This video includes explanation of various reaction mechanisms like ; oxidative addition, reductive elimination, migratory insertion, beta hydride elimination etc.
Sir, please add this in organometallic playlist. And please complete every playlists with uploaded relevant videos subject wise. It takes me a lot of time to find the proper uncategorised video.
You are actually handsome in every respect Your teaching skill ,your notes ,your voice tone And way of understanding to u and for us Is OUT STANDING*****👍👍👍👍👍
What is the actual mechanism of CO insertion? According to the labeling experiment (shown earlier), the labeled CO forms the acyl group but both in the mechanism shown here ( methyl migration and Intramolecular insertion) lead to the unlabelled acyl group rather a free labeled CO is there. So, what is the actual mechanism???
Inspired from your lectures I have opened one educational channel but it is Not Growing. I wanna grow my educational channel.....plz suggest me the way....
sir thank you for your magnificent videos.sorry sir but for the first question can you plz explain why our product is diamagnetic ? it seems i cant quite obtain the answer.
If you look upon the oxidation state of Ir its +1 in reactant and +3 in product which makes it's electronic configuration d8 in reactant and d6 in product. Whereas the geometry of complex is Square planar in reactant and octahedral in product. Now fill 8 electrons in d orbitals based on splitting in square planar geometry, you will observe all electrons are paired up, so it's Diamagnetic. In product, if you fill 6 electrons in octahedral feild (Low spin) as Ir is 5d metal, it will show Low Spin configuration, so all the 6 electrons will be present in t2g orbital and eg orbital will be empty, which again makes all electrons paired up, making the complex Diamagnetic.
In the first question discussed,it is told, agostic interaction and also oxidation state increases by 2 units ,but in the notes u described,u told, there will not be change of formal oxidation state of metal..please clarify
hi i think changing in oxidation state happens in the agostic interaction that happens in oxidative addition but in the beta elimination there is no change in oxidation state.
