Yeah I teach my unruly classroom with a massive two handed sword... I threaten them with it saying "If you go to the police or tell anyone you know what I'll do." As I hold it up from under my desk. I rule my classroom with an iron gauntlet as I also wear a full set of gothic mid 15th century plate armor.
watching Griggs stop casting from a safe distance so he can run in and poke Artorias with a toothpick is simultaneously the funniest and most frustrating thing I've seen today
@@SunlightGwyn most of the casters have poo brain and if close enough will use melee attacks instead of rolling away and using their significantly more spells one of the few exceptions is Logan.
Come to think of it why didn’t they? It would’ve been a lot easier I bet if they had armies or groups of warriors to try to link they fire instead of just one dude to do it all.
@@blackknight5465 I can’t entirely say, but a single dragon was worth 3 scores of Gwyns soldiers so I feel like eventually the bosses would slowly trim their numbers over time
@@blackknight5465 Well to begin with, there's a difference between wanting to link the flame and having the strength to do it. Of those who were capable, a lot of them had no interest in linking the flame, such as Logan and his apprentice. Then, to link the flame you have to first reach Lordran. This alone is where most great warriors failed already, many perished before even reaching Lordran alone, let alone leading an entire raiding party inside without being separated by drakes, demons, hollows. Not to mention that Gwyn was probably not stupid enough to leave his kingdom open to attack by any upstart warlord, so the land of Lords probably had many standing and effective defenses against invading armies (take the knights in darkroot garden for example). Also keep in mind that most npcs you meet ingame are of Legend (even the crestfallen warrior is no small pushover), with the chosen undead being one of the most powerful humans to have ever existed by the end of the game by that point in time. Astora, one of the most advanced of the human kingdoms in the game, was almost destroyed entirely by a single great beast, who likely would have been on par with many of the opponents faced in Lordran. Hell, even a single Taurus demon could likely wreak havoc on several villages and a town before it is brought down with major casualties, just imagine what kind of destruction something like the centipede demon could do to a human army, they can count their blessings if they survive with half their men. So to perform a task like that, you'd need scouts who can effectively traverse Lordran without getting killed to avoid traps and ambushes, a way to bypass Gwyn's anti-siege defenses, an army of warriors capable of holding their own against adversaries even Gwyn's own knights struggled to keep at bay. And none of that is keeping in mind the effects of hollowing, or the massive amounts of resources an army of that size and power would require, even a small raiding party of powerful knights is something most kings could only dream of putting together. Even if there were kingdoms capable of this kind of investment, most of the outside world (Lordran as well to be fair) had apparently been torn to pieces by the hollowing of individuals, leaving many great kingdoms either crippled or fallen to ruin entirely. They could barely survive as it is, forget putting together an army. Seemingly, the Knights of Berenike are the only trained warriors who managed to reach Lordran either separately or together, but even they went hollow before reaching Anor Londo despite being among the greatest of Knights. The fact it was literal beef jerky packaged in filthy rags, imprisoned in a cell inside an asylum designed to keep the undead inside, that eventually achieved a feat most gods probably couldn't have achieved on their own if they tried, is almost insulting to the gods themselves.
Artorias: thrusting instead of spinning Every melee NPC: beating the crap out of him onions: tanking damage Laurentius: spamming fireballs Griggs, Logan and Ingward: PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW Petrus: sits in a corner and casts heal
Nah, if you look at the first fight, Patches does like two thrusts then kinda chills and watches the fight until Artorias dies, then runs forwards like he was fighting all along. That's totally the real Patches.
@@aryantiwari1945 yeah, in the second round around the halfway point he started focusing on the casters which were giving him the biggest issues. The third round they were there till pretty much the end which is what got him beat.
Honestly, seeing Patches just sorta not doing much and chillin behind his greatshield just feels accurate. There's a boss you can summon him for in Elden Ring and he does just that before straight up leaving. Also, seeing Logan getting a bit of revenge against Artorias for what he did in round 2 at the end there was neat.
Closest we currently have is Ivory King with the 4 Eleum Loyce knights fighting their charred comrades while you bring 3 summons with you to the bossfight
To be honest, with how Dark Souls 1-3 allows you to summon people, it seems like all of the Souls bosses are also designed to be beat with multiple people. The only fromsoft game I can think of that's 100% meant to be beaten alone is Sekiro
@@willmael7914 Get a load of this filthy casual over here. "Wheelchairs exist, so it's obvious to me that everyone needs them!" Give me a fucking break.
