I own this blue Orient Triton and definitely a phenomenal watch . I added a Strapcode angus jubilee bracelet to mine which really adds a lot to an already awesome watch .

Never noticed the wobbly crown until you mentioned it but maybe that's because I own a few Vostoks lol😂 I have the Triton for nearly 2 years now and it is a watch that needs to be worn and used. A seriously tough watch indeed. Again, an amazing video and thank you for the mentions. 😊
Thanks a million for the watch Tim. Hope it’s back safely with you. The Crown did remind me of Vostok alright. Maybe it’s like that by design. It’s a serious watch. After reviewing the video, it makes the Padi Turtle look almost gimmicky. The muted blue of the bezel insert is lovely and there is great depth to the dial. Stick it front of a camera though and it becomes Reese Witherspoon. It’s unbelievably photogenic.
This is the least expensive watch in my collection amongst lots of Rolex and Omegas and this is the watch that actually gets used as a sports watch. It’s a great beater and still a beautiful piece.
it's cool but I would move the orient logo and text a bit higher and to the left, all that empty left side of the dial makes me sad. then it would be balanced in design between the power reserve, logo and date.
why would you put the logo and text "to the left" ? that would look ridiculous and even more unbalanced. go look at seiko spring drives, their power reserve is usually asymmetrical. even the famous "snowflake" which many people consider to be a beautiful watch, has an offset power reserve. this is japanese quirkyness. love it or leave it.
I own 2 Skx009 and ORIENT TRITON BLACK. Do they have similarities? YES! Do they compare? NO! Comparing SKX with ORIENT TRITON is like comparing Martial Arts with MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and asking who would win. Comparing SKX with the TRITON is like comparing Vinyl Record Music against MP3. Or even better, Comparing SKX with TRITON is like comparing a 35mm Photo vs a Photoshopped image from an I phone. My point being, while the TRITON boasts a sapphire crystal; power reserve gauge; Applied indices it lacks the originality, simplicity, wearability and enjoyability of the legendary SEIKO SKX. The proportions, dimensions and unpretentious simplicity of the SEIKO SKX is what makes it an icon and so desirable. The OEM Bracelet of the SKX is oddly satisfying and deceptively comfortable. The bells and whistle of the TRITON are cosmetic and while functional they detract from the charm. Put it to you this way: SEIKO SKX is on a league of its own thats why it has the highest cult followers in the history of horology. Aftermarket parts are ubiquitous for the SKX but good luck in finding some as mundane as an Aftermarket bezel insert for the TRITON. SKX has a charm like no other. SKX all the way..... USA 🇺🇸 P.s ORIENT RAY, MAKO and KAMASU DO NOT and should NOT be compared with the SEIKO SKX as the ORIENT SIBLINGS are not ISO Certified and have a crown at 3 0'clock unlike the SKX. If anything, the ORIENT Siblings compare favorably to the SEIKO SEA URCHIN SNZF17. Lastly, the ORIENT TRITON is modeled after the now antiquated ORIENT SATURATION DIVER aka OSD and NOT the SKX. Triton just like the OSD all have a date at 4 0' clock with no day whereas the SKX has a DAY-DATE application. Also, SEIKO TURTLE PADI doesn't have "applied indecies' as stated in the video, instead, the indecies are pressed from behind giving it a raised relief to which the lumabrite is subsequently pasted on. A quick Google image search will confirm my assessment. Thanks as always.
You can have that skx. Ill take an keep the triton all day an night. The skx may have a cult following, "that i am not apart of". But its not even close to being better than the triton nor the osd. Those two divers are orient Gems.
I'm wearing my Neptune (that's the "official" name for this watch) right now. It's TERRIFIC. That wobbly crown is normal for this movement; they are all like that. In fact, this is the same movement in the Saturation Diver, which costs 7-8 times as much as the Neptune. It wobbled in that one too.
That crown wobble is nothing compared to vostok's crown action 😅. Seriously, that's a great watch. I may sell my kamasu and get the triton instead! Great video! May I ask what camera are you using? The autofocus is really good.
