Why are people defending a man that killed over 70 KIDS. Ive lost hope in humanity.

20 years is the "maximum sentence" , but if he is considered a threat he's gonna get that sentence again, and again, and again. He's never gonna see daylight.

As a Norwegian, despite how many years have past and will past, I will never forget this horrific event. So many innocent teenagers died because of one man. It hurts me. The fact that this happened just makes me cry, and I hate the fact that he'd did this to so many innocent children.

I remember it as if it was yesterday.I was driving with my family to Stavanger in Norway. We heard about the explosions on the radio. Many believed it was a bus explosion, but it was later found out that the explosion was of carbomb-type. When we arrived at the house we own there, we instantly turned on the tv. At this point the Utøya shooting hadn't happened. We sat in the couch and watched as journalists gathered around the ruins, like pigs waiting for food. They interviewed every single person standing around the area, but most people were too shocked to answer any questions. We turned off the TV, we were on holiday, for christ sake, and we didn't want something like this to affect our holiday. I remember my uncle checking his phone every 10 minutes, keeping us up to date of what happened, and of any interesting intel. We listened as he read the numbers of victims. After a while we turned on the TV, there was just way too many terrible things happening at once. Then the reporters came with breaking news. News from the police that some youths on an island called "utøya" had called for help, help from a man trying to murder them. The police were driving like fucking madmen, and the pig journalists were munching on their tales, onwards to the crime scene. We heard news of more and more victims showing up dead. And that the murderer was still on free foot. Then the news just repeated themselves for a couple of hours, explaining what had happened, and what they knew so far. After a couple of hours we heard that the murderer had been captured, and that his name was Anders Behring Breivik. He had dressed up as a cop, and traveled by a ferrie to a small youth-politican-camp on utøya. He gathered kids around him, and started shooting. People were hiding in tents, in small caverns, inside toilets, under the furniture. These kids that had done nothing wrong, they were young politicians with big goals in their lives, and this scum of a man killed them, due to his believes. His motive was that he didn't agree to their terms, that muslims and refugees should be able to live in Norway, and come and go as they wish (metaphorically). He killed innocent kids that were bound to be succesful, due to their believes, how fucked up isn't

Can't believe it's the first time I've heard of this tragic event. Just seeing the hateful comments below is very disappointing because it means that there are ignorant people out there who are so blinded by self importance that they can't see that their words and beliefs are damaging our society. We're supposed to be moving forward not backwards as a whole. So why the hell are we repeating the same idiotic and bigoted mistakes of the past ? God help us man we're so screwed if this type of ideology keeps spreading. As far as I know your beliefs, ethnicity, religion, and the color of your skin don't make you superior from other people and it definitely doesn't mean you deserve more than other people. All the people who believe otherwise are just fooling themselves because they are selfish and self righteous. But as long as there are people out there who fight for equality and peace then that means people like this man won't win.

I remember I cried so much those days. It was really hard for us all, even those who didn't lose anyone cried and were hurting. But we fought back! We fought back by showing each other kindness. We fought back with LOVE!

Yet the killer is living comfortable everyday, even has game console and gym equipments in his cell Edit: This is a perfect example of why we need death sentence, make sure the criminal will never do this again (it is the God's duty to forgive him, our job is just send him to God, OK?), and clarify the consequences of committing such crime to any potential criminals. EDIT : Pardon me for my "send to god" little analogy, I have no religious believe myself, I'm just trying to justify the need of death sentences. It seems like some of you believe that keeping him in jail, not allowing him to meet with friends but providing him with all the accessories he needs to have fun for a whole life is such a CRUEL and HORRIFYING punishment? Well I have to remind you Norwegian guys who have been living your lives in this wealthy and comfortable country that, there are still countless people who live in third world countries that are struggling to survived - I had seen some tragic parents who can’t even feed their new born children because they are suffering war or disasters with my own eyes. And even though they are living under such a terrible condition, most of them have never came up with the idea to commit crimes and take other people’s lives. What I’m trying to say is, everyone who lives in this world share the equal right to their lives, and the victims in Oslo and the young kids who were either killed or disabled on that island, some of them cannot speak for themselves anymore, others need to live with their wounds for the rest of their time - so according to some people’s logic, Anders Brevik’s human right is way more superior to the victims’ so that he can live in a secured place and is able to have as much fun as he can until he grow old and die peacefully -- and remember, "being able to live in peace without having to struggle to survive" itself is already a luxury to many people …….. WHY WOULD YOU THINK THIS MAKES ANY F**KING SENSE? No offense, I respect your generosity...but I still believe that the so-called "humane" to the criminals who had done massive killing is the greatest insult to those who have died under his hands. I'm really curious.

My friend was in a building near by when the explosion happened, and when he started shooting i was driving on a road near by -luckily my friend me and my family didn’t get hurt but rip everyone that died ❤️🌹

Remember this so well, i was 7 years old and i was watching the television when my dad said to my mom that she had to turn on the news, my mom was shocked and turned the television off, i was curious and asked what's happening and she said, people are being killed in oslo. Looking at these comments really hurts, people actually thinks this is "funny" or "the right thing" ! Put yourself in these kids situation, and their family! Many of them STRUGGLE today, because all they've seen. To feel the fear they felt, or the grief their family feels, are impossible. To compare this with other tragedies isn't fair. I'm not saying it isn't things that have happened that's worse, I know it is. I'm from Norway myself. Like this and help people think twice before posting.