Damn Logan doesn’t miss a beat handing out those Great heavy souls arrows and Heavy Soulspears.... he went all in. That’s what a master wizard looks like
Wouldn't surprise me if Logan did more actual damage than half the group combined since he's only firing super hard hitting sorceries and rarely missing any shots.
@@KaisTheFireWarrior it’s heavy compared to other bosses but with Logan catalyst at 45 and int my soul spears were easily hitting over 600 damage a pop and while Logan probably doesn’t do quite that much I’d imagine comparatively he still did significant damage
Through this all, I would like to give my medals of honou to Griggs, who whipped out a dagger against Artorias and Ingward, who decided to use his FISTS.
@@IHateYTIdentifiers Magic's not bad in DS3, though I say that as someone who doesn't usually play *solely* with magic. I always have a properly scale-able weapon as a back-up, using it when I need to conserve spell casts or if I run out. But yeah, I even made a spellsword sort of character that I really enjoyed. DS3 is very satisfying to play. I would easily say I prefer it over the original Dark Souls, in fact. Though it's not a fair comparison because there's just so much in DS3 and it has the advantage of improved systems and somewhat more finely-tuned gameplay.
Thats the power of Friendship. Imagine if team Firelink went on the undead pilgrimage with no respawns just healing makes you wonder just how far they all could get.
That's such a beautiful thing to say. Probably some modder might do it someday. But for now, at least we can say that we, "TheChosenUndead.exe" was the one who completed the pilgrimage on everyone's behalf, and they were technically our friends too. Pretty Heartwarming
There dead at: •Sen's fortress •the gaping dragon •the entire great swamp •the entire izalith •the drake bridge •anor Londo archers •ornstein and smough They can't survive any area damage so anything like the hydras, the bosses that yield lord souls, the iron giant, the floating skulls that explode before nito, sif, etc. would wreck them, but I'd love to see it
@@chankatime6861 I really don't think gaping dragon or O&S would stand much of a chance. You saw what happened to normal-HP Artorias, and those other bosses are much weaker. All the locations though, I could see them dying with their current braindead AI. Just straight up walking into entirely avoidable deaths. What I would find interesting is a party of all firelink peeps but played by actual people. No respawns. No leveling. Just roleplaying and teamwork.
@@deadinside9565 yeah but I'd be pissed when half my friends can't play anymore because they fell off ledges. But that definitely sounds fun and rage inducing
Gustavo commented how often artorias used thrust attacks ... wich is the joke about : the one fucking ring he does not own... thank you i feel much better having to explain a bloody joke in a comment section
Npcs are designed the be on a similar level to a player fighting and Artorias like many bosses is more designed for one on one fights the aoe effect of his attacks is to ensure his enemy has trouble escaping ha range rather than hitting multiple enemies so yeaaaaaahhhhh
The first round felt like Artorias was being his usual boss self. The second and third round felt like Artorias was acting like an MMO boss. I wonder what loot he would drop...
Soul of Artorias (guaranteed) (Allows the making of his armor) Abyss Greatsword (uncommon drop) Abyss Stained Blue Cloth (uncommon drop) (Allows the user to buff their attack after a long charge) That's all i could think of.
@@sheefgrongus Piece of old blue cloth (rare): "A weird piece of blue cloth found between the body of the Abyss Walker, it seems that is not part of his own, since the size is too small in comparison. Whatever it is, it looks like it was important to him." White fur of Sif (rare): "A hand of fur of a white wolf. Wounded and close to death, Artorias did all what he could to keep his friend and companion alive. Thanks to that, the white wolf will always answer the call of whoever freed his friend from the abyss"
"You let one ant stand up to us, then they all might stand up! Those puny little ants outnumber us a hundred to one, and if they ever figure that out there goes our way of life!"
Can't express how annoying it is dealing with people who do. Especially when they are honorable AT FIRST but when you get one of them low on hp then they gank you
Ngl, considering how only 1 actual knight (crestfallen as well) is among them and the rest are merchants... RIP Majula against any boss... Maybe they could beat Last Giant or Covetous Demon, but I got major doubts against DLC bosses.
