If we cel just have an nil in place I think Caleb is gonna stay . He saw the kid at Ohio st get like 500 grand not play 1 down he was the best frosh qb and not really much. If they can iron that out he ok then it’s for sure he stays so hope it’s ok boomer sooner
Fun to watch Pat Fields be recognized for his leadership on the field and consistent play !! Super proud of all his acomlishments ! Tulsa Union puts out some great young men !
This game showed me the future of OU is bright. Farooq, Grimes, Redmond, Downs, Mimms, Major, Congel, Washington, and some other young dudes. These guys are going to be legit after a Smitty car wash.
That’s the best all around balanced game OU has played all year. Makes me wonder how a bunch of thrown together coaches did that after LR left. My hat is off to these guys. We are so much better off going forward. Players played hard for King Bob. So many good things happened last night.
Bringing Coach V up and him being at the back showed how humble BV is. He wasn't expecting any limelight where other coaches would have tried to at least get some media on a night like that. Just an awesome night all around.

(That’s) pretty awesome.”- end Quote. This is Caleb’s home and his team, he’s been through a lot of change in a short amount of time. I expect him to come back from rest and relaxation and announce his intent to remain at OU 💯☝🏼 OU fans would be wise not to pester him or flood Twitter with negative comments about how he’s choosing to make his final decision. Keep it positive, have faith and love the kid back.

I'm ticked that the network went to SportsCenter as soon as the game was over, instead of letting us watch and enjoy the win celebration. Had to read about Stoops putting the hat on Venables on Twitter, and later watch several bad cell videos of it before I finally saw a quality video of it.. Great moment. Just bummed that I didn't get to see it live. Lol

I was trying to stay out of the way so I was at the back of the crowd on the field. There were maybe 5 people further from the stage than I was. Venables and Schmidt were two of those people.
Jeremiah Hall said a few weeks ago that there was a reason Caleb hadn’t said anything about what he was going to do but when he did we would be glad. I’m clinging to that.

Two times safety was late rotating to cover over the top and one time the corner got caught looking in the backfield. Just plain poor coaching and kid’s not recognizing and following their key reads. These are not complicated reads either. Middle school coaches get young kids to make these reads accurately.
Amen to that! DJ Graham got burned 3-4 times on those deep balls in the second half. Ready to see Venables get the defense fundamentally sound across the board.
I'm not worried about Caleb Williams, there is not a doubt in my mind that Caleb Williams will be the starting QB at the University of Oklahoma next year and have a whole lot of success. Next year will be so much fun and I can't wait.

