@@macbarentobaccocompany5834 You need to revive the old Planta "Akropolis" fine cut shag, or something very close. It was just an unadulterated, super fine cut sun-ripened Virginia and Greek-style oriental blend that was super smooth on the throat. Bright and complex with a little floral sweetness and exotic spice. It even had a gorgeous bright orange colour to it and hardly ever a stem. It was so good that it was both the ultimate rolling tobacco as well as being delicious in a pipe blend also. Amazing tobacco that got discontinued suddenly (probably because it used actual fine quality oriental/balkan tobacco) and I believe the old Planta portfolio was bought by you according to your website. Please bring back at least something like this, a fine quality bright and delicate Oriental/Balkan/Turkish shag, as it's pretty much entirely missing from the market and much sought after.
Thanks for that, it's great to hear directly from a master tobacco blender. In an effort to try to enjoy more English style I have some Early morning Pipe with a little latikia gives it that smoky aroma. However the blend is a little bland for my taste so I'm thinking of mixing it with Mac aromatic, vanilla to see how they blend! Have had a success to my taste mixing aged burley with other aros !! Thank you.
The very best oriental leaf I tried was in the GL Pease mixture Bohemian Scandal - When well into the smoke a power smell of frankincense would fill the room. I have smoked many varieties of Turkish and Oriental leaf but never in my life had a tobacco pour out a smoke that remind one of a high mass in the Catholic church. The smell of the frankincense would linger hours after the smoke - Sadly, this blend is no longer around due to the Syrian conflict. Anybody know what type of Latakia and it's treatment was used to create this frankincense effect? Has anyone tried infusing tobacco leaf with frankincense oil?
