One of the reason why Aqua choose Akane rather than Kana is mentioned in episode 12. Because Kana is an idol, there is nothing good happens with boys around. He even overlapped Ai's dead body(his worst trauma) with Kana last episode...
@@SkeletalGoose doesn't really matter what color. That scene just wants to tell you daddy is quite the psycho and is still committing murder up to date. The character was given a name in the manga, but since they already put this scene out, I doubt she will show up in the future.
It didn't help that they cut a scene out that introduces her and sets this up. I assume they wanted it to be shocking as an ending but it just made it confusing lol.
From here on out the series will revolve around Ruby one way or the other. You will get a lot of answers like the twins father, who that person who died was, a LOT of dark Ruby. More detective Akane and a lot of oh s moments. Season 3 is going to be very very dark. That's why it was all foreshadowed in the opening and closing songs. You got to pay attention.
I mean realistically why would Aqua chose Kana? Did she actually do anything for him? Did she try to know Aqua better? Did she help him in any way? The only pro Kana argument is see is that she is cute and she likes Aqua. Their relationship is a shallow and surface level crush compared to the deep connection and understanding that Aqua and Akane have.
Na I disagree kana is the only one that really breaks through aquas shell and he is the only one who can really prop her up they are able there both damaged people who are able to unintentionally or not give each other a break from their pain and have fun.
@@JayPlays-yr4yq which is honestly just sad, if you are gonna make them the end game. Why don't you develop that relationship beforehand, if they really are the end game at the end of the series, that relationship would just feel very shallow.
He maybe "chooses" Akane over Kana because last episode he considered him as a danger to Kana's reputation as an idol, he literaly imagined her dead like Ai.
@@citoyen_anthony That's an anime only invention. In the manga he just didn't want any other girl to end up like Ai and the scene of imagining Kana as Ai never happend.
@@TheGenreVerseremember Idols in J and Kpop are not allowed to be in relationships. It will ruin their career. And some idol companies even engages in making their idols uncomfortable by allowing fans to touch them. So if Aqua dates Kana and it's found out... Kana could be targeted by a crazed fan.
@citoyen_anthony nah its not like that, going by your logic he shouldn't have also chosen Akane because he has no reason to anymore? Remember he tried denying his feelings for akane on ep 11 but he is already attached to her. For the first time in his life he decided to do something other than revenge. I don't think he will choose Akane for a reason like that. Aqua may be a manipulative person but he is not an asshole like that. Akane wasn't a replacement for Kana
@@jedsale8971 Akane is not an idol, she is a stage play actor. Actors don't have thay stipulation like Idols... Idols in Japan and Korea are sold to the audience as pure untouched girls. So if they are in a relationship, the fans literally will stop supporting them and the even crazier ones will stalk to attack them.
@@TheGenreVerse It's a nice tease for season 3 basically, that scene is a while later after the events of this episode, but if you wanted to hook people for the next season then this is probably a good scene to use.
Kana's state of mind after knowing Aqua and Akane are together will be explored in S3. It actually became its own arc, leading to the "15 years lie" project actually going forward. BTW "15 years lie project" is actually considered cut content from the anime. In the manga, during the prologue (= when Ai was still alive) each chapter of the manga included a small interview on one character about the newly aired movie "15 years lie" which content is basically the whole backstory about Ai's death. People who got interviewed include the main cast in Strawberry Pro (Aqua, Ruby, Kana, Miyako... you name them) and the director (the one who raised Aqua as an actor). From the beginning of the manga, we were basically told that this movie that reveals the dark truth behind Ai's death is part of Aqua's final revenge and should be the closure of this whole series. But the anime cut all the future scenes from the prologue simply just to fit the whole prologue into one episode.
The scene post credits isn't the past it is the future, they are Aqua's father and a new character. Akane deduced who is the corpse when she said "he was your..." (old friend)
Dark Ruby Saga upon us... this will get interesting. Also don't worry about the final scene for now... reasons... anime itself ended on chapter 80 of the manga, that scene is chapter 109... so don't hyper focus on it.
From what I've seen, Akane has given Aqua just as much and more than Kanna has given him. So that's why I believe he chose her. But, yeah, the series is still going and things can change. I was happy to see it though since I am an Akane fan. There's also the fact that Kanna is going to be an idol, and idols in Japan pretty much cannot be in any sort of romantic relationship. If you want to know why then take Ai as an example.
Some important info revealed in this episode with the Raven girl, if the stalker is the college aged person and the father was the middle school aged person at the scene of the crime that would mean if Himekawa is 4 years older than Aqua, you could say the father was only about 11 years old when he had Himekawa. And so the plot thickens…
@@TheGenreVerse the fan was definitely the stalker who was the college aged kid and the other witness/accomplice would have to be the father who is middle school aged and you could assume be the same age as Ai. Makes you wonder if Himekawa’s parents suicide was it because the mother perused a minor and maybe the the fake father found out? This story is absolutely crazy 😭
There will be a live action adaptation for Oshi no Ko that will be released on Prime on Nov. 28 + Sequel film on Dec 20. And the cast is sooo good. We get to see Ai's death again but this time in live action!
