Smough isn't a chad betraying his comrade if you look closely ornsteins finger and arm was still moving a little meaning he was alive but smough crushed him
@@assassinofvenice8430 So... a chad would leave their comrade to suffer, incapable of fighting, just laying there only able to slightly move his finger and arm. It would've been either Smough or you who kills him, and you damn well know Smough's way of handling it would've been better than yours.
His death is so serious that it’s shown to you twice. Meanwhile all we just want is to go upstairs to see the amazing chest ahead, as foretold by the glowing writing on the floor.
@@NervousNoodles I played the game in spanish (chest = cofre, which only means the treasure type, not the body part) so I didn't understand all the translated "amazing chest" messages at the entrance. I spent like fucking 30 minutes googling and searching for a hidden treasure chest in that room before giving up. Now I just realize what those glowing messages meant lmfao
It would be amazing if one has some accidental death on some Easter egg, like maybe wearing their armor could cause the Easter egg. Like wearing smough's armor could cause or ornstein to fall on him
Kinda think about it. That would be hilarious to see in game first time playing it. Cutscene builds up pressure, tension increases, you expect epic 1v2 boss fight, and then he jumps and dies
actually in medieval times executioners often acted as surgeons and even drs, since they often had the best knowledge of anatomy of anyone around since they, ya know... saw the insides when they did their duties... but yeah. many actually made more money working as drs. even if it was just “on the side,” since most people were not executioners by choice- the history of the profession is actually quite fascinating and worth looking into!
@@mkv2718 Also barbers. Because they were so skilled with honing an edge to razor sharpness and had deft hands, they were often also surgeons. That's why a barber's pole is red and white...bandages and blood.
@@William256 my old buddies last name is Brehm! Haha Yeah you can survive the fall going between the railing but I’d be interested to know if you can falling from on top of the railing, I don’t think you can get up there with cheat engine
Fun and sad fact - Gwyndolin actually bothered to build some railings exactly here, so you can't jump down so fast anymore... Very noticeable in fog gate randomizer runs.
DS1 calculates fall damage based on health percentage. A naked player with 99 health will survive the same falls as one with no health investment and +100% equip load.
@@StephanuSneed though its not based on equip load % just the flat total equip load you have. at the max threshold you will survive a max survivable fall with something like .1% hp remaining or in other words 1 hp. Or maybe 2 if your that extra thicc.
@@yourdad5799 He never takes requests other than that one community post. I requested Gwyn's 4 knights vs Gwyn and his black knights. Then he changed it to Gwyn's 4 nights vs Manus.
"Hey Ornstein, when a challenger comes through, I'll be down here and you be up on the balcony, jump down and do a cool super hero landing, it'll look badass." "I don't know, that's pretty high up, what if I hurt myself?" (Smough plotting to take Ornstein's power) "Nah, you'll be fine."
Smough: "Dude, I told you time and again to stop jumping off that damn balcony! Now I have to fight the Chosen Undead myself because you wanted to be a show off!" Ornstein: "I don't need stairs" Smough: " And Since you broke both your ankles, you don't need your powers do you?
And thus it is once again proven that the key to being a gold clad, ganking knight in service of a fair maiden is to always cast Fall Control before going into battle. Heh.
That makes me realize that fall damage is made differently for PvE than it is for the player. If you roll down there you can survive it (though you take a ton of Damage if you don't use the fall damage negation glitch) but the enemies will die instantly.
This is why Smough is superior. Loved the video and the final scene as well. By the way, how much HP would Ornstein actually lose if he fell from the balcony railing to that spot? I know that players with enough health can survive dropping from the second floor, though they don't have the extra height of vaulting over the railing.
Doesn’t matter how much health you have fall damage is percentage bases you don’t lose a flat amount of health you lose a percent of health depending on how far you fall.
@@championofthedarksoul4200 I'd still like to see what percentage of damage Ornstein takes. Also, player fall damage changes depending on the weight of the equipment they currently have to boot.
@@recklessralph30 needs to be tested: we have access to both hus armour and weapon, so if someone jumps from the top with hus armour and weapon(or the equivalent weight) we can determine if he'd die with player logic
