For everyone who is having trouble re-organizing the ini file make sure to check out my video that shows you how to keep it organized: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H9tiZwht4U8.html
Why after I select the area I want(use Preview to select some specific small area), it downloads the scenery of the entire area(the initially selected area in the Global shape button, the big coverage one)? And it seems that there is no difference compared to the specific area(ZL18) and the whole area in resolution
I keep getting a million warnings saying "could not covert texture" and also when I waited for it to download and I spawned in x plane crashed and the note said "could not find files for terrain" can anyone please help?
I'm having trouble with the actual airport because when i put the ortho tiles above the global airports the scenery is good but doesn't have buildings but when i put it below the area of the airport is default and the ortho scenery only kicks in around that
hi, just have a question, so when i create a shortcut for the ortho overlay and move it in my custom scenery folder, then open the scenery packs.ini folder, the overlay doesnt appear, do you know if i am doing anything wrong and/or how to fix this? Ty
Im wondering if I can move the scenery folder to another drive ? where is the link to Xplane ? For example - can you add a drive letter in front of the Custom scenery folder name in the .INI file ? Without confusing XPLANE thanks again
Yes this is possible. I would watch this video to find out how to do it. It doesn't impact performance at all though the one downside is it increases the loading times. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CKKKwF78UmA.html&ab_channel=ThomasRasmussen
I tried to do this in Denver but the airport is like 5k feet from the city and is like its own mountain and is super weird is there anyway to fix this altitude mismatch?
Something odd is happening with the service right now. OSM stands for open street map which helps create the overlay for the tile (buildings, roads etc.). Try building the tile without clicking the check mark stating: "Extract Overlays". This in turn should solve your problem.
Make sure you SHIFT click and not CTRL click the area on the world map before you batch it. Also make sure you selected the X-Plane 11 Global Scenery folder, and not the main Global Scenery folder.
Once again i have another ridiculous problem. I have been trying to get ortho4xp to work for several days, due to how absolutely miserable xplane 11 looks, and just have gotten nowhere. I get to the settings page you show in the vid, and the window is so zoomed in that i can't do anything to get to the bottom of the page to apply the settings. Infuriating. Obviously you would think, Its gotta be some kind of zoom function on the pc? Its not, its all disabled. I don't know what to do anymore. Xplane looks so bad, not enjoyable at all, and just want at least my local area to look good. ANy help GREATLY appreciated.
All good. Sorry. Im dumb. Lol. Not a computer guy. Been on consoles for 30 years now. Just got a really good pc build and am trying to get away from the arcade like flight models of MSFS2020, it gorgeous, but it is NOT a sim. So xplane was the choice, and i instantly regretted it. Looks like minecraft out there in comparison
Ok, issue #45478923758943025768439, the tile size literally cuts my hometown in half, and there is seemingly no way around that at all. Is 2 tiles possible, if so is that the only fix?
My binary Ortho4xp folder does not have the files you mentioned such as the overlays, and I have followed your video step by step, what am I doing wrong? Is this because I should put it in my XP11 Resources Folder?
Make sure it’s below global airports. Or if your using a custom airport make sure it’s below that. That’s the only solution, unless something else happened with your global scenery.
Okay I’m done with these comments. In the video I did it start to finish so there is no possible way for you to mess up if you followed all the steps. Watch the video!
