Steve Giving up that early was not cool. He was playing the strongest army, and the moment it stopped going his way, he just gave up. we've had battle report in this crusade where Daves world eaters got utterly crushed, yet he carried on with a smile. But it was nice to see Dave's world eaters crush the dark angels

Poor sportsmanship. Dave reminded him that there were other objectives, experience etc. however steve still conceded before dave could begin his 2nd turn.

Honestly, Steve is never a fantastic sportsman. If he's not bringing massively tailored lists and stomping turn 1, he's conceding by turn 2. I used to think Matt complaining about averages was the worst aspect of MWG, but honestly, some games Steve ruins an otherwise interesting game or match up. Dave should have pulled rank on this one.

I've also noticed that anytime a game doesn't go his way he'll start complaining and whining in a disgenuine 'haha' manner. He really can be a poor sport sometimes.

Wish we could have seen dave's retaliation. Its not everyday khorne, let alone khorne orks, give the smack down to dark angels. I was hyped for the las cannons to blast down the disrespectful suppressors. Anyways, great time awesome kitbashed army

Conceding in a narrative scenario really is offputting to watch imo... Because Dave misses out on exp for basically killing Steve's army, which in turn also allows you to ignore battle scars.

@@TheMrweirdperson its not "viable strategy", MWG exists to provide fun battle reports to watch, not to act as a serious tournament between employees, its also just cheating in this sense, every other game that was a blow out was played through because of XP/scars

Always love MWG's content, and im loving the Crusade, but personally the SM players (dark angels and Custodes) have had alot of moments bordering on becoming "that guy"

In my crusade we have a rule for Conceding, its on a dice roll. I think it makes scence to fall back if you are losing to avoid losses. Yea it can give the feel bads but living to fight another day is in warfare

Technically you are correct but all it is doing in the scenario is depriving the winning player from the XP and other advantages he could use in the following rounds.

@@mudbray6970 True, but it also saves him the possible Battle Scar rolls for his own units and he ultimately wins the battle gaining the Rec and Mission Specific bonus's that come with it. I think that's a fair compromise for friendly games where both sides can already see who is going to be the winner extremely early on, it also makes no sense why an army that gets destroyed this badly wouldn't fall back and regroup to avoid major losses in their army instead of saving their strength and come back at full force.

I my crusade, each unit have to reach the edge of the Battlefield to concede. They literaly flee the battlefield and don't get battle scar. Those who can't reach the edge will have to die in a glorious last stand!

I’m usually fine with concessions but with crusade it’s basically just stealing XP and upgrades from the other player, so I’m slightly disappointed.

I think if you baked some post-game rules into each match so that if someone concedes, you proceed as if the other player continued moving around the board meeting secondary agendas and accomplishing objectives or whatever they're called, it would probably be OK. Like MWG staff already do, "if we continued to Turn 5, I would do this and he would do this, etc." Otherwise, yes, it's kind of a raw deal for the player who won.

Man normally I like watching Steve play because he always acts really positive. This time though... Conceding after turn 1 in a crusade game? I just think it wasn't a good move. He could have played out the rest of the mission, getting xp here and there.

Bit of a different question here but since I'm looking at starting crusade soon I thought I'd ask. Its fairly rare to find crusade batreps, and I don't think I've ever seen one playing around the 2000 point level. Does crusade become too cumbersome and extra rule heavy to play in the long term?

Conceding in a narrative game and to do it that early was very poor form especially in what's meant to be a 'for fun' campaign. You should take battle scars on everything remaining and dave should get a bunch of xp to make up for it although im guessing all of the games are probably recorded already

Conceding in a crusade is just poor sportsmanship. It's supposed to be a fun mode where units get experience and scars. We have a rule in our crusade where if you concede before the battles over then you have to role for battle scars on each of your units same as if you were tabled.

Also, for steve's comment about going first in matched play. I do not think that is true, I think it is only true in matched play AND you are playing one of the GT missions. Otherwise I think you role and pick? or have I forgotten something.

it's reroll 1 to wound. captains give the reroll to hit. now it also only effects core units so characters can't benefit

What a complete waste of time. This campaign overall has been disappointing, but don't even bother uploading battle reports if they're this bad. All your units that "retreat" should get battle scar tests anyways, so doing that just makes for a lame, totally deflating ending.

im disappointed by how often Steve says "i concede" in MWG games. its not fun to watch to be honest, even if its in jest. Dave even telling him that its not about tabling your opponent makes it worse (Dave is being a friendly opponent, and Steve doesnt take the option). Im saddened especially cuz i always find myself rooting for Steve :D

I get that feeling when your dice/rolls just aren't hot and you just don't wanna continue. Do I agree with the conceding turn 1? I'd be a hypocrite if I said I've never done it but only when there's absolutely no hope. In the end, I'd of atleast seen what round two would've been for both sides but I can't fault a man for something I've done.
