Ngl, I have three dead teeth in my mouth from a fall I had when I was 11. Chipped them badly, knocked them loose, and they turned this greenish-grey colour. I was tormented relentlessly because of this accident, and it's only been in the last 10 years of my life that I've been able to smile with any confidence and not feel like I need to hide my mouth. Current dentist decided to replace the caps I had with crowns, and I wish this had been a thing when I was younger.. It took 20 years, but at least I don't feel like a freak whenever I smile.

Watching your channel, and shorts, has honestly helped me to be far better about flossing consistently. I've gotten a waterpik as well, and even when depression ramps up, you're always a video away from motivating me to brush my teeth despite it. Thank you, so so much.

No one ever told me dry mouth would cause cavities. I got five cavities in two years and I couldn't figure out what was going wrong because I had never had one before. Well I started taking a medication with dry mouth as a side effect. I switched meds to one that wouldn't and no more cavaties. I wish someone would have told me sooner.

@@thatoneguybones8036 Why so rude? I have two masters, so yes I went to school. It was not a part of my curriculum. The curriculum is different from district to district let alone state to state, so it is inaccurate to say that is part of the basic curriculum in the states.

Before I started braces (I didn't know my teeth were impacted until I realized why the dental floss would always break) my dentist was always: the only thing you need is whitening and you would have great teeth because I have B1 teeth.

Over 1 year, I have been listening to your advice on how to take care of oral hygiene. I want to have braces, but I could at first because I had gingivitis, but you show how to clan properly. Now I am 7 months into my braces, and it is going amazing, and there is no broken bracket just yet that mean I doing something right lol

Dentist absolutely change lives. I was involved in an accident when I was 25 years old almost didn’t make it lost pretty much all my teeth, battled horrible pain. Lost A lot of weight was very unhealthy a dentist gave me back my health gave me back my life.

i think the issues with going to the dentist is a lot of people lack health insurance which means they arent able to get those free cleanings 2-3 times every year, because as someone in my early 20s whose just a few years away from not being able to use my parents health insurance, its scary to think about the cost when i dont have insurance

If you ever live near a college, check to see if they have a dental hygenist program to see if they will give cleanings for free or low cost. My local community college has a dental hygenist program and they give out teeth cleanings for free. If you live near a college that has dental school, you can get those bigger issues fixed for less. This saved me from a lot of scary things and some hefty medical bills.

I had my dentist ask me why i waited until i had to extract 7 teeth before i saw him. My insurance WOULDNT COVER ANYTHING AND ONE SESSION IS 700 BUCKS. I make 400 a week... My rent, utilities, and food takes about 380 of that. So 20 bucks goes to gasoline. Now i have good insurance after working 10 YEARS. Dental is not included with health insurance in the states... Let that sink in.

I had a tooth up and die 9 years after the accident that caused the trauma (flipped by a wave at the beach and slammed chin into the ground, cracking a tooth- it was the one directly below that later died). One of the worst pains ive ever experienced.

I had two damaged teeth in the front from hitting my mouth when i was small. I got root canals at 15 but didn't floss my teeth. When I was about 27, one of the teeth straight fell out of my mouth from decay. I had a partial denture for some years and got a dental bridge about 6 years ago. I floss religiously and never miss a dental appointment now! I'll be 44 this year.

I remember going to the dentist in my teens. They asked me how many cigarettes I smoked a day, and I said, "None". They didn't believe me. Truth was, I was indeed a non-smoker, but the rest of my family smoked - second hand smoke is a real thing!

I don't have the greatest teeth. Doesn't help that I'm allergic to both mint and capsaicin, meaning all Mint and Cinnamon products can't go in my mouth, oh and alcohol, hyper sensitive to it, so mouthwash is usually too painful. Usually get by using children's products, but I've been told they don't have the same level of fluoride as most adult products, plus pre Amazon days it was super frustrating to search dental care aisles for anything non mint.

Both my partner and I have dental issues and.. for me, I may need partial dentures and for him, he may need complete dentures. Due to depression, both of us rarely ever brushed our teeth and it took videos like this for us to start doing so and while his may not be salvageable, most of my teeth are.. "fine" as far as I can tell. I do wish we could afford to go to a dentist but can't.

As for the teeth shifting due to gum disease, I imagine one tooth was lost due to gum disease. Then you lose the neighborhood support and allow the remaining teeth to drift even further apart

That’s what happened to me. I had my back teeth removed and also had advanced periodontal disease. I didn’t get my deep cleans and grafting as recommended and my teeth shifted, gapped and I got a severe overbite. This took a period of 20 years. I just had them removed and got an all on 4. Best thing ever for me.

I have two medications that cause dry mouth. Sometimes I can’t talk because my mouth is so dry. Unfortunately there is no alternative medication. As a patient with an allergy to fluoride, iodine, chloride and a few more. Getting my teeth cleaned is nerve wrecking. The cleaning begins with a fluoride based polish. Great videos.

The biggest problem with dental care is the cost !!! Health insurance should cover all dental care with very minimum copays. You want "perfect" teeth ?? Make dental care affordable, not expensive to the point of bankruptcy!!!!!!!!

Hey bentist Im hoping you can help you with this problem I have. Im 14yrs old and I have a tooth growing on the roof of my mouth as I still have a milk tooth. My dentist told I can either remove the milk tooth and wait 6 months for my tooth to shift to its place which has a 10% chance of happening or I can use braces to correct or retainers. I’m not sure what to do

I've been following Dr Ellie Phillips and she doesn't recommend flossing if you have gum disease and bleeding. In fact, she claims, flossing can provoke gum recession. Flossing damages the healing mechanism in your mouth. She also claims you can regrow the gum tissue. I suffer from gum recession. After using her complete care system, the improvement has been huge. My gums don't bleed anymore and the spots that had lost enamel are re-mineralising to a point where the sensitivity has improved immensely. I also use xylitol mints after meals. She claims the saliva is the key to help re-mineralize the soft spots and protect enamel. For those suffering from gum disease, follow Dr Ellie Phillips. You won't regret it.

I have a bad case of gerd. Most my molars had to be pulled. Insurance wouldnt cover dentures till i tild then that not eating healthy will cost them more money.
