this was one of those games, where I'm actually satisfied with the entire performance and coaching from Oklahoma. We are looking very good early in the season, and I haven't truly been able to say that since 2008.
I agree. We haven't had this balanced of a team in quite a while. However I must say, 2018 was the year where the Sooners offense was at it's best. Strongest Oline, best TE's, CeeDee Lamb, Trey Sermon, along with 2 backups who were around the same level, Hollywood Brown, and Kyler Murray. Was literally the most potent and highest scoring offense we've ever had. But also was the year where our defense couldn't stop a group of girl scouts in a game of red rover.
Grew up loving OU, kid in the 90’s, twice alum, sports there, love Norman and OU. Pulling starters mid third killed me, Nebraska had zero issue kicking a down OU back then. 1997, 69-7 I believe.
If 90s OU was down, then this Nebraska program is fighting for its life in the ICU. I personally think getting all those young guys real game reps in a hostile road environment will pay dividends down the road.
I’m Proud Of Oklahoma We Did Amazing. Our Defense Did Amazing Gabriel And Grey And The WRS Did Amazing Lincoln Riley Would Never Have Done This Good With The Defense
I know what you mean, we needed highlights to hide the defense of teams past. Honestly, is it time to start talking about BV being able to take OU to much higher heights than the man Bob himself? Bobs issue was connecting with the kids, BV might be one of the best leaders I've ever seen.
Looked like south florida saw the double pass play and put it in for their game later that night! The trick play ripped their fan's heart out because sooner magic started against them!!
Pretty sure that's what the plan is for him moving forward, although what I see is they rotate between Gray and Major depending on the situation (when they need a good power run Major gets the call).
@@BigTulsa I was just pointing it out to all the Eric Gray haters out there. Haha! He was disappointing last year. And Major is very good. But some fans act like Gray is complete trash and shouldn’t get any carries at all! It’s crazy…
Nebraska fan here. There is no need to even game plan against us. We have the worst Oline that Nebraska has ever fielded right now. You guys could have someone running free to the quarterback at will. What’s happened to this team is disgraceful.
Not a Husker fan at all (Sooner fan actually) but it's possible he could have been responding to Mettauer's (#72) shoulder check at 0:43 (right side of the frame).
Listening to the announcers the wham block from daniel parker he blocked his own lineman than they acted like the whole nebraska program would go in the portal when they have windows now and they aint going anywhere if they are the ones with car and/or apartment deals and who wants any of them too!!!
I hope Nebraska gets the right coach. I am anxious to see the sleeping giant awake and return to former glory. I know you guys are hungry for a winner. Good luck on getting the right coach.
If it makes you feel better, OU was where you are now before. Nov. 1, 1997, Nebraska beat OU 69-7. The worst OU loss in program history. 3 years later, we were national champs. A guy like Stoops or Meyer can win bring you back to relevance that fast.
We ain’t figuring anything out. I’d rather forfeit the rest of the season. There isn’t a more miserable fan experience in all of sports at any level than watching the Huskers of the last 6 years.
I seldom watch your highlights. Usually, I watch them if the game was a Sooners blowout. By only showing OU's highlights, you eliminate the flow and drama of a closer game. These would be more enjoyable if there was some effort to preserve the battle.
There's a reason he titles these 'OU Highlights vs *TEAM*' instead of 'Game Highlights'. You can find game highlights all over the place. I'm glad he does these.
Riley and his staff wouldn't improve any of these young men in 4 years, BV and his staff have improved these players a lot in such a short amount of time! USC easily has much more talent on their team and much better recruiting right now, but OU defense is better than it's been in a loooong time. Better than it ever was under Riley AND Stoops... and has allowed less points than USC so far this season. The USC offense has elite talent and that is pretty much the only reason they're good. Rileys playbook is boring and basic, just a bunch of short screen and slot passes to wide open receivers who can break tackles and run for big yardage, or hand the ball off to juggernaut recievers that drag two or three players often. He's a sh*t coach and he's going to ruin a lot of future careers if those kids don't transfer to a better program. They won't develop and will stay at their current level. BV is actually making them work and disciplining them. And they're already showing progress. Gray seems about 3x better than he was last season. Gabriel's ball placement on his completions are almost perfect. (He's gotta work on not overthrowing the ball though, that's a major interception hazard), the Oline is pretty stout, the recievers play damn near like 5 star players... the pass coverage is much better, and most of all, that rush and blitz defense is absolutely monstrous. There are going to be so many sacks and 3rd/4th down stops this year, I can already feel it.
It's culture 100 percent. I don't know what Clemson instilled in him, or if it just brought out something he always had, but he's better than I had hoped for. I had always hoped we'd get him back, but never though it would be as HC. Upgrade for sure. He's not evasive in interviews and is much more transparent with the team.
@@BigTulsa He coached at a powerhouse school for a while. He probably learned a lot. And he's definitely more disciplinary and pushes the players more in practice. While Riley is just stealing and conducting talented players, BV is actually building them.
