Oh funny! I feel the same way-overwhelmed with all the stuff I have and trying to organize it is crazy but I love paper, fabric, anything paper crafting!

So there's hope for me after all!! I haven't seen parts of my floor in ages. Tables? Yeah, I think I have some of those somewhere. It looks like my stuff is floating. Lol I've got a similar mindset about saving stuff and numerous craft obsessions plus I'm a musician and genealogist so sometimes I feel doomed. But I laugh and I have an extremely wonderful husband. I've started photographing certain things and that really helps to pare down the debris, but I've got a long ways to go. This video was awesome. Thanks so much for sharing.

OMGosh!! Came across your video and I feel ya! We have been in our home for 10 years and the basement /laundry/ craft/ bar area is the dumping ground for everything. Short story long, got new furniture so the old furniture needs a home for the kids....in the basement! Anyhoo, going thru my area as well so that its a functional space. Will check back for more. ..will maybe do a before and after pIcture!

Funny I have 2 bins full of brochures from when we lived in Florida and other places we visit. They been there for 4 years or so. Need to put them in my albums or get rid of them. Reorganizing my scrappy room also.

You are hilarious don’t feel alone all of us do the same thing. Lol

I loved watching this. Your comments are flippin' hilarious! One suggestion, don't toss the memorabilia until you've really thought it thru. Use the maps to show where some photos are at in the parks. Maybe you don't NEED all, but you won't need store bought if you got the decorations from the stuff you've saved! Toss extras after you put the scrapbook together.

We as Women want to hold on to things. You are not the only one to feel so overwhelmed. I had the same thing happen to me. Buy some over the door wreath hangers, then buy cosmetic bags, they have zipper sections. Hang them on the wreath holder on the back of you door. use the plastic bags that people get pillow cases in, I use them for my bead projects, I even have them hanging in a closet that we made room for, shower curtains come in these bags. Just decide what is really important, will the Children really want all the wonderful things you kept over the years? You can use shower hooks also. DO NOT get so overwhelmed. Remember you want to be happy, and love is all around you! Things change as we get older, what we like, they may or may not . I love watching you!

We must have been separated at birth! Everything you say or show is me all over! Listening to your talking to yourself sounds just like what I do. I promised my self I would clean things up when I retired. That was 2years ago and I still have a mess. I start to clean things out and at the end I find out all I have done is move it all around. I promised myself I would quit buying things because Lord knows I could open my own craft store with all the stuff I have. Your Buynothing is like our Freecycle.org here in Ohio. I try to focus on one small area to do at a time but that doesn’t work either. But your video has inspired me. I am really going to try again. Just have to close my eyes and start throwing stuff out. LOL

OMGosh, I was busting up when you got to the clown sticker!!! I think I've been more decisive about what I've kept, but for sure I've been less organized in how I've kept it. I have memorabilia in various places in the house, and its not organized by year. At the time I set it down in a box, I think I'll remember forever where/when something is from, but years later I can't tell the difference between 2 similar looking sets. The good part of that is, I can use either one... cause if I can't tell the difference, no one else will no the difference either! LOL And, I always have the option of not using them. I hesitate to throw any of that away though. I would have told my parents their memories were junk when I was under 25 years old, but now that I'm 45 years old with a teenager of my own wanting to know more about his grandparents, I wish they had saved more!!! Maybe in another 20 or 40 years I'll see it as a burden, but I'm glad it was there when I wanted it.

Believe it or not this video was relaxing for me. I just turned in a paper for school, after working on it for several stressful days, and taking a test. I decided to watch you while I de-stressed and worked on my planners. I could hardly stop watching though, because I wanted to see how all your hard work turned out, and you just being you made me smile and sometimes laugh a little. Room turned out great btw. Thank you for sharing your process.

I used to save brochures and all sorts of random stuff. I think you’re right to ask who will want this stuff when you’re gone. That’s what I did and last year I tossed 90%.

I feel you. I redid my digital paper trays and put them in hanging file folders and found my travel journals from 1991 and read the whole trip notes. An hour and a half later... And as to Bermuda albums, check to see if there is a FB group or a meetup group of Bermuda in Seattle because they probably miss it.

Just another thought, HAVE your children help. If you put the things in a container, have the Children put them in the scrap books the way they want or like, REMEMBER it needs to be FUN, stress free. They could hang them over there doors.

I can so relate. I keep so many odd and ends and old notes, tags, memorable "junk" etc.. HOWEVER, you can list the Disney maps on Ebay. Many people are search for maps from certain years. I lost one that I wanted for a scrapbook and was able to get it off Ebay.

Oh my!! I am just like you! I don't know why I keep all the stuff I keep. I told my husband that I wanted a huge container in our yard that I could through everything that I don't want or need in. Still isn't one there.... I need to clean our intire house not just my craftroom. 😳😐😬 Well one day I will get there, just don't know when. Tfs and inspiring! 💕

This video came up on my feed. I love it. You are so open and honest. We can all relate. I’m in El Paso Tx and will have a new home waiting for me in Dallas on April 27. At that time I am doing exactly what you are doing now. I have lots of memorabilia too. My house will have a huge space with 10 foot ceilings for a dining room but it will be my craft room as my husband and I don’t know a soul in Dallas. My husband watched your video with me over breakfast. I’m a new subbie.

I can't wait for the sketching video 😊😊 Great job on the craft room. One idea I had for all your tickets and small things from all your trips is maybe just loosely toss them into a shadow box so they're all contained but each daughter can have a memory shadow box to hang in their rooms of all the places you've been as a family. (Something they can take when they're adults 😰) Plus you can add to it in the coming years. Probably can't fit it all, but you can prob toss multiple items 🤗

I have the exact same stuff i collected!! Every little thing I kept too. The paper from a straw. Where from? I have no idea!! I saved it all for Project Life and uh I haven't done PL since 2015!!

I say put anything you don’t want to keep in a clearance/ clear out supplies in your Etsy- people will buy it, don’t list individually post in LOTS ( like items) photograph piles of paper scraps and SELL SELL SELL. Just do a search of scrapbook supplies and list it. Do a theme like LOVE IT or LIST IT! You will sell more than can imagine. Put your stuff on BUY NOTHING!

Hello Tanya,those iris cases from Michael's I can't live without I use them to store my washi tapes one case holds well over 100 rolls I have 8 full of washi I know I'm addicted! But I keep mine color coded and you can see in them so I just grab the one I want and go to my workspace and they stand side by side or stack on each other. Guess what,I live in Washington to only on the other end I live in Longview we connect by bridge to Rainier Oregon that's pretty cool! Is your family Seahawk fans? I am for 30yrs now love them. Did you ever get back into bobbin lace? I was making bookmarks but since my move I haven't practiced. Now I am trying to restart and have forgotten everything!!! Lol

Have you considered donating some of your excess paper to say a school where the children could do some fabulous crafts?! And, you could put all those Disney buttons laid out nicely and take a picture of them and save the pic and get rid of the bulky buttons...they don't really lay nicely in a scrapbook anyway! You need someone with you to help you decide...you seem so overwhelmed! - Cindy

I think the empty little boxes that things came in is nothing but baggage and a fire Hazzard that's just fuel if there was a fire your kids will not care about alot of the paper stuff thats memories for you I'm sorry but I'm a commen sense thinker and I can't stand clutter!
