This has helped a lot with how technical and blind this course is. Thank you!

Awesome, helpful video on a very complex challenging track.

Great video and well explained. I just spent the weekend at ORP, watching the cars on Saturday then my very first track day was Sunday and I rode my 1050 Triumph Sprint. I had a blast over the 4 sessions I was out. Now that I have first had experience on ORP clockwise this video now really makes sense to me. I don't think you would run this tract on a different line with a bike so this will translate well to study before my next event out there in July. Thank you I really appreciate i.

Great video. Going to ORP tomorrow. This helps a lot! And I watched the Ridge video too before I went there first time.

I was looking for a track guide for weeks leading up to the race this weekend. I wish I had seen this before going out on track for the first time under green racing!

This is a brilliant tutorial Carl! I think this format will serve a lot of viewers for many years. Most of your points are spot on and I really love your lines. I do have a slightly different opinion on the "corkscrew" section, AKA "The Half Pipe". You can actually take some of the berm on turn nine, and you can take *ALL* of the berm on turn 11 without unsettling the car at all. Cutting the apex of turn 11 gains speed down that straight. Last thing, T16 berms: I've braked on that T16 entry berm, and it can have considerably more grip than the tarmac - causing an inadvertent turn to the right when you press your brake pedal there. I also recommend avoiding the berm on the left when it's wet out. It's quite slippery and will suddenly shunt your car a good foot or so off the apex, which can be really startling to a newbie (which I was when it happened to me). Anyway, this is some really awesome & timeless content, Karl!

Taking the berm vs not really depends on the car setup was my point! My apologies if that didn't come through. I think you can see in the video, my car is quite unsettled in T10. T11 total fine thou, should have clarified that. Good call out.

Karl, do you think you might do a tutorial for CCW? About to do both CW and CCW for the first time in a couple of months

This excites me to try out ORP. Hopefully I can get out there soon enough. worst case, I will be out next year, but this will definitely add great prep before me going out there. Thank you! ;)

Thanks for the video! My 2-cents (I'm not a pro): I think at 12:18, you should go full throttle there, and in the worst case, if you miss the next apex, I don't think it's a big deal since it's just opening up to slower back to back corners. Check out 1:05 of this (old) video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SgzfskgOQlc.html And in the same way, T15, I think you can let the car miss that apex on a high HP car; you'll have space to get back in line before T16 : )

I watched your vid and the line you showed at 1:05 is what I was trying to capture. It's possible to send it way off to the top of the hill at the top of the corkscrew -- which is definitely slower imo. On T15 same thought. I think I have a vid in a GTI with more power and less grip and I let turn 15 wash like you suggested.

@@karltaht2370 I am an ORP club member (which you should definitely join as well), and we have open track days, where track is open 9-5 except for lunch. The next event is July 2/3/4; let me know if you'd want to join one of those days as my guest ($220 only); would be nice to compare lines and play. It will be too hot for anything else : )

Very well done Karl! Best track video I've ever seen. Good big picture + detailed views intermixed. I run with PNWR and we do back-back days CW and CCW so I'd love to see your CCW version...and the Ridge...and Pacific! Kudos!!