I remember this day like it was yesterday😰 I was 14 and I was with a friend at the time. I called my mom because I wanted to stay the night at her place and she told me about the bombing in Oslo. I was in shock and I kept checking the news. Then the Utøya shootings appeared and I was just so sad and in shock. This couldn’t happen in Norway! I sat up almost all night checking the news.. it was too sad and shocking. I will never forget that Friday.

The fact that this psycho only got 20 years in prison for killing +90 people.

It’s 2019 Now and I still remember it so clearly,I was 5 at the time and we were about to go out me and my mum when we heard a bomb i swear we lived like 30mins away from where it happened and we still heard although it was faint and thats when my dad called us and was like dont come out but he didn’t tell why and my mum was so panicked we turned on the news and We found out what happened but the shooting still hadnt happened. It was honestly soo saad i still remember the song they made for the children/teenagers and everyone who died.😔😔

This tragedy proves that there is not a bad religion.. its just there are bad people. And i feel awful that many innocent people have lost their lives because of a maniac :( may Norway heal after this tragedy as well as many other countries who suffered the same

that day, in oslo my mom and my grandmother was getting ready for her birthday. they just heard a slight bang from the building that the bomb exploded with. some minutes later they watched the tv and found out about it. i was 1 year old, so i clearly cant remember. but to hear about this is so shocking and scary. im happy my mom and grandmother is okay tho.

This horrific tragedy was a wakeup call not only to the Scandinavian countries but to the world: 1) A microscopic glimpse of the objective fascists have anywhere in the world. 2) The reality that the Scandinavian countries with their utopian image of "tolerance" and a perfected mix of capitalism and socialism and bowing to a royal family, are not free of any of the evils pervasive in other countries including the United States.

No. he got 21 years and after the 21 years they will charge him again for 21 years and it will continue until they decide if he is a treat or not, to the community. And i sure hope he will sit in jail for the rest of his life..

I just watched the movie on netflix. I watched it randomly ‘cause thumbnail looks good (Yes that’s how I choose what to watch on netflix.) and it says based on true story. I didn’t know something happened like this in Norway. I was ugly crying on the shooting scene. Like I was sobbing for real. I didn’t even want to finish it anymore. The fact that it happened in real life terrified me so much imagining those kids, probably the same age as me, alone in the island without protection, running for their lives. Oh my god, it was just pure terror.

I dont know that this act of terrorism happened in July 22,2011. I just watched the movie and I felt so sorry for the victims and their family, I know it's very difficult, maybe some of the survivors suffering from trauma and I hope they are fined now,. Im from Philippines so pardon me with my English. While watching the movie, and video on RU-vid I was thinking, we can't fully trust the government of our safety. Yes they can do some other things but they cannot guarantee our full safety to any kind of terrorist attack,. So we have to be very careful and put our trust to God.

I am all for rehabilitation, but some people are just too fucking broken and we shouldn't even take the risk of letting them free again. The best thing we can do is prevention, so that people don't become like that in the first place.

That's right. He will be in prison for the rest of his life for what he did. After 21 years his sentence will be expanded again and again with 5 years at a time. I think most of the people who criticize Norway for ABB being sentenced to just 21 years in prison hasn't done their research - they simply do not understand the principles of our law. I think one should know before one speaks, or at least make an effort to understand before criticizing.

I live very close to that place. My parents lived in one of the apartments back then, and i never think they will forget what happend that day. How can someone do such a thing, 92 people... and one of the people who passed away was my moms friends daugter. R.I.P

When the attack happened (and for many days afterwards) it was still unclear as to how many had lost their lives. As more and more information came out in the days following the attack, the number of human lives that were lost became increasingly clearer.

What absolutely bewilders me is the fact that he was able to roam around the island for 90 Minutes. NINETY MINUTES. I`m sorry but, this is a classic case where the police failed big time. Delta, their SWAT Team, didn`t have a Helicopter at hand. I served in a regular Infantry unit. And even we had Helicopters at our disposal at all times. Together with the fact that the Intelligence Service knew about some things that were going on in his home and did nothing. Yes, I wasn`t there. No, I don`t think that I`m better than them. Because I know that some people will read this and come screaming at me. This guy was able to do what he did because of many failures on behalf the Norwegian Intelligence and Police Services. Yes, people probably would`ve died regeardless. But, the death toll could have been reduced massively if the first responders had what they needed.

As a Norwegian who could have died that day, but I didn’t due to laziness’s and luck, as I’d always walk past that exact building that was blown up, yet I choose to stay at home, which is only a few blocks away.

The sad fact is that the news whats there before the police arrived. They just watched innocent people die while streaming the news. They could have landed with the helicopter and helped them or do something instead of watching.

I cant watch this without tearing up. Its still hard to comprehend that something like this could happen to Norway, to MY country. However, I think its revolting how you blatantly show images of deceased children. I know similar pictures were shown on Norwegian news, these were, however, censured quite quickly. This is an event that scarred our nation, and I dont think anyone appreciates the way this horrific event is being displayed here. Its disrespectful to the victims and to Norway.