7:52 thinking about it this is so true lol, Akane has the blue haired curse I'm glad she had her time with aqua tho, as a kana stand this scene hurt especially considering what happened last episode, it felt like Akane was dragging aqua away by telling him to avoid going on dates witth kana, and yeah i know it's true that idols ain't supposed to be in relationships but dang
Yeah... that Aqua and Akane moment wasn't romantic and wholesome. It felt angsty and pitiful. But I'm sure after the last episode - Aqua got in his head and thinks he can't be with Kana because she's an idol.
Kana needs to get over Aqua lol, she doesn’t know nearly enough about him in comparison to Akane. And yes, Akane over-attached to Aqua due to her own trauma for sure, but at least she knows what she’s signing up for.
The Aqua and Akane scene already announced the “winner” of this love triangle. I mean i havent read the manga but hearing Akane manga reader fans bragging about AquaxAkane so i will take their words for that, blue-haired girl might win this one.😅 Not that i care who will win this love triangle, anyone who make Aqua happy is fine and i hope the loser doesnt have to suffer and be happy as well (maybe i’m too optimistic). Oh wait there is Ruby route that was over your face in these last 3 episodes.😅 I dont know how far Ruby will go in her revenge arc but so far i dont think she has detective skills like Aqua or Akane to pull out some DNA tests or something, or maybe I underestimated her. I think season 3 is about Ruby become the twisted version of the person she used to be at the start of show like become a manipulative liar, more cynical, jade or some dark shits. Unless the author nerfed Akane, i dont think anyone can find the dad on their own beside her because she is that OP (again i hear manga people bragging about her). I have a feeling the father will meet the twins someday himself, so all the detective works might be for naught (the dad already knew Ruby is his daughter). There are divine interventions and implications of fate introduced in the show so i dont think being a smart detective is enough to survive THAT DAD. 😢
Enjoyed your reactions to this season of this impressive series. No idea about that ending either, but your speculation is certainly intriguing. Spirt possession is a significant part of Japanese Shinto belief, with shrine maidens (Miko) often being possessed by kami or other spirits as part of their religious function - in fact, much as in Voudou, deliberately allowing this was part of some Shinto practice.
There is a quote from aka that im not sure it is true "I like writing young girls that suffer" or something like that but if it is between kaguya and oshi no ko especially the end of this season it might aswell be true because akane is probably very emotionally confused kana just is never allowed to succeed or be happy and ruby is completely broken. Now to wait and see what new pain aka will subject us to.
Genuine question: why is it okay for Aqua to kiss and pursue a romantic relationship with Akane? Goro died in his 30s, was reborn and kept his mental intelligence. It's 16 years later, so that'd make him a 46 year old kissing a high school girl.
Generally, that wouldn't be okay. Just like Angel being over 240yrs older than Buffy wasn't right... Or Edward with Bella... Then again, Aqua has the brain chemistry and hormones of a teen and has lived as a new person for awhile... It's something I think most people just try to ignore... Like when watching vampire stuff 😆
@TheGenreVerse brain chemistry and hormones, and the tendency to overlook it for the sake of fiction is something I can understand. Realistically, any reincarnated person experiencing birth and infancy again would undergo the same effects though, right?
I don't believe in reincarnation. If it does exist, wouldn't there be a chance many people are older than their current selves are? It's fiction, the physical character is a teen, and unlike Rudy from Mushoku Tensei, Aqua doesn't act pervy... I wish the age thing (or sibling thing) in anime didn't happen so often myself, but here it's handled in a relatively decent way... Or comparatively decent way...
The star eyes are not really there the star eyes are just things the represent star power so the person he killed was a talented person with a very high potential you rember that 1 eps when Akane started acting like ai her eyes changed to stars and then they changed back when she stoped acting like her
This comment is a little confusing. Don't be upset though, I'm sure part of it is a language/translation thing. We're aware Japan doesn't have the same views on fair use as the West. We do our best to make sure our videos cannot be a replacement or substitute for the original content (anime). With the "please stand by" overlay, small window, cut content, and audio distortion, combined with the focus being on us and our discussion, we feel that we cannot be seen as a substitute for watching this on HiDive (the legal streaming service we watch it on) or broadcast on Japan. I take the idea and spirit of fair use very seriously.
@@TheGenreVerse What do you think people who watch the original anime after watching this video will think? I'm sure they've seen this scene in your video, they already know the story, they already know the ending. They won't watch the original anime. If you look at anime as a product, what you're doing is lowering the product's value. Animation creators, whose income has decreased as the value has decreased, will have to continue making anime in poor conditions. Copyright infringement is now a big problem in Japan.
Most people watch reactions AFTER seeing the anime. Reactions have not hurt anime revenue at all. Traditional piracy is a bigger issue as anime and manga isn't easily available everywhere... And, once again, we make the anime hard to see and hear to ensure it isn't the focus of our video. You commented on other reaction videos this week and didn't seem to have an issue with reactions, why is this one different? There is a disconnect in the idea of fair use between Japan and the West, the logic behind allowing fair use of games, anime, or manga seems to be lost on many Japanese companies, and individuals... We're not here for you to watch anime, we're here for you to watch and hear our thoughts and reactions.
@@TheGenreVerse How can you say that your reaction has had no negative impact on the anime's revenue whatsoever? Do you have any documentation that proves that it has had no negative impact on the anime's revenue whatsoever? It won't have any negative impact on you guys whatsoever. After all, it's a Japanese creation, not yours.
