Yay for shrink wrapping. I would add a few of the pine scented icicles or something with a Christmas scent that you like (cotton balls with essential oils or sprayed with room spray, etc.) so that your tree doesn't end up smelling like plastic when you unwrap it next year. The shrink wrap can kind of marinate its scent into the tree and decorations.
Interesting idea! I like the cotton ball suggestion. In the years that we have done this, we have actually never had an issue with a plastic smell. My only concern with leaving wet oils and sprays in a shrink wrapped enclosure for a year is the possible humidity and bacterial growth that could come from that 😅
Your should always wrap your expensive glass ornaments in Acid Free Tissue paper. Regular tissue paper will eventually take off the paint and design, trust me I learned this the hard way. I bought a huge pack on Amazon. I purchased my ornament storage from Balsam Hill; their expensive but worth it.
Ok, so really cute video. Love the tips. Where are your likes ? This vid deserves more than 30 likes and 4 comments. Come on people, what are you guys watching????

Definitely a yay on him shrink wrapping that absolutely gorgeous tree. That idea is a game changer! Thank you for sharing your Christmas organizing tips. Plus I just love getting a glimpse at your ornaments and wreaths. So classic! ❤️
Hi, Tasha! I get all of my large ornaments from my shop in Houston. It's called Village Antiques. We're located at *1200 Blalock Rd **#350**, Houston, TX 77055* . Love your idea about storing wreaths vertically in a bin! I usually hang mine on a hanger and cover them with a clear dry cleaning bag, and then hang them from hooks in my attic. My way does work well, but I like having another option!
Your idea sounds good, too! Vertically storing wreaths is also worth a try if you ever want to switch it up or save a bit more space. It's just about finding what works for you 😊
It would be a nay for me. It is because I do not decorate my trees the same every year. I like to combine different colors and textures to make a “new” tree. And also, I don’t think it is that much work to take down ornaments and put them back in.
My BF and I keep a skinny tree at the top of the stairs, no ornaments, only lights. We pop it into a tall tree bag and put in the attic. We keep a small 3’ tree on the screened porch, lights and ornaments, and pop that one into a clear lawn and leaf bag. Other trees are disassembled and decorations stored separately.
He'll love to hear that you said that! It's fun to start from scratch, but it's also such a special feeling to unravel a beautifully decorated tree every year 😊
yay for bubble wrap. I am going to try this next year. I was trying to find a way to keep the decor on an just set it up the next year. Think I found it. Thanks for sharing.
It's such a genius time saver! There is one tree in my house that I have not redecorated in YEARS, and it's always a guest and family favorite. I'm glad you were able to find this video helpful! Please feel free to share with anyone you know who hasn't taken down their tree yet 🤗
I understand that! For me, I find that it doesn't actually take up any more room than storing it in a box. I'd suggest you give it a try at least once, and if it doesn't work for you, go back to the way you typically do it 🙂
When the container store, Walmart, Target, and craft stores don't have what I am looking for, I just search on Amazon for storage containers. I hope that helps 😅
I can understand that! With how much space all the containers can take up, that's why my husband just shrink wraps the whole tree 😅 Whichever method you use, you'll always need some space to store away your holiday decor. Just depends on your home and your preference ❤️
