Sorry seraphim your first point is way off anything in scripture. The absolute weight of the new testament in conjunction with the old testament is against your first point here.
How would you respond to Protestant reformed theologian (Calvinist) Anthony Rogers? He has a RU-vid channel with a video on Genesis 1:26 "contra Heiser" where he insists that it's _not_ the Divine Council in view.
Genesis 1 is Lucifer and the fallen angels. They made man in their image. Man is an idol, a trap to hunt angels. One Gospel: Gospel (GOOD ANGEL) of Reconciliation. Jesus Christ came into THEIR kingdom to reconcile fallen angels unto Himself. We are the fallen angels (ELOHIM) kept in DNA chains of darkness. If you do not confess being a fallen angel in Lucifer's kingdom, then you are an unbeliever. Unbeliever = those that claim to be made in the image of ELOHIM(gods). REPENT FALLEN ANGELS.

Seraphim how do you interpret hebrews 12:16-17 which says that Esau did not find any room for repentance? Do you see this only in terms of reobtaining the birthright?

After 2000 years of Orthodoxy and multitudes of Holy Fathers and Saints, with proven ascetic experience, who wrote multitudes of theological texts we need some unknown faces with questionable background and agendas, to listen their BS.? pfffffff.... Won't happen in my case. I leave them to Protestants.

If you correctly understood Matt 23,9 how about you explain to me following verses: Matt 19,19 ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ Matt 19,29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father... Matt 21,31 Which of the two did the will of his father? Mark 1,20 And immediately He called them, and they left their father Zebedee... Mark 5, 40 He took the father and the mother of the child... Mark 11,10 Blessed is the kingdom of our father David... Luke 12,53 Father will be divided against son and son against father... John 8,56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad. Acts 5,30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree... Acts 7,2 And he said, “Brethren and fathers, listen..." etc. Bible is not contradictory. Your misinterpretation makes it look like it is. So, it is your fault, whether you like it or not.
You do realize the gist of the technique they are referring to is 1. Read your Bible everyday 2. Read large parts 3. Pay very close attention to how the Bible portrays a story 4. Notice when stories are told similarly. When the Same phrases are used. When the grammar is similar. 5. Ask yourself “why is it there” This is what you do when you are trying to understand a text. It exists, but it needs to be explained. Go and read the churches hymnogrqphy, it’s loaded with people making typological and pattern connections between the lives of saints and Old Testament passages. The gospels do this. This is quite literally what is meant by Christ fulfilling the Old Testament prophecies. He is in the fullest way embodying Israel in the Old Testament. That’s standard orthodox theology. You need to be super careful about how you treat the fathers. Don’t be like the Protestant who uses a Bible passage as a proof text. You shouldn’t use the fathers like proof texts. Because you end up with and endless cycle back and back and back that never touches the Bible. There’s nothing that says only canonized Saints can make any legitimate realizations of what the Bible is saying. And most of the fathers didn’t write on most of the Old Testament. And most that did, there works haven’t been translated into English. You are highly limited in what topics you can even learn from the fathers because of this. At the end of the day, whatever you get out of the Bible does need to be tested against what is canonically known. Go to the liturgy, go to the fathers, ask your bishops. Yes. But don’t treat the Bible like an unknowable mystery that only a guru can understand. Search the scriptures daily. Acts 17:11. Go read the passage. They were called noble for this.
Just to echo some things the above commenter said, the Church Fathers themselves were not averse to studying carefully non-Orthodox exegetes who had useful insights. For example, Tychonius was a Donatist commentator on Scripture whose work was studied by and influenced a number of important Fathers of the Church, including St. Bede and St. Augustine. St. John Chrysostom also encourages his audience to reflect on the things he has said and to compare them with what the Scriptures say to see if he has spoken rightly. There are non-Orthodox interpreters of Scripture whose work is genuinely profitable and useful. Of course, they should be read with discernment, but the same is true for Orthodox writers.
Great topic. It's the foundation of our existence. God said to Adam and Eve. Ok, so you want to be as a god, making your own rules about Good and Evil. The Ark of the Covenant is the original icon and we actually did see YHWH’s form in the Old Testament through the Angel of the LORD who destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, pardoned Abraham, fought with Jacob, and spoke with Moses. Icon veneration goes as far back as the Old Testament. It says do not make for yourselves. God directed them to build the Ark of the Covenant which is two cherubim, one on each end. This is an icon they would use in order to honor God. It says “do not make for yourselves”. It says nothing about if you can make them to honor God. In fact, making them to honor God is encouraged as I had shown in Exodus 25 where they built the Ark of the Covenant (Old Testament prophecy fulfilled in Christ with God sitting enthroned between two angels like how the two Angel were in Christ’s tomb and watched Him resurrect)
Umm...no. It is the temporary and "fading" REFLECTION OF the glory of God that is in Moses' face. See 2 Cor. 3:7, part of what Paul calls, "the ministry of death." Sharing in the divine nature is taught (2 Peter 1:4): BEING God is not. Sorry.
