My special needs son doesn't either. He is very fond of orcas all because of Free Willy he has deep love and respect for orcas and does not want them to go the way of the dinosaurs 🦕🦖 or the dodo bird 🦤. He wants their habitats preserved and protected and for all orcas to be fruitful, multiply, and fill the waters in the seas just like God said when he first created them ✝️🙏.
@@TeamYen ofcourse not. It's sad just like the creatures the sharks attack. But Orcas eat their prey. Sharks attack and sometimes just leave the wounded to die. Orcas are still angels they help humans and don't attack unprovoked.
@@violetlove1893 Sharks are just stupid fish, the instinct tells them to attack or not, to eat or not. And instincts often fail when faced with an unknown situation or creature. The orcas are very intelligent and act consciously - yet they can also sadistically play with their prey, especially mammals like dolphins and seals.
Wild and free, as they should be. I wonder how much the new borns weigh because I would be so tempted to pick them up and snuggle them. For research purposes of course.
300 to 375 lbs. And on average 6 ft long. There have been some who were only 5 1/2 ft long though. I agree with you. I'd like to give one a hug too. They're well guarded however by not only the Mother, but the entire Pod.
@@Bluenose352 Plus its's illegal to touch (harass) marine mammals. Humans can pass illness and viruses to them, which can make them very sick. Wild animals arent pets....they dont want your grubby human hands groping, hugging and poking them. Would you want a stranger grabbing at you without consent? Be respectful of their personal space.
The wales in the wild dorsal fins don’t calapps because they mostly swim in a straight line all the time and the ones in a pool go around and around. The weight of the water and going in a circle does it. I read that and it makes sense.
It's also because the pools are not deep enough and the overall temperature is too high. orcas are black at the top, once they surface too much and too long the sun heats their dorsal fin tissue up, it grows softer and eventually bends over. Notice that a bull's dorsal fin can grow up to 180 centimeters, that's a whole bunch of kilos fighting against gravity.
@@FeuerblutRM Their dorsal fin is made of collagen....so sunlight doesnt 'heat it up'. Captive whales fin collapses due to lack of water pressure and straight travel.
