Oregon Coast Crabbing - Catching Giant Dungeness Crabs

This was our crabbing trip back in July. The best time for catching crabs on the Oregon coast starts in September, but we did really well early in the season. We set our traps down in about 9-15 foot of water, and used chicken for crab bait.

Took a freind of mine 2 weeks ago to Newport to crab. We caught our limit in about 3 hours. Found if you go out the bay and make a left turn and go towards the shore, we got bigger and fatter crabs. Plus the inlet blocks the waves near the beach. Next time you go, give me a heads up. Would like to go crabbing with you and your group! I will bring my own boat!

Mr. PK hello, I always enjoy watching your videos. I love crabs and clams. Last year we went to Lincoln City and we did clamming and caught 1 crab which we cooked and ate at the beach. We are going back to Oregon next week. Where can we do crabbing and get those big clams? Hope to get tips from you. Thanks

Is there a reason why you are the only one to pull the traps? Just asking....

He's trying to video certain pulls. He usually lets others pull traps but you don't see them sometimes especially if they are newbies and can't pull an open trap fast enough. Also, If I had my gopro in my trap, ain't nobody but me pulling that one!

I was in Newport we did get some good crab not a lot we got some did enter your Perch on line, 21- 25 sep, we fished for hours nothing but one 6in did not put it in but that was all.

It's my last Lund. I was looking at a Alumacraft for my next boat if I were to get a new one. Or, even a Tracker Boats.

Will fish finder do anything for crabbing? If so, how to read the screen for sign of crabs? I saw you have recording arm on one of the pot. Looking forward for some underwater video :)
