As odd as it may seem, orthodox rabbi is correct. The Torah was written for a group of people that made a covenant. It is important that the people of God keep a close bond and identity. This bond with G-d is important for christians to this day (even though they do not know this). The Torah was written to protect and nurture. G-d makes laws that are good for human creatures even though His gaze maybe different from what it may appear to humans. the Rabbi asks you to follow the teachings. From what is said in the vid, he is a good teacher. He as a teacher cannot say anything else; but it is understood that as a Jewish gay person you are a special human creature, gifted. These things can't be written scriptures. Humans as a society can only handle certain kinds of truths. It is for each gay Jew in prayer and wisdom to make adjustments but still respect and honor the Jewish community. ( you can tell I'm not Jewish).
Ironically, A gay person giving up homosexuality is like a Rabbi giving up Torah. The Rabbi who gives up Torah is the one that will help gays give up homosexuality.
An informative video. It gave me better understanding on this issue. I would say that as God admonished Cain to conquer the sinful impulse, we get inclinations, and we run with them, and let them end up ruling our life. I think this is the problem with Gay. It's sinful in the end. Yet in reform judaism they teach when the gay person is lawful enough, what can we do but live and let live and get along as best we can. The gay jewish man in this video seemed a decent and law abiding man, with a good attitude on life. I doubt that the lawgiver Moses would have much of a problem with him.
tremblando delante Dios here is the first part ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AtI3c8nSvIE.html then you ll see the following parts in the side
Torah bieves in reincarnations (gilgulim). I feel very intense awe, respect, admiration, and compassion for any soul that is experiencing such a lonely, painful, challenging incarnation right now. May G-d, who gives you challenge also give you strength to deal with it, and give you a lofty reward for all this.
Can't this guy take a medicine that reduces or eliminates sexual desire? That would make celibacy easier at least? Poor guy, I feel sad for him, but his religion is what it is. If he truly believes, he'll have to be celibate and just dedicate his life to intellectual pursuits, friendship and charity. So sad because he's obviously suffering here.
This is the same thing I come across as a Jehovah's Witness.... God said that man must not lay down with men, as they do with women....Even physically man and woman match perfectly.... But a man who is unable to marry a woman and thereby have a lifelong companion plus fulfill his sexual needs, is " forced" to live alone....which I personally find cruel....unless he lives with his family or a group, but he's still not going 2 b able to have the loving relationship that a couple have.....Ive always wondered about this, and know how much deeply religious people suffer, who have this problem.....
i have to cope with that deep loneliness . i am not attracted to women [ and attracted to men ] they forced me to marry a beautiful woman and they told me to think of a man in bed . it didn t work . i couldn t have sex with her , neither could i kiss her in her mouth . i am religious and lonely and i don t see any other way .
Let them give advice to fast on alcohol, food, drugs, meat, dairy, cooked food or any food, doing more prayers and confessions for a long list of smaller sins. Starting with all this small things one by one - they will easier handle any fasts.. also abstention from sex.. Also food fasting and preparation for confession helps to become awake, to realise, to do introspections, to become able to distinguish perversions, to see better the reason-effect relations between things.. to get the picture and clarity of the mind.
This Rabbi does not apologise for Judaism, he does not conceal the EMES of Torah teachings regarding homosexuality, he actually teaches the correct view of what Torah says about hoosexuality. yet at the same time he is loving and sensitive to the pain of this Jewish gay man. There is no need to apologise for Torah. We can learn from this Rabbi how to stick to Torah principles while still having ahavas yisroel.
The whole issue is that God will not hate this man the rabbi, but He would want him to change because with God all things are possible. And if we look at how God feels about homosexuality we must look and realise what He did to Sodom and Gomorrah.
Actually this is not correct. God literally authored the Torah. Even Deut. which was initially written by Moses was incorporated as part of the Torah by God directly telling Moses exactly what to write down in Deut. even to the exact letters to use to make up the words.
Suvariboy, you state I am wrong. That the Bible was written by men. Show me proof the Bible was written by men. Btw... your post from some reason doesn't appear in the thread on the webpage. I only saw it in the notification bell which is why in order to respond to you I have to actually post it as a reply to antonio S.
gays are not the majority of sexual beings but god made them...he made gays as he made people with different tastes and it is not healthy nor fair to try to make them otherwise...accept respect and allow them to be happy as they are...
MAN HAS CHOICES TO FOLLOW , ACCEPT OR REJECT ?. THE GAY HAVE CHOSEN TO REJECT !!. THEY CREATED THE NEW GAY BIBLE , TO SUIT THERE AGENDA !!!. THE BIBLE IS CLEAR ON THIS SUBJECT ; GENESIS 1-- 28 , PROVERBS 18- 22 AND 1 CORINTHIANS 6: 9-11 . OPEN YOUR HART TO GOD !!.
I go by God's Word and not by men wants: Genesis 2:24, Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13, Genesis 1:24-32, 1 Genesis 2:24, Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13, Genesis 1:24-32. Now Hell is real and is coming very soon, even if you think that you will live 100 years and Every Active Homosexual and Homosexuality Sympathizer is bound to Hell for an Eternity, unless you come to repentance and God forgives you. God is not a wimp that will teach one thing and do another, no matter how emotional you want to be and how much music and other stuff you are trying to pull out of your hat, you will never overcome God's Word. I feel sorry for homosexuals because they are bound to Hell and there is no two ways about it.
Elohim doesn't accept sexual immorality, not in a normal marriage, or gay marriage. If more and more people became gay, the human race would become endangered. Just because you have sexual feelings doesn't make you gay. But if we want to follow Elohim ,all of us must take up our cross , make sacrifices , otherwise we are rebelling, turning away and In the end separated and it's not worth losing Yehoshua
Elizabeth Ann How silly of u. If ever one were single, like St. Paul said was the better course the human race would be endangered. Just drop your prejudice and appreciate the diversity in humanity.
ex between two men is wrong . but love between to men is not prohibited . you can t tell a man who is not attracted to women to stay alone all his life !!!!
The first rabbi in the beginning is choosing to take the Torah out of context. The Pharisees did the exact same thing. Doing that with s smile is just as damaging. He is inducing an unimaginable pain upon someone else. Homophobes are the most unempathetic cowards hiding their excuse behind religion. RELIGION!! WHEN GOOD PEOPLE DO BAD THINGS YOU CAN ALMOST ALWAYS BLAME RELIGION. That first rabbi is a prime example of this.
What a pity that you do not believe in Yeshua as your Messiah. I know of many homosexuals who were delivered from that terrible curse in His Mighty Name!