No, CW acts like he's hiding a secret, like he's already taken some NIL money and will be gone. Talking about the team and school in third person isn't good. He has nothing to gain by waiting. He does gain by prolonging the scorn that will be triggered by his announcement. He already knows what he's doing, he's just prolonging the backlash.
Watched the game, but also watched the highlights. Spotted Gabe and Schmitty on the sideline during some plays, as well as Schmitty and Venables. I know the network zoomed in on Venables and Schmitty at one point, but I also like trying to see the natural reactions on the sidelines during the games.
BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!. I went to work at 7:00pm got off at 4:00am but listen to most of it. Sucks though I would have been there if it wasn't for work.
The penalty was a facemask, so declining that would have done nothing but give us a first down where the helmet came off because that is a different rule all on its own. Noticed we got the facemask penalty which was + 15 yards where the helmet came off. Two things happened .. penalty and an event that killed the play on the spot. I am 100% on agreement that if a player is around a lot of others fighting for yards when a helmet comes off, blow the play dead. If no one else is around like last night, then it should be allowed to go on.
If I could change one thing about NIL, it would be that it cannot be used to recruit. An athlete should have to actually compete for the school before they can collect NIL revenue. That was the intention of the concept.
First off, you guys have worked your asses off, especially the last 24 hours. I listened to Teddy on The Ref from 2:00 and finished with him and Toby around 1:15am on The Franchise. Then around 2:00am, I see you guys did a Breakdown also? BONUS! It's frustrating listening to radio with TV like 50 seconds behind. Yeah, the broadcast is that much fun, and I am that crazy about OU football. Second, I think Lebby and the staff need to look for a different QB because Williams seems to have already accepted a pile of money somewhere else (USC?) because all the indicators appear to be showing up negative on the old predict-O-meter to me. Talking about OU in the second person like he's not part of the team isn't good, and neither is all his hesitation BS. Tells me he's hiding an awful secret, like he's gonna drop another bomb on the team because he knows he'll have to confess at some point. Either someone sits down with him along with a blank check and pen and tells him it's not too late to come back, or the staff starts figuring it out now. The program and his team mates deserve to know so they can start planning now.
College football can change soo much so fast. Think how far we are from where we started this season. Spencer heisman candidate, Lincoln’s year to win a playoff game, Hazelwood is going to ball out, and speed d will finally be in its perfect form. 🤪. To now, almost lost every game but 2, Spencer is at South Carolina, TBOW is gone, Speed d is replaced with violent suffocating d, and Hazelwood is at Arkansas! Wow!! The rollercoaster is real.
I didn't get to hear the post game interview with caleb Williams on the radio broadcast because 97.5 cut it off the commercial break right before it. Im guessing he didn't say during that interview if he was staying though?
Caleb avoiding that question can only be for a few reasons.. number 1: he wants the publicity, it raises his value monetarily. Number 2: He's leaving and doesn't want to announce yet or number 3: He actually doesn't know at this point which I highly doubt. I think he's probably leaving which I don't understand but anyway, from a Bama fan, it was great seeing Stoops back out there, he is a legend and a real coach.
It does bother me a little bit but Caleb Williams wouldn't make a commitment statement that he has no plans on leaving Oklahoma. I wish he answered that question. I can't imagine why he would want to go anywhere else he's got the offense and now a defensive-minded coach to back this up

I liked how Cale called his game; he clearly understands how football games are won by causing defenses to react to a run game. I even put on the Insider game thread that the back end was closing up to help with the run, and then BAM went the deep TD. Maybe that’s because Cale was a very good college QB and Riley wasn’t, and he understands what defensive reactions look like. It just felt like Cale has been watching all season and thought “we’ve got all these other tools in the shed so why aren’t we using them?”. So we saw more emphasis on Mims, Farooq balled out, Major proved he needs lots of touches even if saved until the 3rd and 4th as a punisher, etc. That’s a failing of one guy being HC, OC, and QB coach. So Gundy hopefully works tight with Lebby.

Before the alamo bowl, there was a Twitter cast led by 2 linebackers who are getting ready for the NFL, I will not name!!! But they expressed the real feelings of the team about tbow. And let's just say!! It made every sooner proud!@!

Caleb is one of the most technically gifted/talented college QB's that I have ever seen. The other OU athletes, coaches, and fans love the guy and so do I. He has great leadership skills, makes the quickest/best decisions, and without hesitation in the process. You surely also noticed that he is among the best athlete's ever and has super vision. He has made plays this year that I haven't seen before. Look at the Kansas game when Caleb on 4th down took the ball back from Kennedy Brooks who was being tackled and advanced the ball for a first down saving our bacon in the process. I haven't seen anyone that I would choose to lead OU to a NATTY over Caleb. Look at how he ran - grabbed K Farooq during the Oregon game and pulled him off to calm him and prevent needless/harmful penalties. Now that is leadership. I want CALEB to lead us to our next Natty! Some think he is a bit conceited, but I think him to be super confident in his own abilities! I'm very happy he is so confident. All of you should leave him alone and allow him to make his own decision. Help us let him know we want him for our QB now and for the future. He's the man. Caleb also has great interpersonal skills and is wise beyond his years as well. Pray for the team, for Caleb, for BV to make good decisions and let them know we will support them. Toby's fault!!! 😂 Caleb played his best game as a Sooner last night, I thought. The Texas game, I know, but some of those were 50/50 balls that Mims made great plays on. He looked poised, very settled and made great throws all night long.
It's frustrating when obviously one player is getting "picked on" the defense (DJ Graham) and adjustments aren't made. I'm looking forward to seeing Marcus Major play more.
The guys get beat deep because their looking in the back field instead of playing their man. Its just years of poor technique, poor coaching and lack of discipline. BV will get them squared away
Teddy - if Toby has a Tahoe, he needs to get OnStar. He could have unlocked it in about 30 seconds... Regarding Caleb, I think he is coming back and I think this is all gamesmanship on his and OU's part. I agree, especially considering what we have all been through over the past month, it would have been settling to a fanbase and a no kidding "Nation" for him to declare he is returning and we would be competing for a national championship. I am not sure why the delay, but I assume he has registered for classes and will be coming back to school following the break. You said it best during the broadcast that most of the transfers slots have been taken. That is not saying he couldn't be heading to USC tomorrow, but you think he would have probably opted out of the game if that were the case. Lastly, and as a master's degree alum from THE University of Oklahoma, I want to say how proud I am of the young men who are not only talented athletes, but also seem to be just as proud to say they received their graduate degrees. Just seeing how well they speak during interviews and carry themselves is honestly a credit to Sooners everywhere. Oklahoma is truly a special place and I am so proud to consider these men fellow alums. BOOMER...

Bob actually was responding to caleb and said the reason he coached the game is because it was the right thing to do. And went on to talk about how BV and Lebby were going to keep the offense running strong. If you read between the lines, it felt like Bob was just being Bob, #integrity, but also mentioned to the kid to try to use the Alamo Bowl hat for an NIL deal.
Blame our trip to the Alamo Bowl on LR, he had one foot out the door all season!! LR knows no shame, now he can go to all the Hollywood premieres the USC fan’s keep saying he will attend. USC got the Coach they wanted, and OU got the Coach they needed.
I would give CW till maybe the 5th of January, if no decision i would make it for him and pull his scholarship and get a transfer QB. BV should set the standard that nobody holds the team hostage so to speak. Overall i did think for the most part we tackled much better on D, despite the other problems with coverage and over pursuit.
I'm pretty sure that's against NCAA rules. This isn't 1973, it's 2021. You can't do this stuff to kids anymore. It would decimate recruiting and hinder the program for as long as BV is the head coach. The fact you even came up with this idea is a joke. You don't make a kid who has a chance to be the best QB is college football next year make a decision on some arbitrary date that has no relevance. Now if he still hasn't made a decision by Spring practice I would understand that a little more, but you are being insane.

Will be nice to have proactive linebackers.. not reactive... talking rbs behind the line of scrimmage is great.. our linebackers seem to wait and tackle the backer 5 yards down field..
Grabbing facemasks/helmets has always been a great way to prevent long plays. That won't change regardless of what you do with the rule about continuing play with no helmet. Guys will still grab facemasks as a last resort because 99% of the time they go down.
It doesn't matter how good CW is, he is essentially holding the program hostage. It's not okay. Dude needs to just move on if he doesn't want to be one of us. The decision should already be made.
I know team mates aren't openly saying if CW is staying, but why does everyone think he is leaving? Maybe CW is just not saying anything because he never hinted at leaving

Can you guys give us weekly updates on the winter workouts. Maybe a list of kids in the Smitty dog house, tardiness reports, how many kids go into the portal after a workout.
The thing that pisses me off about the transfer portal is that it seems to be abused. I think it was instituted to help people like Tanner who is good enough to start at any other program but is stuck behind someone is a little better and wants to move on and have his chance somewhere else. I wish they would add a qualification rule based on play time the year prior.
The rules needs to change. At this point, if a defender knows he can’t bring a guy down, what’s to stop him from just ripping off the helmet to stop the play?
