When Yhwach considers you a bunch of ruthless killers, you KNOW you are dealing with a bunch of DEMONS. Which makes it very fitting that they are most likely going to be the villains of the Hell arc!

If we get another Bleach movie, it needs to be solely about the Original Gotei 13. Their inception and the battle with Yhwach.

Safe to say that the original Gotei 13 were products of their time, chaos and war. Them gradually disappearing and being replaced by a more lawfully controlled form in a more quiet era. It's telling how Yamamoto describes himself as a monster that should never return, he clearly saw just how unabashedly uncontrollable and viscous they once were.

Kubo is an absolute madlaad for making such amazing character designs for characters that appear in one episode, anyone knowing even a little about character design, which is a little more than I do would know exactly how much work goes into it that really inspiring from an artist, I hopethey show up in the hell arc

I really do hope we see them be the villains of the Hell arc, because it would be such an interesting parallel to see the current peacekeeping Gotei 13 go up against the bloodthirsty psychopaths that were the OG Gotei 13

The OG Gotei 13 looks so full of personality and powerful. Really curious on what there full power is and what there abilities can do.

I truly hope we get to see more of them in the hell arc or another flashback because they are very interesting looking characters

I think one of the main themes of Bleach is how easily Soul Society is infiltrated in every arc

The original Gotei is one of my favorite concepts in Bleach. Yama collected a bunch of murderers and somehow convinced them to work together. I wonder if he or Unohana killed any of them themselves.

Please don’t forget that Kisuke created the research and development mission for squad 12. The mad scientist trope doesn’t exist for squad 12 prior to Kisuke.

The reason why Yachiru didn't age was because she spent alot the time after the thousand year blood war not fighting, it was confirmed confirmed that the fight between her and kenpachi happened before s thousand year blood war, so after s thousand years she hasn't battled and used her spiritual pressure. Characters that use their spiritual pressure alot physically age more. Kenpachi for example looks older than Yachiru Uhohana.

I can only imagine how strong the first gotei 13 will be In the hell arc along with other hell villains like the Espada or even the Quincy

I theorise Unohana died during the battle with Zaraki because she’s gonna play a big role in the hell ark (also 8000 sword styles but we don’t even see 1000 of them)

Great video! I think the Zero Division was already formed, with the exception of Hikifune (since she passed down the mantle to Urahara and knows Shinji) by the time the original Gotei 13 was formed. Nimaiya created all the Zanpakuto, Ichibei named EVERYTHING, Senjumaru weaving the Shihakusho, and Tenjiro creating the Healing Springs. I think these four were likely the original Zero Division, then Hikifune was added later for her contributions in the area of Mod Souls

Yes, Squad Zero predates the thirteen court guard squads. Ichibe is millions of years old and was the first to obtain Bankai. Oetsu is likely just as or almost as old as him as he is the one who made the Zanpakuto. Similarly, Senjumaru made the shihakusho, something they all wear (tho I imagine that her promotion took place within the last 2k years since it seemed as tho she knew Yama personally from her interaction with Yhwach). Whaddya bet Yamamoto woulda been squad zero if he hadn’t been the head captain? Squad Zero members’ sole requirement seems to be history rather than power. They were the first person to obtain Bankai, the people who made the Zanpakuto, shihakusho, healing Kido (kaido), and artificial soul (not mod soul). Strength just happens to be an addition. By all technicalities, Yamamoto also made history. He created the thirteen court guard squads and the Shino academy, both of which are also the history of the soul society. If he hadn’t placed his duty as the leader of the organization, I bet he’d have been offered to be a member of Squad Zero. Which begs the question of what Kuruyashiki made (can’t remember honestly). Similarly, I think that Tenjiro became a member of Squad Zero after the formation of the thirteen court guard squads. He taught Unohana healing before his promotion, and we can assume that he was promoted shortly after he created it. Let’s assume he took over as captain for Chikiri. With a promotion to squad zero, it leaves an opening. Shortly after, Unohana clashes with Kenpachi and decides to create the healing corps. Thus, she takes over Tenjiro and Chikiri’s old squad while leaving squad 11 either vacant or in the hands of a lieutenant or someone else she deems competent (aka the 2nd Kenpachi). This creates an appropriate timeline for both of them. That aside, yes, there’s no doubt in my mind that the entire first generation is in hell

