My son was born sunny side up with shoulder Dystocia. I had an amazing obstetrician and he was fine, no problems. Me on the other hand, i had psd and for a week after delivery had no feeling in my leg. It slowly came back. It was a long labor. At the time i didnt realize how dangerous it could be as i wasnt told until i was actually pushing and even then i wasnt fully aware of the dangers. Just thankful for Dr. Moersh and her team. They acted and got him out quickly. Very thankful and very blessed!

She also forgot to mention before the Obstetric doctors perform the Zavaline Manoeuvre, they will need to use a Tocolytic agent such as Terbutaline ( 0.25mg given subcutaneously via injections) or Gylyceryltrinitrate (given sublingually ) to relax the uterus as the uterus will have already have contracted down once the fetal head has been delivered and the meds must be given before any attempt to replace the fetal head back into the vagina to prevent uterine rupture.

She also didn't mention to also bleep the Neonatologist doctor as to the risk of Brachial plexus injury and for the baby to be accessed for any injuries as soon as possible after the delivery.

Thank you for a superb video. Episiotomy, mentioned at 7:34 minutes, is totally avoidable with painless, gradual, 'Birth Canal Widening' to 10cm diameter, achieved prior to the start of labour, over 7 days, commonly achieved by mum who employ a Doula or birth companion, so ask mum. Wikipedia UK 'Perineal Massage' page mention paper that argues starting BCW at 26 weeks, so 28-week babies benefit also. USA use the term Perineal Stretching, which refers to stretching of the fibrous coat of the pelvic floor muscles, which makes them super elastic, capable of stretching to 3 times their original length, with no fibre avulsion or ripping. The skin will not rip or tear, if stretched painlessly and gradually over 7 days, prior to onset of labour, to 10cm and most men know of earlobe stretching, producing a hole into which a decorative ring can be inserted. Unlike the earlobe, which is made only of skin, and once stretched it remains stretched; the skin between the legs has skin and pelvic floor muscle supporting this skin, so this pelvic floor muscle will contract back down, closing off the 10cm opening, that allowed baby out of mum's tummy, once baby has exited mum's tummy. Episiotomy damages the skin and pelvic floor muscle, which can allow bacteria to enter causing necrotising fasciitis. Some centres do intra-partum 'Birth Canal Widening', but once baby's head pressed against the pelvic floor muscle causing the perineal skin to bulge, this Perineal massage needs to stop, as it can encourage tearing. Particularly in the case of 'occipito-posterior head' presentation, where baby faces mums' tummy and not mum's spine. If baby is large, pudendal nerve block in anticipation could be considered as a form of pain relief for mum. the largest baby delivered by Birth Canal in UK, was in Gloucester and weighed 15lbs but needed time on SCBU. Do the new Ultrasound scan machines give a reliable measure of baby's weight?
