Hi Shannon! Going on 2 years working from my stash with only special occasion purchases (and working through depression and burnout). It's been an exercise in creativity and love for the craft and myself. Even though this vid is 2 years old, it was helpful for me to look at my current yarn state of organization.
Lol. I think we all start with good intention. When I first started crafting, I bought project by project. Then I adulted and was left unsupervised in craft stores……
Ok, first you DO NOT look old enough to be an empty nesters 😮 Second, in so glad there is someone out there like me, lol. I used to have an office, now I have a disorganized YARN room, lol.
About a year ago, I bought some shelving units from Ollie's discount store. I bought plastic bags similar to the ones Ice Yarns uses to send their yarn and have filled the shelves with these bags. Ahem, I still do not have enough shelves.....
Hahahaha! I hear that!!!! I’m making some progress but I am going slow and seeing what actually works for me. I was able to put some small shelves in and that’s helped a lot so far! Also I’m jealous, I hear everyone talking about Ollie’s and there really isn’t any in the Midwest where I live!
The quiz said I'm a butterfly, but I don't know... I like for things to be put away and not out in the open. I also think the giant yarn displays a lot of yarny youtubers have are so pretty, but I can't help but think of the dust and dog hair that would get on it if I tried to do that 😅
Oh yeah I’ve got dust and dog hair at my house too!! Plus I know I’d want whatever yarn is at the bottom and it would ruin the whole display! 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤣
