I know it’s probably odd to admit this… but I found 2 of these in a pawnshop today. 40 bucks for the pair. They looked new. Came home and gave our Bichon the best haircut I have ever done. I know it’s not meant for dogs. But man, it cut hair like a hot knife through butter. Which is amazing, because using regular clippers always wind up pulling our dogs hair, over heating, etc. First haircut I’ve ever performed for our pup which normally takes 30 minutes… in just 10. I was flat amazed.
They have a 76 A5 version for animals. But you can easily use what you have too. They have animal detachable blades as well so I've learned. Good score. I just picked up on on eBay for $60. Had to refresh the lever though. I got the blade rattle. Light scuffs on the plastic body, new grease, and new blades. Good to go.
I have had my original set for 30 years and still going. Nothing stops them. When I graduated school, my dad bought them for me as a gift for passing. I will cherish them forever ♥️
Yes man!! The best! Bought mine back in 1996 and I must say they were the best investment I ever made. Learned how to really cut with these joints. Not a professional just self taught. Been cutting over 20+ years and these are a workhorse!!! Great video!!
What's the advantage of having detachable clippers as opposed to any other clipper? Also in what scenario do they work best? For example is it only used for lining up?
Nice video man. I was wondering, because I'm about to purchase an Oster hair clipper, would I be able to do my personal lineup with one of the trimmers? I want to save as much money as possible and avoid purchasing a separate clipper in addition to the Oster, one which does strictly outlining. Any tips or suggestions? Also, is cutting your own hair easy to do? I'm looking to just give myself a level 0.5 (in between a 1 and a full bald). I want everything to be level and not have any uneven patches. Thanks.
Thank you for watching, you should buy a pair of toutliners in addition to the Oster and you will be able to do everything you need with that combination.
Wow..20 years. I go through one about every year, even with changing the brushes, gear, lever and hinge...the motors just eventually go and things start rattling.
Have a quick question. Have the 76 and when I turn it on it has a funny smell as if something is burning. Is this normal and if not is it an easy fix? Thanks
Hell yeah, this clipper can run about $130-$200. They only come with a two blades and the blades are about $25-$30 each. They go from a 0000-3" 1/2 as far I know. They cut very close
All blades are sold separately. You'll be better off buying a decent adjustable clipper that can be zero gapped and then buying a shaver for balding depending on ethnicity. ( ingrown hairs )
So to blend a zero high top fade with the oster 0 guard into a number 1 on top (using the number 1 oster guard) I would use the 0A guard and it would blend the fade into the number 1? Or would there be more to do, because I'm not good with blending especially on my thick hair and clippers with side handles become confusing to use.
nice review man are these clippers worth getting i have a pair of and is master as well and I'm looking for a good take down clipper….do u recommend the 76 for this
thank u i just purchased these earlier this week i have to say the motor on this particular clipper is great and i love the sound it also has that retro look to it and it kinda reminds me of allen inversion by the name haha great advice man thanks again!
I have a pair of this clipper. But my clipper seems to heat up quick after ten mins of use. By heating, i mean the body of the clipper heats where its uncomfortable to hold. But the blades dont heat up, just the clipper it self. Is this normal for this clipper?
At my barbershop these clippers are banned. Reason? They are too loud. Can’t talk to clients. They scare children too. In fact, I haven’t seen anyone use these at any of the barbershops I’ve been to outside of military bases.
