The aurora does have two shields so it is the tankier option and with 4 gimballed S1, it can come close to the dps of the 100 series.

@@gustavolrcoelho yee so few ships have bathroom. the Mustang Beta have a bathroom shower unit had a good looking living/ mini kitchen place the newer version looks like a prison cell or something. then we don't see any kitchen or bathrooms until the Freelancer I think.

Any ship with a bed should have a bathroom. It's common sense. What's the first thing almost everyone does when they wake up?

the Pisces has its place though as a ship to shuttle a few friends to and from large ships and stations /ports ECT with some cargo to boot . i think a hanger in a 890j should have at least one C8X and now a 100 series IMO

Have beds in long haul trucks too, the trick is finding a safe roadside (or station/planet in this case) for a pit stop ^^ I do much prefer ships to have a 'refresher' though, that's why I like the Reliant Tana ^^

It actually fits the lore really well. I recently got boat fever and spent way too much time looking at real world yachts. Apparently, sleeping 8 in absolute luxury is an industry standard, and toilets are considered a frivolous luxury. Showers are completely impossible to find. Luxury and survival don't mix.

I think the Aurora could remain a contender if it were a lot more nimble than the 100 series, but then why bother, as the _Mustang_ is the starter ship for combat oriented players. But the fact that the Mustang rework didn't include an interior space pretty much killed it as a starter ship IMO. So yeah, that leaves us with the 100 series as the only remaining choice, unless a new player really truly has no intention of doing anything that would require a little cargo space and therefore still prefers a Mustang.

I think they just need to rework the aurora to have the newer sleek white fiberglass look. They also need to add attachments for things like doing cargo. The problem with SC though is they are changing direction to new design principles, but it's a huge logistical problem, because older ships look like they're from a completely different game, and pretty rough around the edges too. And even the game engine is 4 years old, not very great, and this is already their 2nd / 3rd game engine change. Which means if they want to move to a new engine, they basically have to completely remake the game and recreate most of the systems and assets from scratch. This is a problem that is soon approaching critical mass. Also, a lot of these ships are sorely mismatched for what they are. You've got 4 size 1's on the Aurora, and 2 size 3's on the 100i. That is a huge imbalance of power. The 100i essentially gets double the damage output, which is an irreconcilable difference in a game like this, especially for their similar size / speed / role. It means that a 100i can always beat an Aurora in a battle, unless the 100i isn't moving or shooting back or piloted by someone who just got the game.

@@peoplez129 but remember, 2 fixed 3s vs 2 gimbaled 2s is a matter of automated accuracy vs manual skill based accuracy. there are trade offs.

I like the internal missile but when it goes live I'm going with the 300 series. I like Morphology. This was the video that made me subscribe.

It also was my starter ship. The first ship i owned and i never could fly. But I upgraded it to a Tana. I think I will buy one of the 100's with AUEC.

Agreed. I feel the Origin 100i series interior(s) have a medical or bathroom feel to them - or as I wrote elsewhere, the feeling of an emptied fiberglass hot tub. Nothing precisely ugly, but as you said, sort of sterile. Lacking in the; fabric, wood, cushioning and creature comforts I would think appropriate. I also agree with Risenfriese about the Mustang Beta redesign debacle. The original design of which was gorgeous, but the new one is a prison cell shorn of all charm and comfort. Depressing and I'd argue out of character for a company whose in-lore CEO (Silas Koerner) has such a hands on quality to the product design. I think he'd reject the unlovely Mustang Beta interior as well. No heart.

Report it on Spectrum and they might just change it. It probably has a placeholder flight model.

Yeah, fingers crossed the Aurora will get an upgrade at some point. I recently upgraded my package from Aurora to a ROC, but seeing the Aurora actually compete with its starter siblings would be great!

@@Power5 yes, but it's also objectively bad at its job since it can only move one passenger with no cargo per run. Imagine an 890j superyacht shipping guests of to shore to shop one at a time. And they can't even bring back their items with them, you'd need a separate shuttle for goods. How does that fit into a luxury experience? It doesn't. At best the x85 is one of those roadsters you can fold away in a luxury RV, it doesn't work combined with an actual yacht and the 890j is a worse ship for it.

@@chr0onomeister that would be where the MPUV comes in. And yes I agree, we have zero small sized people haulers in game besides the MPUV. No 15 passenger vans, no airport type shuttles. We can carry a maximum of 8 people in an MPUV.

Yeah, but everyone knew that. The question is can it fit into a MAX or Caterpiller or any of the other non-Carrack ships?

In fact, it was asked by the community, but an answer was wisely avoided in either part of the two-part Q&A: CIG's answer to what the "I" gets to balance the missiles fielded by the "A" and the cargo space of the "C" was - and I quote - "Maneuverability". In that respect the content of their answer can be considered "empty space", I give you that. And their answer makes as much sense as a ship featuring unused "empty space" as a feature - because "Lore" and so one can sell 3 variants instead of just 2 - and not one RU-vidr addresses or even notices when it's sticking out like a sore thumb? Rrrrright - at least silence is a well understood answer ^^

@@Winterx69 I mean, base 300i is in the same spot. It's the base version, nothing special.

They can't even do work on progression without adding more systems. Novelty makes grind less boring. Going to different places helps alleviate the boredom of space trucking.

I don't think that this will always be the case - at least I hope not, since except in cases where players received LTI those ships can be lost - but for now P2W is just the way it is

That's the issue i have. It's more expensive then a Aurora LN, but the LN is better IMHO. As for the 135c, why would you take that over a 300i? Same price.

Mustang has a good shot too. 2 s2 and 2 s1, all of which are gimballed, extra shield and more maneuverability... I think mustang wins too

Not really. Gimbals are terrible. They miss more often than they hit, even when it seems like they're hitting. Not to mention the reduced range of size 1's. Max size 1 range is 1.4km. Meanwhile, size 3's range from 3-4km. Even though the Aurora is slightly faster, that's not enough to matter in dogfighting, only in running away in a straight line type of scenario's. Because all it takes for a 100i to escape or gain distance is for them to maneuver in a direction, and by the time you match their direction and speed, they will have already gotten thousands of meters away, enough to either be out of weapons range, jump away, or use the distance advantage to shoot back outside of the Aurora's pitiful weapon range. This basically makes the Aurora like a child swinging their arms while someone's hand is on their head holding them at a distance.

I feel the same way. But then again, people said the same thing 5 years ago.

It's supposed to sit between the aquila and carrack these days since the size boost, yet both of those have rover and shuttle space? Fitting a 100i and a G12 into the 600i for exploration would be such a fantastic improvement!

You understand most of your favourite ships are made by the same people who made the worst. They are not blind and learn as they go. Im sure they would love to give it a second shot if given the time to do so.

easy solution: you park a 85X and a 135c in the 890. so the passenger can be taken in with the fancy 85X while their luggage is hauled with the 135c. of course you can even add a Pisces to the hangar, that can haul cargo and passengers, if a little less fancy.
