I bought a RU-vid subscription just to avoid the ads. RU-vidrs who monetize still get their money and I can enjoy the videos without interruptions. There were times that YT would play 10 minute infomercials.

I’m guessing RU-vid plans a straight subscription service soon. Seems like that’s the best way for RU-vid to lock in a consistent monthly income. I learn so much on RU-vid I’d hate to miss out for lack of a subscription. But a dozen $9.99/month subscriptions add up.

You are a minimalist around the house and a hoarder of craft supplies. You save time time so you can craft all the time. I hang some of my laces on a bulldog clip to be able to cut a piece off without having to get up. I also have some fabric hanging the same way. Love your organization ❤

I roll my lace up onto paper towel rolls. Then push a pin in to hold them from unrolling. I have 5 or 6 made up.

I cut 2" x 6" strips of the cardboard from the back of paper pads and wrap my lace around them and fasten down with a pin. They fit very nicely in a drawer or tray or what have. Works great for me!

I do the same. But I had the problem of having to unwrap each bundle when trying to find the perfect lace for a project. Most of my lace is white and many look similar. Then I decided to slip a scrap of colored paper behind the top layer before pinning the bundle. This allows me to quickly see the pattern of the lace without unwinding.

I organized my Grandmother's left over lace last year, using old credit/rewards cards and cereal boxes cut up for wrapping the lace around, and then pinning it in place. It has worked out pretty well.

I use Bobby pins to hold ribbons together!! Works great and the hair pins work too for bulkier spools!! 😀

I wrap my lace around clothespins. The ends are chomped down in the jaw of the clothespins and don’t unravel & make a mess.

The important thing of organizing (and staying organized!) is to be able to put things away when done. I recently quit microrganizing because norhing ever got put back where it belonged anyway. Much better. I loved your trim bag (some earlier video) where you put your little bits...i do that now.

I wrap my wide lace one unused paint stirrers and stick the stick into a crock. The thinner lace is wrapped around old style clothes pins. They go in a jar. I love looking at my goodies as much as using them.

There is a trick that usually works or almost doesn't show all the ads. Press the red button and slide it to the end of the video and let play it until it ends then replay the video. Either no ads or just a couple. Just try it. Works for me❤

I wrap my laces on my empty ribbon spools, or toilet paper tubes. I then hang them through the hole in the middle, from expandable curtain rods. I then put the curtain rods in between the sides at the top of my craft hutch. If I don't have spools, I wind on cardboard, and place like folders in a box. I use old pins to hold in place. But, I don't have craft drawers, I have a cabinet/hutch.

When I organized my laces and ribbons I cut pieces of thin cardboard, like on the back of note pads, into pieces the size of credit cards and wrapped them around. Sometimes I was able to put several on one piece. I pined most of them but when I tape them I use har tape. You knoww, like we use to use on our bangs. Anyway, the reason I use that tape is it doesn't leave a residue. I have used scotch tape in the past and over time it will make a brown mark.

I roll my trims up and put a tiny dot of Fabri-Fix on the end of it. It never messes up the ribbons, and holds them nicely.

I watched a little of this and dashed to make a drink. As hubby was having coffee out of his machine I decided to have my first ever hot chocolate with marshmallows. Mixing stiring, 2 yorkies wanting biscuits, put marshmallows in the top, grab a spoon and 2 tiny small brown dog pips. Eating my hot chocolate which was my first and last, I decide to eat marshmallows off the top and get rid of the rest. You guessed it, I was crunching??!!?? Neither of the dogs admitted they had a marshmallow but things got mixed up somewhere 🤣

I would worry that the paper clip would discolor the laces. I use no rust silk straight pins and ensure the end is stuck into the middle so it can’t bite me.

