Great to see Eichel giving his buddy Marchessault hugs and congratulating him right away, Eichel himself was a worthy candidate. Not just because of the points but because of his presence in these playoffs overall. Always driving the play like he does so well, anchoring this Vegas team as the no 1 star center VGK saw in him when traded for him.

I remember thinking...hmmm should I get his jersey a few games into his 1st year while every1 was getting Karlsson/Fluery/Engelland...Yeah maybe I should, he's prob going thru a lot with FL could use the support. Couldn't believe FL leave him unprotected. Then I got his jersey signed soon after n a few more jerseys later...here we are...my boii!!! So happy for him

they didn’t dump him. vegas wanted him as part of the agreement to take on smith’s contract which florida wanted to dump. fla agreed not to protect him if vegas agreed to take smith

Fun fact: the Golden Knights have more Canadians on their roster than any other team, may be copium but the fact that the cup will be visiting far more Canadian cities than American ones is nice to see

@@curtisb5978 When the expansion draft happened most of the players were very clearly 3th/4th liners, 5/6th d men at best. But despite that the players actually proved lots of people wrong. No person with a working brain would have thought that the team that drafted was any good.

Not suprised vegas took it like this. Happy Eichel won it before McDavid. Made really big moves everyyear so they were bound to win. Love that mentality. The foundation looks good and no point of rebuilding when you can win now. Congrats

Why would they boo the guy that brought them to Vegas to begin with? You don't bite the hand that feeds you. Even so Vegas is one of the Southern markets that actually makes sense given how deeply rooted it is in the sports and entertainment market
