Yes! He knows how to be really funny without being crass. I actually love Jimmy Kimmel on late night tv but it doesn't translate so well to daytime. What is nice is that he's very comfortable up there so it makes everyone relax.

The people behind the scenes deserve the credit. The actors and directors wouldn’t be able to do their jobs without all the prep work, determination and promptness of these individuals who make sure films are completed within budget and within the required time period. Among other responsibilities, they do have the most to do for a film.

I didn't really hear a lot of laughter. He made the same recycled jokes he's been making like: - Movies being too long - Animated movies are for kids - Actor X is too old to be dating person aged Y - Oscars event is too long. Then on top of that, he brings up things that he doesn't have the chops to make a joke about like: - RDJ's past with addiction - Greta Gerwig being snubbed which puts her in an uncomfortable situation where she can't agree or disagree since it would mean she thinks one of the other directors doesn't deserve to be nominated. I saw an interview a few days ago with him and Sandy Kenyon. Jimmy said he writes all his own jokes on his shows. He runs them by his wife (who's a producer on his show) and various other people in the industry and out the industry to see how they drop. But he doesn't write all the Oscar jokes.

The highlights of the show imo were - Ryan Gosling singing the Ken song with guitarist Slash from Guns n Roses. Listen loud as poss while you dance around the room!🎸 - Emma Stone's lovely acceptance speech (with a broken zipper back of her dress she was very embarrassed about shame) - previous Oscar winners introducing this years' Oscar nominees for Best Actor and Best Actress. And have a look at Emily Blunt's dress. Quite spectacular! The lows for me were Billy Eilish song and John Cena walking across the stage naked although that was supposed to be funny. It was a lovely show. No craziness but very watchable nonetheless.

It was a funny monologue, and I honestly had to get to these comments sections before realizing that Kimmel's joke about Robert Downey Jr. was some sort of 'shocking' bad taste moment. Kimmel told a moderately edgy joke, Downey dealt with it humorously and with class (ahem, ahem Mr. Will Smith) and then everyone moved on. Not the biggest deal.
