromancy. It's very progressive. Reminds me of Dream Theater to some extent with more rock influences. However though Chappers, give some more metal riffage/soloage. It's all rock/blues...

open back simply lets sound directly out the back, as well as the front. It fills a room better, since the sound is not as strictly directed as with a closed back.

@RobChappers Hey mate, Something makes me beg to differ. Wasn't the Thunder 30 and 100 voiced the same as the thunderverb and rockerverb? I'm not sure, I use my Dual Terror for prog metal so maybe I'm wrong!

Hi Guys, I have posted some audio samples of the two speakers in the cab, clean & crunch on the Maplewood Studio Soundcloud page, link is in the description. I am puzzled as everywhere states that the cab should have 2 V30's in it so I am getting this checked out to make sure we did not have a mod'ed cab (unlikely as it was taken from the store) or if something else strange happened. Either way, enjoy the audio and hear the difference between a Celestion G12 and V30. Stick

@gnrmanmatt Agreed, best tones for shure. I love my current amp to bits and i would never sell it but i have always hade the tunderverb in the back of my head, i so adore orange amps. DEF love this review, although, that Paul just sounds awefull, like the v more ( original pups? ). And thats strat OMFG thats just freaking awesome sounding, specialy at 05:00 !!!

What cabinet are you using? I'm currently looking for a cabinet to mix with TH100 head. What cabinet would you recommend to compliment the clean channel? (I'm aware the TH100 has the option for different watt outputs; 30, 50, 70, 100, but I'm hoping I can find a cabinet that can handle the 100 watts.)

Surprisingly I'm using the Orange Crush Pro 412 cabinet (the cheaper 412 Orange makes) and it handles my TH100 like a beast. Lots of low end, projection and I saved $500.

I'm pretty sure they did. I'm getting really tired of hauling my Marshall 1960a everywhere and I much prefer the sound of orange cabs. I'll keep an eye out for a Crush Pro :)
