Ahead of the 2023 Oscars we look back at our chat with Austin Butler and director Baz Luhrmann, to talk about bringing Elvis to life.
In our interview with Austin Butler, Austin spoke about becoming Elvis and the 18 month training schedule it took for him to master Elvis' voice, accent and dancing and he spoke about the best piece of advice that Tom Hanks gave him.
Austin Butler also told us about the moment he and Priscilla Presley danced at The Met Gala... and how weird it is to be recognised in bathrooms!
Baz Luhrmann opened up about telling the Colonel's story, how Elvis and The Colonel were more similar than people think and how Baz Luhrmann compared Elvis to Eminem!

Great interview! The host really brought out such sincere and heartfelt emotions and answers from Austin. You can tell they had a genuine rapport and mutual liking for each other. Well done! Can’t wait to see the movie - I know it is Oscar worthy!

Sad Baz & Austin weren’t rewarded by Oscar !! Meant the world to me & to aus im sure . He & movie sure we’re super snubbed . But Austin is so talented he will go on & do great film work . Hopefully Baz will make at least one more film & try to perfect the 4 hr version for the Elvis & Austin fans ❤

I've never wanted to see a movie over and over. I saw if 5 times. But there's so much to see. I think Austin is on a real rocket ship to stardom here. We know it's Austin being elvis. But because we miss elvis so much we are, fascinated with HOW DID AUSTIN DO THIS.
