Collections is the best way in LR to organize my photos.

I quite heavily use keywords, GPS and collections to sort photos with star ratings being used to assist in additional layer of searchability.

GPS! Yes. big fan of tagging so that you get those additional location keywords added to your photos.

Hi Toby. I also use the Star rating system. However, I organize differently. It's probably not for everyone but it works for me. I have the same naming convention for a parent folder, year, month, day, and a short description. After import, I create a subfolder named "All Photos" and move all my images into it. I then create another folder under the parent folder called "Edit". Images are moved here after culling. These are the ones I want to edit and are given a flag. Once I edit an image and I'm happy with it I give it 5 stars and move it to the parent folder. Now when I click on the parent folder after opening Lightroom I have all my edited photos in front of me and nothing else. I can easily click the dropdown and access the other folders. I really like your way of color coding images that you've already shared. I will be using that in the future. Thanks for another great video.

Mark - that's pretty nifty - using folders to create that hierarchy without even needing to filter. I like it! Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!

Toby...new subscriber here. I enjoyed this video and got some good ideas for organizing. Thank you. Question: what is that little pouch that holds your external HD? Thanks again