@@FabledStone the way staggering works, a dozen tiny attacks are better than single strong ones when artorias staggers the npcs they have actually time to recover between his attacks plus he often changed targets because it's just a simple AI while all the npcs have a single target they're constantly hammering on it's more about the fact he kills most of them in 2-3 attacks but because of the stagger he can only really use his thrust so the chances of hitting the same npc 2-3 times are significantly lower
@@brohvakiindova4452 Thats not really how staggering works but because of the sheer number attacks your explanation checks out. How staggering really works is that Artorias has 130 poise when not charging in the Abyss. That means a total of 131+ poise damage needs to be delt in the timeframe of 5 seconds for Artorias to stagger. So while true that the sheer number of small attacks did stagger Artorias, a single 2 handed Zweihander does more poise damage than three 2 handed Uchigatana attacks. And you can get the Zwei attack off faster than 3 Uchi's. Also Logan's Soul Spear does 80 poise damage leaving only 51 poise left over to be delt which either of the Sieg family could do with one 2 handed attack.
@@DorrionFinley you just explained that's exactly how staggering works I specifically said a dozen tiny attacks, of course a single player with uchi doesn't stagger as reliable as with harder hitting zweihänder 5 seconds is plenty of time for that many npcs to attack and the way the AI really sucks at positioning itself correctly for multiple attacks the faster hitting weapons do a better job stun locking that being said with the sheer number of NPCs, if all were using zweihänder it would be equally as good most likely for player weapon an estoc works similarly good for poise breaking as an UGS or in DS2 dual wielded clubs also wreck almost any staggerable enemy
His other attacks can be interrupted. Pretty much every time you see him get staggered, it's because he tried to do a different attack. His thrust is his only move that can't be interrupted. In other words, he'd actually win more easily if he only used his thrust.
@@giantWario but he gets staggered multiple times doing the thrust, in the early part of round 3, fucking griggs of vinheim staggers him with a dagger as he's pulling back for the thrust
Damn. You know, it would actually be super cool to see this but Artorias at his full strength with his companion Sif. Like fix his arm and give him his greatshield, up his health cause he ain't "hollow", then pair him with his doggo. I doubt him before he was consumed by the Abyss is even in the games files but if someone coded it all in, idk, it'd be cool and something I'd support financially.
@Mrimchaelson Yep, because it’s often referenced in that kind of moments, just like the watchmen lines « I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me! »
@@overlordofkebabs7779 Close one... You mean the one where he had 4x the HP ? Because regular Artorias just get wrecked XD (I knew it’d happen as soon as I saw the line up, but gosh I didn’t expect it to be so bad)
Shows how strong artorias and all of the knights are. A zweihander wielding onion man, bastard sword wielding onion woman, strongest sorcerer known in lordran, pyromancer of the swamp, and many more, all ganking him, and he still puts up a hell of a fight.
*"After seeing his allies fall to the corrupted knight, Sir Logan hammers the final nail in the coffin, striking dear Knight Artorias down with his piercing magic, knowing not anger for the fallen, but sorrow as he walked from the colosseum, unable to have saved those who fought alongside him, on he walked into the tainted dark of the town, just as he was once saved by the choosen undead, he will return the favor, and march on Manus's grave to strike down the one who caused all this misery, and maybe there, he will finally find out what happened to the choosen undead, and what became of them..."*
"I am sorry, Artorias, but as a Knight of Gwyn, I cannot let such a powerful pawn of the Abyss escape. Come back to your senses and surrender now, or prepare to face us." If Young Sif dies during the fight, Artorias comes back to his senses, drops to his knees and, after crying for a while, he asks you to kill him. If Artorias is killed by Ciaran, cinematic with Ciaran stabbing both of her blades in Artorias, and whispering to him that his legend would not be sullied by a mention of his treason. If Sif kills him, Artorias falls to the ground, gives Sif a last headpat and tells her that she's a true warrior, one that defeated even Artorias. If the player defeats Artorias, "I don't know who you are, but please, finish what I started. Take down Manus, who I was tasked to stop"
That was epic..! Thanks BonfireVN!! But wow, the Knights and the Clerics really hold the freaking line.. You can see just how quickly the sorcerers melt down once the frontline has fallen.
@@fastenedcarrot9570 So true. And it was actually soo sick to watch volleys of soul arrows from Griggs and Logan rain upon Artorias whilst the melee mob kept him at bay.
At the end of Ooacile, when all hope seemed lost, a small group of brave warriors marched through the garden, past the Kalameet, and into the place where Knight Artorias finally descended into a abyss made madness. No one knew why they came or how they came to be in the land, nor could anyone understand why they all worked together so well, with magic, miracles, pyromancy, and blades as far as the eye can see, they should of been at each other’s throat or indifferent to one another, but here they stood, marching towards the abyss. Times like these it’s good to remember One should be thankful for the friends they have. A certain Undead was.
