I am an ER doctor. I am also an overweight female with endometriosis, so I totally understand the discrimination from personal experiences and evidence based data that women's pain is discounted. However, the fact that it took 3-4 years to make your diagnosis is obsurd. Seeing as the most common cause of abdominal pain in middle aged females IS cholelithasis/cholecystitis, you could honestly sue for neglance. You actually told the one ER doc that's what you thought it was, which is ironic. If anyone mutters anything to me about intermittant abdominal pain, they get ultrasounds, CTs, and an inpatient vs outpatient HIDA scan and/or MRCP. Sorry the medical system failed you, but glass it ended up ok! Glad to see you back!

I'm also a woman with endo and they diagnosed my endo surgically almost 10 years ago and I'm STILL battling with them to get help and I've seen so many doctors and they just want to put me on BC (which causes psychosis/hallucinations for me) They also tried to just put me on blood clotters and I have a clotting disorder because "it'll stop the bleeding that's so annoying" Yes I'm bleeding 60+ days at a time, but it's the PROBLEM I want to address, not the symptom

Great news. I had a stroke out of the blue when I was 47, doctor in the ER kicked me out of the hospital telling the police officer there that I was just after drugs. I lost my whole left side but I was able to recover with the help of good therapists. By the way I have never used drugs and had had a migraine for three straight days. If it hadn't been for my cousin and her EMT boyfriend making another doctor accept me back into the ER I probably wouldn't be walking today. Good for you ghoul for sticking up for yourself!

I am so happy for you! I am a nurse and when I worked bedside I told my patients that were frustrated with this broken system to be loud and annoying...don't apologize for advocating for yourself, be loud when no one is listening because YOU DO KNOW your body best. It is so frustrating! I was sick for 4 days last week, nausea, abdominal pain, no appetite and when I felt better I was so grateful and felt so much empathy for those people suffering with chronic pain and illness that never feel that relief again. So happy you are having relief, that you stood up for yourself, and that you are able to be you again!

Almost word for word what you went through with your gall bladder is exactly what I went through. No one would listen, ER would send me home with what was equal to a Pepcid. I kept telling them something was wrong for 7 months. Went the the ER one night and they admitted me, sent me to surgery all within 40 minutes because of the urgency to get my gallbladder out. I know what pain you were experiencing and I am so so glad you are better!!!!

Midge, first God Bless you for fighting for yourself! You are so blessed that your gallbladder didn’t explode and kill you!! My heart goes out to you!! I was overweight after a horrific car accident and on pain meds for several issues from that and one night I woke up and thought I’m dying I’m having a massive heart attack or it truly felt like labor which was not possible for me we rushed to the ER and they gave me a toradol shot and I felt relief but after a sonogram they discovered I had a ton of stones in my gallbladder and said surgery was going to have to happen asap and I was admitted and by the time the meds wore off I was dying now it’s 4am next day I’m taken off to surgery only to wake up and discover they had to cut my stomach open and literally pry the gallbladder out. My husband said to the doctor she’s gonna be ok right and he was so upset at my husband and said sir your wife is lucky to be alive right now! And crazy but my husband is a golfer and ran into a friend of his (doctor) at the cafeteria and told him why we were there and he said OMG your wife is the story was the story of the day here! He went on to tell my husband I had the best surgeon to remove my gallbladder and he hadn’t seen a surgery like this in 20 years. God was with me because my surgeon that was going to do it a fairly new surgeon couldn’t for whatever reason and that’s why they had me waiting until this surgeon was available. I know and feel you when you say because you’re over weight we are treated different!! And I was so much better afterwards just like you! I then decided I’m getting a gastric sleeve because I can’t do the weight thing anymore and even though there are 2 sides to these surgeries I’m telling you getting a gastric sleeve was the BEST choice I have ever made! Again so happy you are ok and we missed you BUT we all here love your content and I’m just happy to see your beautiful face again 😊

I love a spouse who fully understands that more stuff just means it’s time to get organization shelves. Storage racks will help so much and you can display the pumpkins at the top. On the health note, I was doubling over in pain after eating. My doctor told me it was from eating on an empty stomach… so breakfast essentially. Who doesn’t eat breakfast on an empty stomach? Turns out I was allergic to milk. It took years of testing, but never an allergy test, until I finally started a food journal and diagnosed myself. Yay healthcare.

