Spent 3 years in Ormskirk between 2003 and 2006 as an Edge Hill student. Having Ormskirk right on the doorstep was such a great part of my time at Edge Hill it really had everything you needed, you didn't feel the need to go further afield for shops, pubs, take aways etc. Marmaris was always a favourite with the Edge Hill students, best kebabs, burgers & pizzas in the area. I've been back a couple of times over the years and whilst there have been changes (Edge Hill itself has expanded massively) it's good to see that it hasn't changed too much. It's still essentially the same Ormskirk I remember and long may it stay that way.
Born and raised in Ormskirk. I moved away 18yrs ago to the US. Little bit of Ormskirk info, my dad designed the new church house. Proud of him. Miss home, lived down Burscough street, thank you for this.
Wow! That's fascinating to hear your dad designed the new church house - your family certainly has its mark on Ormskirk for many years to come then! It's a lovely town and one you can rightly be proud of :) Thank you so much for watching - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video, and I hope you get the chance to pop back over the pond and visit again in future!
I agree with you! Ormskirk is a really lovely place - very removed from the big industrial landscape just beside it with its old streets and quiet atmosphere as you say :) I'm very glad you enjoyed your stay there! Thank you so much for watching - I hope you enjoyed the video!
the lay out and the buildings in Ormskirk are lovely. my old school was there, grammar, down ruff Lane, all flats and houses now. crazy when I seen it 2 years back!
It really is a lovely town, with those higgledy-piggledy alleyways and some really wonderful shopping streets in the centre of town! I'm glad it brought back some memories back, even if things seem to have changed from when you last saw it :) Thank you so much for watching - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video!
Enjoyed the video. I lived in Ormskirk for over 30 years, my children went to Ormskirk School in Ruff Lane (which are now apartments). My son worked in Ormskirk Post Office for years (which is now a pub). We all live in New Zealand now, I left Ormy 11 years ago. 🥑🙃🥝😛🌴🌞
Thank you very much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video - I do hope it brought back some good memories of your many years in Ormskirk from the other side of the world :)
I grew up in Ormskirk and left when I was 13 to emigrate to Australia. I went back a few times in the late 90’s/early 00’s, but haven’t been there since 2005. Odd to see how much has changed and how much is still so familiar! Thanks for the video!
You're welcome! It's always nice to look back and see how things have changed, but it is strange that you can still see the old Ormskirk among the new :) Glad to hear you enjoyed the video and that it brought back some memories - thank you so much for watching!
Lived here my whole life and I have to say that you did a great job getting in all the landmarks, however you missed out all the top dogging sights and ormskirk’s most famous pub, The Gingerbread arms.
Totally agree benjam! Me and my now deceased wife always used to go down to the Billinge forest for a quick shag with a few locals. Kooowar she was a proper dirty slag before she had a stroke, couldn’t go dogging after she became wheelchair bound. Anyway… my memories forever live in ormskirk ❤️
Thanks! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video! The little alleyways are really delightful I agree - maybe next time I'm in Ormskirk I can do a little tour of the places I missed! Thank you so much for watching :)
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video - Ormskirk is a lovely town indeed! Thank you very much for watching and subscribing - it means a lot to me :)
Nice walk around the town. I enjoyed it very much. Beautiful and historical. Your walks are always wonderful and enjoyable. Hope to see more soon. Have a great day. How is your weekend? Mine is great. 😀😀
Enjoyed the walk, but you did not mention Park Pool swimming baths & Fitness Centre, even though you passed by it in Coronation Park, and I think the large Morrisons Supermarket alongside the park would have been worth a mention as these are both important amenities.
Thank you so much - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video! My apologies for missing out a couple of those landmarks - there's indeed a lot to take note of in Ormskirk! But thank you very much for pointing it out for us :)
Market Town now ruined by adolescents from all over the UK who use the town as their playground while they're growing up....some never really make the transition. Ormskirk, an annexe to Edge Hill's children
pretty prosperous looking university town, by the look of it bet housing is expensive there, If I may and locals do pardon my daring I would say that actually ormskirk looks so surreyesque
This is one of the things that really struck me about the town too! It's surrounded by very large urban areas in Merseyside and Greater Manchester, but there is something distinctly countryfied about Ormskirk - it is lovely though I have to say :)
I hope you had a lovely time! Ormskirk certainly is a very nice place to visit - particularly with all its riveting history and gorgeous old buildings :) Thank you very much for watching - I really hope you enjoyed the video!