PSS Pam I store my lace and /or ribbons in plastic (food ) zip lock bags eg all my white pieces together and so on, I then seal them shut and then I pierce the bag with a needle to let the air out. This way you can see what's inside them and also they don't come undone......xoxox

I love organizing while watching your organizing videos! Sometimes I do a drawer, sometimes I just do a little filing. But I agree 100% that it’s oddly relaxing. It’s also an excellent form of procrastination for me at tax time! (And I think “capsule wardrobe” is what you might be thinking of.)

I use a 2 or 3 inch wide piece of cardboard however long works for you. Cut a slit in the each of the narrow ends, maybe a 1inch (or as long as the trim is wide). Pull the starting end into one of the slits, wide the trim around until its all wrapped around and then pull the end through the slit on the other end. Does that make sense? I love this drawer btw!

Narrow laces, thin ribbons, even narrow elastic -- I wrap those items around empty thread spools. I have some very delicate wedding lace wrapped around an empty Christmas-ribbon spool. Others are loosely folded & tucked into envelops. I don't use pins because of the risk of rust stains (& getting poked). But the color-coated paperclips are excellent.

I like binder clips for securing ribbon and lace. Sometimes paper clips can be hard to remove without snagging.

I used to use tape for my laces and ribbons, butter elastic bands are less mess and don't leave sticky residue. If you use them regularly. I also make and use cardboard bobbins for wide ones. If I store on thin dowels, I wind them on empty cotton reels. The carded ones I store in a box in a drawer or a ziplock bag for those with elastic bands. Mainly it depends on what furniture I use to store things in. I change often because I rent my house and sometimes I have to move. Yes, crochet thread originally to make doilies. The raffia is meant to be used from the centre of the roll. Minimalism

Follow up on my last post. I posted before I was finished. Story of my life. When I have them wrapped I store them standing on their side and I can look and in an instant see everyone. I chose the size because I had stored some on old key cards I had from trips so I wanted to keep everything consistent. Old playing cards would work well too.

I have so much stuff, thrift stores are dangerous places to me! Fortunately ours dont seem to get the cool stuff they used to get. The organization part of this video is definitely secondary to the chit chat! I enjoyed so much! Nope, i find paper clips to be too frustrating to remove and I've never had good luck with tape. Haha, intergrape .

I have so many of the tiny rolls of crochet cotton that had been my grandmother's. They actually say tatting cotton on mine. The little remnant is crochet.

Threads including wool will deteriorate if exposed to heat and sunlight. The same goes for fabric. It also depends on the quality of the thread. P.s. I do hand embroidery and learnt this the hard way.

No tape. Lol. I put a bunch in small zip lock bags and you can squish all the air out and it takes up half the space. I would only do that to extra stuff because it would be aggravating to get each time you need a little piece daily as you seem to do hahaha

If my thrift store had the great prices yours has I too would have an overload of supplies! The paperclip idea on your lace will become a nightmare (I've tried it). My solutions are wrap around cardboard or put in little plastic bags that I think were originally made for jewelry makers (they come in various sizes and are fairly inexpensive). Bigger pieces of lace ect I put in the cheap sandwich bags. And incase you haven't noticed...the more organized we are the more space we need (and that applies to any space we organize. Which is a nightmare in my very small kitchen and my old fashioned closets🥴). I enjoy your craft organizing videos (I watch Tina's organizing videos too. I can't get enough of organizational ideas for crafts. I need all the ideas I can get 🙄 because I'm hopeless 🤪. TFS 😁

Its so funny watching you. If it were me, i would be pulling those cotton threads out first like you did, but then I would be pulling out what looks like the lg spools of thread( like the black), then you very quickly look like you made progress! Funny how people do things differentlyyet w similar same results! These organizational videos are my fave at the moment! I cant function w the clutter. I love to organize and i def am more creative when its not cluttered! Capsule wardrobe is what your thinking!

