Hi, I have a Ortofon OM cartridge fitted with a 5E stylus. Is it possible to upgrade with OM10 or 20 stylus to that cartridge. Also have a Ortofon Concorde Mk1 fitted with a 5E, same question regarding this upgrade to OM10 or 20 stylus. I got these cartridges with a turntable I just bought. Thanks.
I will try on my OM 10 what was the best I couls do on my OM 30 (too bright for my setup) which was 1.70 grams of VTF, 0 additional VTA, and 1.25 grams of anti-skate. I also have a OM 20 on the way.....for my setup; I like the OM 10 much more for it's bass -range BOOGIE over the SUPER NEUTRAL-FLAT OM 30.....but currently at 1.50 grams VTF and 1.25 grams anti-skate.....on classical, the deep bass frequencies are distorting slightly....this MIGHF FIX THIS !😊
I think the main difference is that the lower tracking force will resullt in less wear on your records. There should be less distortion with loud records and the quality of the diamond is better but, overall the difference in the sound will be slight.