I want a movie about them I want to see their shikai I want to see their bankai

If they show up in hell Arc I hope they don't get killed with stupid things like infighting and plot Armour because we don't want to have another Quincys situation on like that is happening in TYBW

I do think kubo will be continuing with the hell arc by the end of the TYBW anime, and him revealing these characters is him possibly teasing the villians of the arc, like imagine if he continues it and we find out the main group of villians this time are the the 13 original members of the gotei 13 along with a few other notable characters like ukitake, but they are all corrupted by hell or something like szayelaporro when they showed him

What people have to remember is that just because they were described to be bloodthirsty criminals doesn't mean literally all 13 of them were. I'm sure even back then there was the odd one out.

I dont think just original 13 are down there in hell. I also think noble clans member that split the soul king are in hell also. They would definitely be some of the strongest character we have seen.

While the reiatsu level is a clear factor, there could actually be another reasons. I think Yamamoto and Unohana went downstairs because they used to be the most prominent members of a group of murderous criminals. Szayelaporro must have been terrible as a human and Ukitake survived his illness by a severed piece of the god that the soul reapers had killed and mulitated. He lived for centuries off of the Soul society's original sin.

I’d read somewhere that the pink haired girl has Hyorinmaru. Kubo said that Zanpakuto basically can be recycled, and the hilts look similar, only difference is the color. Same place I’d read that also said the third division captain had a Zanpakuto that dealt with gold while the sickly looking captain dealt with poisons or something similar. Got it from a Brazilian channel where the guy had claimed to have worked on the anime

Even the comment is a bit later compared to when I watched the video but i wanted to mention it's really great and still would love to get a follow up to this video like how the Gotei 13 did change over all the years I would find that very interesting since some of the newer captains in-between are just mentioned in filler or just the novals and I would love to see a video explaining when what changes happening even some of them are just speculations I guess would really appreciate that :)

I think it should be noted that the captains and vice captains who were killed by Quincy's probably won't be in hell because when the hollow gets killed by a Quincy the souls are destroyed. I would think the same as led by if a shinigami gets killed too

Don’t forget the battles with the Arrancar were more about training several characters to a higher level than any real danger to Soul Society having Unohana step in and absolutely WRECK EVERYONE would have been counter productive.

I think the Onmitskudo existed before the Gotei 13 and under the control of the Shihoin Clan. I think that's why Yamamoto recruited Chika Shihoin for his first Gotei 13, but not a representative of any of the other Great Noble Clans. Furoufushi Saito reminds me less of Riruka and more of a combination of ‎Kirio Hikifune and Hiyori Sakuragaki, which to me implies a common ancestor for both these later characters. Given the way Hiyori treated Capt. Hikifune as a mother-figure it's not too much of a stretch to suggest that they're indeed blood relatives. The only other character she reminds me of is an older version. Entetsu Kumoi doesn't appear to me to have a lipless mouth and yellow teeth, but rather he seems to be wearing a golden, tooth-shaped mouth guard to protect his real teeth. And his weapon is a kanabo (a metal club), not a katana encircled by ringlets. There is precedent for retirement from the Gotei 13 without arrest: Ginjirō Shirogane and Seinosuke Yamada both had second careers after having "retired" (or "taken an extended leave of absence" from which they never plan to return).

