The visuals of the previous ones were a step up too, and the use of more professional looking footage just fit the video better in my opinion. It had a bit of a more polished and professional video essay feel.

I don't have any videos on it, but here's what I can say: I think that the Magi are probably members of the priesthood from Arabia. It's important to recognize that the scriptures do not wholesale equate gentiles with pagans. Noah, after all, was a gentile, and he functioned liturgically in that context. Similarly, Jethro appears to function in a priestly capacity within the Noahic order, which has provisions for priesthood, sacrifice, and so forth. Studying the heavens was an essential part of priestly duties both in Israel and the nations, as the heavens regulated liturgical time and were bound to the core of the symbolic wiring of creation within which liturgy, temples, and sacrifice functioned. Across the nations of the world we find evidence for remnants (and sometimes more than this) of the Noahic order which was directed towards the service of the one God but polluted by the devils into idolatrous activity. The pilgrimage of the magi to honor Christ reflects the Isaianic hope that the nations of the world will bring gold and frankincense to the place of God's dwelling. The priestly identity of the magi has rich symbolic freight, as we read at the end of Isaiah that God will take some from the nations into priestly and Levitical service- a duty formerly restricted to restricted tribal lineages within Israel. Matthew ends his Gospel by describing Christ's injunction to the Apostles from a mountain to take the gospel to all the nations of the world, because He will be "with you always." And so we have a link back to the beginning of Matthew: at the beginning, Jesus is Immanuel- "God with us." At the end of the Gospel, Jesus promises the endurance of His personal (and thus divine) presence so that the Apostles will baptize all nations into the "Name" of the triune God. That Jesus does this upon a mountain underscores the cultic aspects of this passage: the mountain is the place of God's dwelling. Throughout Matthew, there is a great deal of priestly language and associations tied to the apostolic ministry, and the command to the apostles to bring the divine Name (the Name dwells in the Sanctuary- see Deuteronomy 12) to the nations of the world ties back into the priestly gentiles bringing an offering to the place of Christ's dwelling. This is the sanctification of all the nations of the world so that all mankind can be brought near unto God. Perhaps we can draw broader lessons from this as well about the way the Church engages with the religious traditions of those to whom she ministers. Undoubtedly there are certain aspects of those unbaptized nations which is simply idolatrous and must be rejected firmly. Yet this is not the *whole* truth. Even paganism itself is a *perversion* of something real. The pagan gods are diabolical perversions of genuine archetypes of creation which inhere in the mind of God. And so the Church in her wisdom has consistently strained out what good there is in the traditions of unbaptized nations and offered them upon the altar of God as Eucharist. The beginning of the New Testament can be seen as the opening salvo in this great task.