This was fun to watch, I wrote a big check to my daughter yesterday for the goodies she got me at 2 thrift shops. Much of it re-sellable, but fun stuff for me too, like old books and neat stamps. It's all in my garage & house now to be organized, but first.... I love skeleton keys too, how did they really keep anyone out of a room? I do a lot of organizing, should use some of that time to produce, but need to know where things are, if I can remember where I put the organized stuff. But, finding it later is fun!

I fasten my rolls with those teeny rubber bands that go into children's Rainbow Loom craft kits. They are small enough to wrap only twice on little bundles, and don't catch or rust like paper clips I tried in the past. They are weak enough not to crimp the ribbon too much. You get a gazillion for a small cost.

I have been super busy this week with orders so my craft room looks like a train wreck, but I got the last of the orders out today and tomorrow I can clean my space and start all over again. lol I love these videos it gives me ideas on how I can store my stuff, thanks for sharing. Yeah coming late to the party lol🤣 I like the idea of having some hanging close so you can just cut some off as needed. I was thinking twist ties but I guess that's metal too. like the idea of credit/gift card with the hair tape or maybe washi? Or your elastic bead thread? you can give me your orange thread. 😘Lol. Also maybe put the jibbilty bits of thread on the bobbins & close by to be used first. (Bird nest) Love everything you say..soo funny! I think🤔..that's what I do or say or sing.. done the rawhide recently. Keep on cleaning. Best ones out there. It's do-able not "perfect" with reckless abandon 🤗😍🤩🥳 & super great ideas luv ya all Oh use the vintage Bobbins for the close to your desk grab & go thread ends. you could have a black ,a white, & any left overs you think "I would put that on something for a splash of color" combo bobbin (a light one & a dark one? ) any left over you just throw it on there? Humm it could work..? &they make my eyes go woo woo woo😍🤩😛💞 well anyway.. love ya sorry for the novel🤣

The narrow lace and pearl cottons can be colored with alcohol inks. Lovely to have so many neutral fibers. The rougher cord is called sisal here. ( sīsal)

I just had an idea about the paper clips. I think I’m going to fold a piece of paper over the side of the lace, then put the paper clip on it. I saw you put a small lace piece down and it looked maybe it was saved like that. At any rate, I thought it might work. Anyway, have a great day! Love the video. ❤️

What a wonderful drawer! full of the most gorgeous bits of lace, seam binding and rick-rack ♡ I use all of the mentioned ways of holding things in place...pins, tape, paper clips, thin elastics all depending on what they are wound around (or not) p.s. omg! so many commercials, Pam! 😱 Still think it's fun, to see how you organize fx in color coordinating! Oh Pam! Why don't you create (with reckless abandon) a digital with some of those laces. I'd love to buy a digital that included those beautiful grape clusters!!! (side story) ... my grandma used to crochet doilies and add crocheted purple grape clusters on the edges.

I use floral pins in my lace. I tried a plastic bin with holes to pull out what I need but it doesn’t work as well as I thought I would. 🙃🙂🙃. 🤗💕🦋. Love the paper clip idea!👍🏻👍🏻

I personally don't use tape on my lace because it usually gets stuck to the lace. I do however use hair elastics to hold the together.

Watching you organize you ribbon and trim drawer the taped folds thing I think was dimensional tape squares. At least from the view I got.

In the hair products aisle at Walmart where they have “hair pretties” aka clips, Bobby pins, barrettes, etc. they sell little bags full of teeny tiny hair gummies (rubberbands) as big as your finger mainly for little girl (or boys) fine hair. They are cheap & the little size is perfect to hold some of those little rolls if lace, etc.

Big Hugs Pam!! I have parience for Some things, Thread Isn't one of those things! I Dislike dealing with the minimal amount of thread I have! A skinny strand that I can barely see is So Annoying! Lol! Hey, you just through out the ends of the spool I wrote about! Paper Clip to hold these together~Definately doing this! Best idea I've seen! Small & large binder clips to hold bulky items! Thank you Pam~Your motivation Inspires! 😊❤👭
