Had to come back for this guide for my 4th 99 which was magic and I made a dumb mistake by teleporting to Yanille before I could do the trick and now my untrimmed cape is trimmed haha Oh well RIP
It’s such an irrational fear of mine I’ll trim my mining cape. I mean, it’s nearly impossible to “accidentally” get a 99 but it’s still this looming fear lol.
step 1. get your first 99 skill. step 2. buy the untrimmed cape. step 3. follow this guide while getting your 2nd 99. step 4. buy another cape from the person that sold you the first one and it will be auto trimmed.
Answer me this please : You left out the part where you buy the cape. When can u buy the cape so that both your first 99 and your 2nd will be untrimmed?
No.....why would it trim the agility cape for buying something? Thats the same logic as "if I buy something from the GE will it trim my cape". When you drop the agility cape untrimmed it has a unique ID, picking it up off the ground after you get a 99 changes the ID if you just pick it up because it determines its a new item, and converts it to a trimmed one since you have multiple 99's now. Telegrabbing keeps the old ID.
So couple of questions. Can I have multiple untrained skillcapes or just one? Wouldn't buying the second 99 auto trim the cape? And let's say for example I have 4 99s on my 5th would I have to drop 99s 1-4 and telegrab or just my previous 99
Would this get you banned for going against the rules? I would really hate to have months of hard work going down the drain for something that should be optional anyway. I don’t see why they wouldn’t make it optional.
reading all these comments "TO KEEP UR UNTRIMMED CAPE" means keeping ur 1st 99 no untrimmed 2nd the only way to have a untrimmed cape is ur 1st 99 this guy shows u how to keep ur 1st 99 untrimmed =p
Im pissed. All I heard from a friend was that I just had to drop the cape & all I had to do was pick it back up after getting the 2nd 99. Now my fishing cape will forever be trimmed :(
i heard thiswas patched a few months ago anyway so evan if you did it correctly shown in this video it would still trim as jagex put out a hotfix to put a skill check when telegrabbing the capes now :P
Does anyone know if this works still as of today? (11/18/2021). I'm thinking of making a new account just for a specific untrimmed cape. Yes I'm serious
So my only untrimmed skill cape became trimmed due to a bug that happen after I deposti my untrimmed skill cape to bank... Tried the telegrab, but it didn't untrim :(
I didn't do this and I kept my untrimmed agility cape. Apparently if it's acting as the graceful cape when you get a second(or higher) 99, it won't trim.
What they can do is : if a cape is already untrimmed, keep it untrimmed. U don't have to know which was their first 99. Once a person buys NEW capes it is trimmed. The reason this is possible is because currently you can have trimmed and untrimmed in ur bank/inventory, so there is an underlying difference between the two items. Simple fix: if a cape is untrimmed, keep it untrimmed. Moving forward if a person buys a new cape from that same cape but has more than 1 99, fine, u can trim the rest
If you don't want to get this patched I recommend removing this video. I had untrim cook with 3 99s back in 2009 this way. Somebody posted a video like this and a month later it was patched.
