Oregon hosted 5-star WR Dakorien Moore amongst a bevy of other recruits over the weekend. By all accounts the visit went well, but it still might not be enough to land the former LSU commit and current Texas favorite.

So Ohio States identity is rooted in defense this year correct? The identity change on offense was to accommodate the defense. Right? So I ask you what is Oregons identity? What will be the strength of our team offense or defense? Lanning is a defensive minded HC so you’d think the defense would be the strength at some point. At some point you have to play complimentary football..

Ohio States offense for 2024 is worse than the offense they had when they played Oregon last time and Oregon's defense in 2024 is much better than what they had back then. That is why I favor the ducks at home. CJ Stroud and three NFL caliber receivers and they still could not beat Oregon. This 2024 Ohio State team does not have that type of personnel. Their best shot will be to try to run the ball on Oregon with those backs. If the Oregon DL holds, this gave is a wrap.

I'm predicting a down recruiting year by Oregon standards. Why? I believe we are going to lose several assistant coaches next off-season, and I think the recruits know it

I’m not sure what jobs will open up that assistant coaches would leave for though, I mean Stein is probably the most likely but I don’t see him leaving for a G5 or even a Big12 team, he strikes me as a SEC/B1G coach, so save for Florida, who will almost assuredly fire Sun Belt Billy, I don’t know who would be looking for a new coach at a school Will would want to go to. I mean every school has to worry about losing staff to higher paying and higher caliber jobs, but I don’t think recruits think that far down the road.

We put up 318yds against UGA in the worst game I’ve seen Oregon play, since I saw Oregon play Boise state in 2009. I was at both games, and they were frustratingly bad because they were the first games for two first time HC’s-Chip Kelly and Dan Lanning. But this Ohio State game isn’t going to be that. So, with that said, Oregon will put up 150 more yards than their UGA game…which is a minimum of 475 yards against OSU. That would be approximately 275yds passing, and 200yds on the ground. And yes, Gabriel will be frustrating the Buckeye defense on the ground, like his game against Texas last year, keeping the chains moving. But I really think Oregon will move the ball at will. It all comes down to 1st down and getting 4 or 5yds, each time. If that happens, Oregon is going to move the ball like they did against Ohio State in the Natty, minus the drops that stopped what should’ve been a 21-10 lead. Anyway, I got side tracked. That’s my minimum…but if we get in a rhythm, I think Oregon will be putting up 550yds of offense…because they really want to spread the ball around. Lanning and Stein have explained what long plays can do to the winning percentages, if you hit at least 5 deep plays per game, it’s similar percentages to getting 2 turnovers on defense. So with that said, Stein wants to stretch the field, and go vertical…and Gabriel is a much better deep passer than Nix. Infact, in the same number of games, Gabriel was 1500yds ahead of Penix in his career yards…if that’s any indication. And Sidenote, Stein said last year, the only reason he wasn’t going to change the offense, was because Bo Nix was coming back for year 2. Well, expect that to change in 2024. He’s gonna majorly tweak the offense now that he doesn’t have a returning QB, so expect new plays and schemes. I’d say he adds 25-30% to the UO offense…getting rid of 25-30% of what hasn’t worked the last two seasons.

Also Oregon wins 45 to 21 with that offense output. Then wins bigten easily, then playoff game plus another national championship to. In reality don't be surprised if/when Oregon loses 2 is games this year. Plays good but not elite offense and improve defensely but still lose to Washington Ohio State and maybe Michigan. And fans still be making excuses like we were better than those teams not sure why we lost. Maybe because the fans and some coaches are high-minded

Recruiting question: How much do we want 5 star players at positions where we are deep? Georgia, Bama, Ohio St. have been able to stack them in the past, but in the NIL and tranfer portal era it seems like guys coming in with that kind of reputation are playing time hungry. I think we have been lucky with Dickey, and Kasper (though I'd like to see Kasper play this year) staying with us. But look around CF and you'll see lot's of guys transferring once they don't see the field enough year one. Is that the situation we want 5 star recruits in, or should we prefer to be patient and win them when they transfer?

A question for the burgeoning star of the Locked On Empire (seriously congrats on all the different channels they have you contribute to, it’s a hell of an accomplishment 💪): Should the Ducks live up to their mile high potential, they should find themselves deep into a playoff run, which could easily put Coach Stein on a short list for any head coaching vacancy, just like it did for Coach Dillingham. That being said, what do you see as the lifespan of any successful OC the Ducks bring in? Will any actually last for the length of a recruits college career?

But question do u think we are going after another QB in this 25 cylce (Even tho we have the legacy commit from Jr.) becuz Austin will follow Will Stein after next season?
