I had a herbst appliance, braces and another appliance that widened my jaw as well. All through middle school. I had a tiny mouth. No teeth pulled then though

I would love to see some educational content about people who have lidocaine tolerances and can't get numb at the dentist. Every dentist I go to I have to sit down and have a pre-appointment to discuss my issues and most have never heard of it before. Almost all of them insist on trying their own cocktail and torturing me just a little bit before they believe me. Last year, I had a tooth die. The infection was really bad. Penicillin, Amoxicillin, and Clindamycin - still the infection wasn't gone. They had to do the root canal anyway to clean out the puss so the infection could get resolved. With the infection (which I have heard can reduce the effectiveness of local anesthetics) and my tolerance, the lidocaine did nothing. I felt the searing hot tip burning away inside my tooth, the worst pain of my life.

When I was younger, around 16-19 years old had a similar case, molar was turning necrotic inside and my dentist back then was saying "I don't want to give you too much anesthesia because don't know how will you react." I was like... lady, pump me full and knock me down if you can!. Her husband, a more experienced dentist and endodontist, did just that, pumped my jaw full of anesthetic and got my first root canal.

As a teenager I had jaw surgery and my wisdom teeth would have been removed then. However, after the X-ray they found that I had no wisdom teeth. The running joke with my family is that I have no wisdom as I have no wisdom teeth. This is a joke I started by the way, and I still find it amusing.

I got braces in October and my sister also got braces in august when she got braces she was in lots of pain like your eating your food like a pill. But on the second day I was eating like you have nothing on your teeth. ( I also have herbs )

I don't really know if you read or reply to comments, but I had a situation I wanted to ask you about if you do. When I had braces, one of my teeth went out way more than they wanted it to. The woman who was working on me , not the orthodontist by the way, took her finger and literally just shoved my tooth back. Is that normal? Is it something that you would do or was she wrong in doing that? I've been wondering for many years what to think about it.

So what does it mean if you get the galvanic shock happening sometimes with forks and aluminum foil (not that I chew on aluminum foil nowadays but I did a few times as a dumb child 🤦‍♀️) but all the cavities I have are composite? I do have two cavities from when I was 8 back in the 90s. They are not metal colored but could they still have some metal material in them?

I was missing my lateral incisors for a few years before I got braces (mainly for my cross bite but also because of crowding) I need braces again because I only got braces on my upper jaw, all my fangs are in now but they need to be straightened.

Question unrelated to the video. I have a dentist appointment next week, and in the time since my last one earlier this year I have chipped two teeth. I plan on talking to my dentist next week, but wanted to ask how concerned you would be if it was you or one of your patients? That I can remember, before this year I have never chipped or broke a tooth, so I am a little concerned that it has happened twice in the last 6 months. Since my last appointment I also bought my first electric toothbrush and have gotten better at flossing and brushing regularly. Most days I only brush once in the evening but that is better than my once a week or less from before. Also want to say thanks, your videos have contributed to why my brushing hobbits have gotten better in the last year. That and seeing what a trip to the dentist costs.

The coating on tanghulu is really thin (or at least the kind you find in the freezer section), so it normally doesn't cause problems. Worst case scenario, it's thick but you still want to have it, you'll have dissolve with saliva before biting and then what's the point of eating the tanghulu in the first place. And I believe they use hawthorn for tanghulu.

My brother waited for his wisdom tooth and he has an obsessed and it caused infection in his throat and chest and he was in the icu and was told 3 more days he would have died he had to have the dr go in and the cut his throat open to scrape the infection off, and then had drain tubes, and it was crazy

i got my silver fillings removed and they replaced it with white filling me warning me about sensitivity and thankfully my tooth had No sensitivity after that it was done a year ago so yea😂😂

@bentist is there a way you can get my score sheet maybe? My insurance does not approve my braces because I’m over the age of 21 but I’ve done some research and I’ve found some information about people , that has a bad condition referring to as medical necessity/ medical necessary to ameliorate severe pain. hi. i was very depressed for 3 years and i didn't even feel like brushing my teeth. I have terrible breath now and i don't know what to do. I have to chew gum everyday when i go to school to cover up the smell and i don't think that works too. i do brush and scrape my tongue everyday now. 95% of people should get their wisdom teeth out??? I assume that is only if the teeth don't come in properly? My wisdom teeth came in just fine. But then I did have four bicuspids removed during my orthodontic as a kid (I only have 1 bicuspid in each quadrent). I'm guessing that made enough room in my mouth for the wisdom teeth to not cause me a problem. But if wisdom teeth cause so many people problems, then why did humans evolve to have them to begin with?

As he has said in his vids, the plaque that builds on your teeth during the day will start to harden and turn into calculus (imagine an immovable plaque boulder on your teeth) after just 24 hours. Once it starts to harden you can’t remove it with brushing anymore, it requires the dental tools at the dentist office. That’s why they say it’s important to brush twice daily and see the dentist every 6 months and be very consistent in this care. Knowing all that, do I brush even every day? No. Do I floss daily? Not even close. Hadn’t been to dentist for a few years multiple times in my life. Luckily I guess I have good teeth genes because I’ve only had to have a handful of cavities throughout my life and no major dental work (other than wisdom teeth removal). Some people just have bad/sensitive teeth and still have major issues even though they diligently take care of their teeth 😊