Nobutsuna is my favorite character, I hope we will know more about him in future

My biggest hope out of all bleach related stuff from kubo (normal bleach tybw, hell arc, burn the witch and miscellaneous) is the miscellaneous part for Kubo to hopefully do a 13 ep cour about these first Gotei. He would be silly not to capitalise on these characters that i dont think he would add them for the anime exclusive scenes to not do more on them. He could dedicate an episode to each captain and maybe roll yama, yachiru and chojiro into 1 episode and flesh out the rest, then cour 1 ends with Yhwach appearing for the first time.

Shigyo looks like he was inspired by Rasputin.

The girl with the twintails and eyepatch, for some reason her design puts me in mind of the Arrancar.

Kumoi and Kumoi are not related, Kumoi in the original Gotei is 久面井， the other Kumoi is 雲井. and despite not being a Shiba, Obana Danjiro does have the Shiba Crest(the swird on the front of Kuukaku's outfit and Ganju's pants) on his Zanpakuto

So HOPEFULLY you’d think we’d get back stories on all 12 of these old captains? Well 11 because of the first but still they could give more about that guy I think.

I think we will see the original gothic 13 in the hell arc because all of them are in hell now. I believe that’s why kudo added this new scene for the anime so that we are already familiar with them when we see them in the hell arc.

32:04 We know that, canonically, Kirio was Captain of Squad 12 over 110 years before the start of the series and was promoted to just shortly before Aizen created the Visord. Tenjirō and Senjumaru seem to have connections with Retsu and Mayuri respectively. So maybe Squad 0 only consisted of Ichibē and Ōetsu at the time?

At least 2 members of zero squad existed before the gotei 13, but it wasn't necessarily referred to as zero Devision until after the Gotei 13 were established. Hikifune Kirio was originally recruited from the Gotei 13 after all

I think it’s possible some might have been so strong that they are waiting in prison or somewhere for something to be strong enough to challenge them and then be killed by them. So maybe after ichigo and others have their offspring?

I could at least see Ichibe and Nimaya predating the Gotei 13. However, the other 3 definitely didn't. There's heavy implications that Tenjiro and Shutara were originally part of the Gotei 13, even hinting Shutara was also a Captain of Squad 12, and we know for a fact Kirio was Squad 12's captain only 100 years ago. Heck, there's even a chance Nimaya could've been a part of the Gotei 13, perhaps a blacksmith Yamamoto eventually picked up, who became a 2nd Generation Captain, then a Squad 0 member.

I don't know how True it is, although some of the characters' powers were consistent, some of them felt extremely absurd and absurd. I'm really INTERESTED to see original Cour Guard Squad GOTEI 13, defienitily i'm INTERESTED of a female GOTEI 13 characters like that purple haired BEAUTIFUL female with an eyepatch, we saw something about of them on TYBW but only a shadows, wan't to see MORE. Already known Yamamoto and Sasakibe, Sasakibe's BANKAI is one of STRONGEST ever and we saw it only ONCE on ANIME and it's SAD what happened Ssakibe. on Bleach Thousand Year Blood War but only their shadows so it's AWESOME you made a video about original GOTEI 13. End of year 2023 is surprisilly SOON and i'm really HYPED Bleach will continue in next year 2024, CAN'T WAIT! 🔥🔥

As much as I’m looking forward for these characters in Hell Arc, I’m also excited to see every Kenpachi that has not been revealed in the story yet. Zaraki vs all the Kenpachi would be such a cool fight. I’m also excited to see how strong Szayel & Yylfordt (assuming he’s in hell, too) have become since we last saw them. I’m pretty sure they’d fuse to become Cien Granz again to raise the stakes of the Hell Arc, and if they fuse again, we can surely assume that this Cien is stronger than we’ve seen in SAFWY because they got powers from hell. It would be nice to see Renji & Rukia (and perhaps other characters) handle him. Come to think of it, if Byakuya actually died in TYBW, his Hell Arc design with the black/fallen angel version of Shukei Hakuteiken would be sick! 🔥 Lastly, I’m so excited to see Ukitake’s full display of power w/o restraints anymore because of his sickness. Ukitake vs Shunsui would definitely happen.