I’m a palliative care and hospice nurse practitioner. Had an elderly lady who was suddenly not eating and had severe abdominal pain. Lost massive amounts of weight. She had chosen not to go to the hospital for her own reasons, but still wanted help. Her PCP refused to try anything when one medication didn’t work. We really thought she was dying. I put her on hospice, put her on two very basic medications-one to coat her stomach in case she had an ulcer and one for nausea. She was quickly fixed, came off of hospice, and last I heard was getting out in her garden to work. I’m not perfect by any means. I’ve made mistakes when trying to help people and made assumptions I shouldn’t have made about people, but I will always try to help my folks feel better in my limited capacity in their home. And if anything providers should listen to overweight women more. We want to fuss at people to lose weight because of the greater risk of health complications, but just ignore the health issues that arise. How does that make sense?

Story #1 - My neighbor spent months being treated for heart issues, lost 50lbs, changed diet and nothing was working..............ended up being his gallbladder and once he had it removed had instant relief. It could have burst during this time so he is super lucky. Story #2 -I almost died from my gallbladder as well, but thankfully they caught it in time. My gallbladder had actually died in my body and had so many tiny stones, it looked like it was completely filled with sand. I'm sooooooooo glad that they were able to figure it out and LISTEN to you.

I went to the er 4 times and they were so nonchalant about me being sick and in pain. Finally, the 4th time, the er doc was like "We're preparing you a room for emergency surgery". As someone who as firmly embraced a totes and boxes on shelves organizing system I have a suggestion thats saved me so much time over the years. I make labels from painters tape or masking tape. Each major item/type of item gets writen on a strip and the strip are stuck on like a list. If something more is added I can make a new label and stick it on. If something is removed I take that stip off and stick it on the bottom it its intended to come back so it can be reused or its just trashed. The tape can be removed farely easily without leaving any stickyness behind on any of the plastic bins Ive tried. It makes it easy to know at a glance exactly what is in each bin and is cheap to do. Also, anything that Im worried about that is particularly sensitive to humidy/suseptible to mildew I stick in one of those closet dehumidifiers. At first I thought that couldnt make such a difference and it was me being paranoid but when the following summer was very damp I was very because that thing filled up in a month and my stuff stayed prestine while another tote developed a smell.

Mine is the typical multiple doctor’s visits, not being listened to or taken seriously, bloods ‘normal’, constantly fobbed off as being depressed/anxious, but I KNEW something was majorly wrong. Turned out I had a rare and extremely aggressive form of cancer which, by the time I was diagnosed, had spread to my lymph nodes. Thankfully once diagnosed they went full on with treatment and I’ve now been cancer free for 12 years. It should NOT be so damn hard to get the help and treatment we need. 🤬 I’m excited for more spooky videos from you! Seeing your intro again made me so happy - it is the most perfect ever! ✨

I had the same thing happen to me but it only was a period of 8 months. I'm a fluffy girl and I was written off by the ER docs AND my general PT for too long even though I knew it was my gallbladder also. It's really frustrating to be in pain like that and not have people take you seriously and some think you're just "attention-seeking." I couldn't eat anything without severe pain and I would have random pain attacks at night in the am hours. Thankfully, all the guessing came to an end one night I went to the ER and my mother DEMANDED they run all the tests they could. Within a week of that night, I was in surgery and came out feeling right as rain. The difference in the way I felt before and after surgery was LEAGUES apart. I felt so much better, I was back at work the next day just because I was excited to feel normal again. 🤣😂 You definitely are not alone in what you experienced because there is unfortunately probably a LOT of stories just like this with other women. I'm happy you stood up for your health! I'm so sick of the medical gaslighting of women, especially us larger ladies, and of doctors NOT doing their actual jobs! I'm beyond happy that you're already feeling SO GOOD! And I loved this video... I love seeing all the amazing decor you have and I really want to see your tribute to Beetlejuice with the sequel coming out!

