Hi, and thanks for you kind words ! To be honest, it was (and it's still ) a bit tough period of time.

Since the RC hobby has mostly transitioned to electric motors instead of the pleasant smell of gas/nitro and the wonderful smoke, I have given up on the hobby. your review took me back years when I spent hours to fine tune these engines :)

Thank you for these such nice words! I truly appreciate it. I must say that right now, when the future of modeling has passed into the hands of brushless and efficient electric motors, a future where the li-po battery replaces the quarter gallon of methanol fuel mix, flight controllers that are so easily reconfigurable to almost any configuration of your aircraft, of course, internal combustion engines it is impossible to survive. They are expensive, resource-intensive, and difficult (compared to brushless ones) to maintain, configure, and adjust. By the way, there are areas where the use of internal combustion engines (it doesn’t matter whether they are glow or gasoline) is the only possible option. A huge number of these engines are still in the hands of modelers, and one of the tasks of CrazyEngines channel is to bring these engines back to life with the hands of their owners, listen to how they sound (and this is something!!!), how they smell (the fantastic smell of Klotz oil) , and much more. Thank you for your kind words, stay tuned, I have a lot more to say and talk about. With wishes of a good day!

If that is a pumped engine, it may not draw enough fuel without the electric starter. I believe that the crankcase is vented by a tiny hole under the valve cover into the intake port. I am hoping that someday one of these comes my way.

Thank you very much for your comment ! I'm curious about this engine internal design, so will take a look inside in my next videos. Also, I think, that you're right regarding the reasons for a such behavior - probably, there is necessary to prime engine more, to fill the whole fuel lines. I'll try to investigate this in next stories. Thank you and have a nice day !

Do you remember what size of prop on this engine?

Hi, and thank you for your question. I make this run with MAS 18x6 prop.

sounded a little dry inside there. I'm only saying that because the sound quality of your videos is so good you can actually here the gentle contacting sounds between components. Oh... there's no oil vent. thats interesting.

Yes, I also found that this "Alpha" sounds flat, no lovely low, bass tones. Even my wife half an hour ago told me, that the sound isn't so good 😊. I think, that the answer should be found in the special FS 155 muffler. Next runs I will replace it by a simple exhaust or by another muffler. Thanks, b.t.w.,you gimme additional discovery direction ! Thanks a lot !

Exactly, no vent also surprising. Can you imagine, how much oil is jumping inside ? When I dismantle yesterday the engine from the bench, and occasionally turn it muffler side down, I've got a lot of oil on the ground. Interesting, that oil was very nice color, a little bit darker, than a new from the bottle, but smells fine. That probably means, that O.S. idea, how to fill the engine inside with oil (there is now way out, except exhaust), work well. How well - it will be interesting to look inside the engine after the cycle of test runs.

I have the same engine. it runs fine but when idling and tilt the aircraft 45 degrees nose up I notice it wants to die. Not sure if this is my low idle too rich or too lean. can you post a video performing a fine tuning of this engine? thank you so much for your videos

Thank you very much for your comment ! Tuning this engine is quite tricky, should say. It's equipped with integrated fuel pump, with special regulator, and all this thigs are working with carburetor, so we've a bit complicated "fuel system". Basically, you can operate only with HS needle, making fuel\ air mix richer or leaner, and the key operating point - fuel quality needle. OS Engines basically say's that factory settings are the best. But of course, you can try to adjust it a little, to find the best point. I do not sure, that I'll be able to make such requested video in few coming day's, it's winter and very cold right now, so all settings which will be fined. couldn't work with you current climate. Thank you and have a nice day !

thank you very much for your answer. Yes it is winter here in Seattle as well, I'm tuning the engine right now at the R/C field and it is 0 degrees celsius. so pretty chill 😂

@ Hi, thank you for your comment ! I've exactly the same temp at my backyard 🙂, I can't promise you, that I'll do this today or tomorrow, but I'll do this this week or two. I think, that few steps of OS FS 155 Alpha fine tuning will be interesting. Thank you, wishing you a nice day and good luck with your engine !

Thank you so much! that video is going to be fun. I had some fun yesterday at the club and I think I got it where I wanted to. So I'm happy, I might do another round Today between flights. Good day good sir
