Empire strikes back alone has enough amazing cinematography to no diff the entire sequels. That scene where luke and vader fight against the blue and orange freezing chamber, the scene of the walkers towering above the retreating rebels, all the scenes of luke and vader above the pit of death on cloud city, some of the scenes where the millennium falcon is fleeing star destroyers, ect.
I'm so lucky to have grown up watching the original trilogy instead of catching it when I got older, those beautifully shot scenes looked even more magical as a kid and even still look and feel amazing. Honestly speaking, the force awakens is just a new hope with faster pacing, new characters, and better cinematography. I would have to give the first movie to the prequels trilogy just because a new hope doesn’t stand up to standards. It’s slow, had amazing cinematography for the time, started the og trilogy, but only nostalgia keeps it on a list so high.

In my opinion, it’s by far the least bad sequel movie. And let’s not forget the scene where kylo ren kills Han Solo. It was emotional, had good lighting symbolism (the red and blue lights symbolizing both sides of the force etc), and the sun completely disappearing to only let darkness fill the area the moment Han Solo gets stabbed

Lowkey, the original trilogy is the best trilogy. Not only did it start it all, but its a classic tale of a boy wanting to get justice for his father and live up to his name by destroying the great evil, only to be betrayed by the fact that his father was actualy the villain the whole time and was the antagonist he had to defeat, with it finally ending with that same boy reaching his fathers potential aswell as being the only person to bring his father to the right side of the battle and defeat the ultimate evil. On top of this, it was revolutionary for its time in visual effects and cinematography, causing it to be the foundation of this huge sci-fi industry. It also has one of the greatest and most well-known plot twists and antagonists in film history. The prequels are good and definitely have the best fights, but nothing can beat the original trilogy of Star Wars. It's sad to see how underrated it is nowadays compared to the prequels, and even sometimes, the sequels.

I was 7 in '77. Saw STAR WARS in a sold-out theater. The theater erupted in applause at the end when Han returned to help Luke save the day! EVERYONE walked out happy. It was a matinee, there was a huge line of people hoping to get tickets for the upcoming show, some people from the previous sold-out showing got right back in line hoping for a chance to see it again before every show sold out! It was an amazing experience that I'll never forget!!!😁

@@jesustovar2549 Peter Jackson took some inspiration while making Lotr but he didn't solely make it cuz of star wars. The lotr book changed everything about storytelling. It's influence is, imo, much bigger than star wars, since it literally created one of the most loved genres. I love Star Wars, the originals is the 2nd best trilogy, but LotR is def the better one

For cgi and cinematography we have to look at what both trilogies had to work with. Personally, the original trilogy had less to the peak of cgi of that time, while the sequel trilogy had more to work with and didn't use all of it. So I'd give cinematography to original trilogy. understand?
that's not how it works... the point of the video is to COMPARE these 2 trilogies to each other, not to see how they work in their own era individually, the sequels have better cinematography compared to the og trilogy, so this point goes to the sequels
Sequels in my mind aren't **that** bad, but definetly they do not hold up to originals or prequels. Force Awakens - copy of New Hope Last Jedi - tried something new at least and somehow I enjoyed the movie Rise of Skywalker - it's Rey Palpatine not Skywalker Rey for God's sake
The sequels just ripped off the originals. There was no creativity. Edit: so much for creative freedom Kathy I'd also say the originals win in cinematography cause they didn't have the technology used to make the sequels, and originals feel like modern movies.
The wasted potential of the sequels is honestly tragic Cuz there are actually things in them that would’ve made for interesting films But because of Disney’s lack of planning we got the mess of a trilogy we have now
this is literally perfect. Only thing better in the sequels I’d argue is the cinematography and the visual effects. (OT still has some good cinematography moments but sequels are overall better imo)