So glad you’re back! I kind of teared up a bit when you said to not give up on caring for your body. I have been dealing with something myself for the past three years with symptoms that leaned towards a scary diagnosis. After a trip to the ER, I learned that wasn’t the case which was a relief, but years later I still don’t have any diagnosis. Thanks for the push I needed and I’m glad you’re feeling great! 💕

So excited to see a video from you! I’m so sorry for all you’ve been through, and you’re right. You should absolutely advocate for yourself! You know your body better than anyone else. Often as women, especially, our symptoms are ignored, dismissed, over looked, and simply not understood. It’s so frustrating. I’m glad you have a solid medical team now that has and will help you. And I can’t wait to see more content - so glad you’re feeling better and can get back to being yourself and doing what you love! 🖤🎃

I'm so glad you were able to finally get treated. It is such a great feeling to finally get a diagnosis after years of pain and anxiety. I've had migraines since I was 9 years old. I didn't find a doctor that believed me until I was 23. I grew up being told that what I was experiencing was impossible and that it was just my anxiety when I would lose all function on the right side of my body.

Midge, I'm really sorry you've been going through all of this. I am a creative dealing with an undiagnosed chronic illness and have been living with chronic myalgia and fatigue for so long and it's getting worse every year... I'm painting my room as I watch this now and between taping I'm having to sit and catch my breath. My bloods are all normal at a glance but antibodies are high. Life is moving at a glacial pace because of how slowly I have to take things. It fudging sucks. BUT, I am really happy to hear your in a better space in making progress and finally being heard from your doctor. I finally found a doctor that is hearing me. It really makes a world of difference to get at least that. 🖤

Heeeey so, I know everyone on the internet wants to pipe in with what they think something is, but, be sure to ask your doctor about mold exposure in your system. Sometimes there are only certain places which can test for it. I used to have (still do, but much better than I dealt with for years) severe fatigue, I would fall asleep against my will constantly and be in a permanent state of fuzzy, buzzing fog that I could pretty much never shake, I did a sleep test and they couldn't identify anything wrong with me but at home I was sleeping so hard I was basically comatose. It was caused by my sinuses and mold exposure. Both in the house and outside, when I would do yardwork and like work in leaves and mulch. I hope you can find out what is causing your issues so you can move toward a sense of normalcy. It is seriously frustrating, I empathize.

Thanks Ninja. Rest assured it is not a mold issue. Though histamines can't be ruled out as a trigger. I hope you're in a good place with your wellness. 🖤

I’m so happy to see you up and about and feeling better. In the last few years, I’ve gotten diagnosed with many things I’ve been “chasing” for years and was dismissed time after time because I’m fat. Endometriosis, PCOS, hypothyroidism, etc. It’s total shit that it took 10 years to finally be listened to, but when you finally get just ONE person that will listen, it’s life-changing. You shouldn’t have to, but kudos to you for pushing and not backing down. You deserve to be happy and healthy. 🖤

At the very end of 2019 something happened to my stomach and I was nearly unable to eat, I lost like 50 pounds (weight and muscle) I couldn't do anything and anytime I ate it was like searing pain in my stomach. And then the pandemic hit and I never found out exactly what happened to my stomach (my best guess is I had a tear and the stomach acid was burning it) but I slowly healed over 9 months and I learned I have celiac disease. I know exactly how depressed and horrible that can feel and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.i am so sorry you were ignored for so long and im glad you're doing better now and that you stood up to your doctor! I only just found your channel and im glad I did. I'm excited to see your videos!
