Perfect “wake up” game and moment for OU. Every year, every top team has a game like this, where they just don’t play well (see GA/Mizzou lasted year, 2019 LSU at Auburn, 2010 Auburn at Kentucky). Sometimes you just have to find a way.

We won so im happy. 7-0. This game reminded me of the Texas a&m game in 2000. We won a close one, and won it all that year. Learn to like the ugly games just like the good games. 👍

I had worried the Texas Victory Party went too long. Let none of us -- fans, coaches, players, OU soc media -- think or talk about Big 12 championship, Texas rematch, playoffs again. It's all about Kansas now.

Honestly, by the end of the game Sawchuk was starting to get in a rhythm and it's clear he might have the best vision. He was patient behind blocks and hit the hole when it opened. Still feels like he's missing a step quickness wise.

The o line breakdown is by far the best thing about this podcast but I love how teddy breaks down the defense as well

The TFL’s were a real bright spot. Those TFL’s are gonna win us important games in the future…if they didn’t help us in THIS tight game. Without any forced turnovers, these 13 TFLs were the poor man’s defensive highlights of the game!

Gabe, on a future In The Weeds can you breakdown Inside Zone vs Outside Zone vs Split Zone vs Whatever "High-Stepping" blocking scheme we are trying to employ this year? You frequently speak the terms but have never explained the differences.

USC Trojan Fan and Alum here: Someone out here in SoCal has to say it, so let me, you guy's at OU were right! There were many Red Flags which were ignored, we cannot ignore it any longer! The offense is struggling and our Defense is a sieve with NO IMPROVEMENT in sight! Although we may have talent all over the field, the coaching has been abysmal to say the least! Yes, you guy's in Norman warned us, we didn't believe you, and more important, we didn't want to believe you, NOW WE HAVE NO CHOICE!! At this time, the program is in disarray, Moral is low, expectations have been crushed and fans and Alum are Angry, WHAT NOW!! How about this: We will let you have Lincoln Riley back, and even throw in Alex Grinch if you let us have Brent Venables, one problem, you have to pay Riley 10 million a-year! DEAL? Gotta have some fun with this!!

Barnes is an actual pig farmer from a small town, Milford, UT. And not used to be, he still goes back and works on the farm.

That Kanak play brings anxiety. It feel like everyone in stadium is laughing at you when that happens to you. It amazing how good he already is without playing the position very long. Tough position. Love learning more about defenses and tendencies.

Re: the run game. Seems Gabriel gets yards by being patient before he takes off. Our running backs seem to just run first and look second...running before a hole is opened. It is easier to tackle them when they have been slowed down by running into the back of their own o-linemen.

I am a Sooner fan that has lived in Arkansas & Cali so been to SEC & Pac12 games and seen/heard fans from all over. What I have noticed is that OU home crowd fan base tends to be more spoiled and nervous in close home games, causing them to be a bunch of golf clappers sipping wine in tight games. lol ugh Additionally, I am a believer that these nervous and negative vibes can roll off onto the players too. It seems to me that the SEC fans will cheer VERY loud in hopes it makes their team score or play defense. Where as OU fans are waiting for the team to give them a reason to cheer and be loud (backwards). (this same spoiled brat tendencies seem to have made their way to the OKC Thunder crowds too). I give the team a B- and the home crowd a D lol

The Tawee Walker situation is just odd to me, not even a week ago Venables was talking about how the guy literally says NOTHING and is one of the quietest hard working guys on the team....now all of a sudden dude is getting in house suspension due to something he did? Just really odd.

Special teams 2 missed Field goals, 1 Kanak penalty and the bust by Woody Washington are what almost did us in

I have no problem with the calls for taunting simply because if it’s not called, the potential for things to escalate is magnified. It’s not a “gotcha “ rule, every player knows it’s there. We got lucky against Texas, Ethan did it…. TWICE lol. It’s obvious the refs do let a little of it slide but Kanak went too far.

Majors reminds me of Kejuan Jones. Lots of running into his blockers and getting tackled by his ankles because he doesnt get his knees up and spends too much time bouncing around behind the line instead of hitting the hole. Needs to play downhill and run with a purpose to avoid weak shoelace/arm tackles.

Maseratis aren't anything worth buying unless you are a die-hard Joe Walsh fan. Get a McClaren, Lamborghini, Porsche, or even a newer Corvette...they all run circles or figure 8s around them.

I wish when it’s 3rd and 15 , if we would send pressure instead of dropping back and letting them easily pick it up. O-line gets no push they disappoint me week after week, and the running backs can’t break a tackle. We need a fullback. If we had any kind of a run game at all we blow them out! R mason to me was a huge part of their big plays , he didn’t play well that I saw.

DG's pass completion got worse for the 7th game in a row, sooner or later he will put us in a bind we wont tecover from. Lebby needs to quit trying to be cute with play calling. Sometimes it seems like he only knows 5 plays then other times he opens it up. He needs to quit giving up on run game so easy and needs to stick with Sawchuck longer because he is our only running back with speed. Freeman is way over hyped and would leave him on the sidelines. He has had one good play and that was last year in the first game. Schmitt our kicker imo his kicking misses are in his head now and kickers usually dont recover from the mental part of it and we need to try someone else. Defense has regressed a little but I trust they will step it back up.

Id like to thank USC for taking Lincoln off our hands, i stopped watching games his last few years the defense was just miserable

Can someone please explain to me how these College stats work on Wide Receivers because it just does not make sense how Nic Anderson is not getting more pub?! Dude has 16 catches and 8 TDs already! Plus he is averaging 24.2 per catch. But when you look at his ranking on espn, he is at # 121. WTF. Dude is STAR in the making get him the ball more damn... I just don't get how the wide receiver with the best Catches / TD ratio in college football can be # 121 lol

First, the team goes from underdogs to a potential Heisman candidate, and a national championship. Yes, they bought into the media, and they knew it. Despite UCF having some steel positions, they overachieved in this game. But the sooners came back, and hopefully they realize that they have to work the rest of the season. Boomer.

Guys please go take a look at the lack of run plays called. Jeff Lebby calls pass plays on first down 95% of the time. It is rediculous. It will be incomplete, then he will call a run on second down and we end up 3rd and long. Im sick of it.

I question Lebby's play calling WR's in the backfield and DG CANNOT throw a deep ball down the middle of the field seems all receivers are always coming back to get the rock!! Don't know how many times Stogner was wide open with NOBODY arOUnd him!! Why are you rollin yOUr Qb to the rightside of the field when he is a southpaw??? He looked awkward doing it more than once!!

You can say what you want but BV has got to get somebody else calling game plays period. Doesn’t mean he has to ditch Lebby but has got to get someone else on the staff up in the booth. It’s been a season and a half. It’s not going to change. Lebby is never going to put this team in a place for success in tough games. This is the big 12. Think if we were playing good teams. It would still look like last year. This team is currently able to score 50 points on a bad day.

Texas fan here. After watching Oklahoma and Texas yesterday, it seems that neither belong in a Big 12 Championship. Maybe "the witch" Gundy will make it. He seems to always be able to make something out of nothing.
