Beef tartare, popularly "tatarák", is a dish made from real raw beef sirloin, which is finely grated with the tip of a sharp knife or finely chopped with a knife. Served with chopped spring onions or shallots, mustard, salt, pepper and Worcester sauce. Sweet peppers, chili, cumin, ketchup and other spices are added to taste. Everything is topped with raw egg yolk and all ingredients are mixed.
In different countries, you will find other flavors such as anchovies, tabasco, cognac or finely chopped pickled cucumbers.
In the Czech Republic, steak tartare is usually served on toast smeared with garlic. In other countries, it is served, among other things, on light toast bread. In Belgium, fried potato chips are traditionally served with steak steak.
