Absolutely agree about the Mako 1, I still wear mine on occasion too. Despite the outdated movement, it has a unique charm that makes it very hard to replace. Thanks for watching!
I have 2 Kamatsu watches and one Mako, and find no fault with any of them. I only wish that Orient would offer slightly smaller versions, in the 38mm range. I have the Seiko Baby Alpinist at 38mm, and now find my 40-plus millimeter watches to be noticeably too big by comparison. If Orient put out 38mm versions of their line, I'd be an instant customer.
The problem with this watch is that it looks off-white or ivory in pictures, yet has a lot of gold tone in person. It’s not even champagne, but actual true gold & I absolutely dislike gold jewelry & watches.
