Our 1st Impressions of Kerala INDIA and South Indian Breakfast (idli) | AVOID THIS KOCHI TAXI SCAM🇮🇳
Hi everyone - this is our first full morning in Kochi and we want to live as normally as possible in order to give our proper first impressions. We are trying to avoid normal touristic sights like the backwaters for now and trying to live like locals. For us, that means getting breakfast and going for the gym. We are located in Fort Kochi and for breakfast we had a traditional South Indian breakfast and it was AMAZING! We of course started with a delicious chai and coffee. And we ate idlis for the first time, trying them was delicious! Idli (or idly) have a soft and savory cake like texture but they are savory and pair nicely with the spicy sambal and cool coconut chutney. We also had upma which is a semonila mix that you bunch up and dip in the sambal and chutney. Not only was this our first time trying a South Indian breakfast but also just an Indian breakfast. In America and UK, it's not common to eat Indian food in the morning, just for dinner and potentially lunch.
After our South Indian style breakfast, we found a taxi to take us to the gym. The issue was, no taxi wanted to take us unless we did them a "favor". LOL sounds sketchy, but it wasn't. It is a form of a taxi scam but we enjoyed the experience. Even though we are trying to live like locals and learn Malayalam, we are totally gonna get scammed all the time. We will just try and learn how to get out of it.
After our mini rickshaw scam, we found the ONLY open gym on a Sunday. Pete's Fitness Factory!! The gym was cool, it was our first time ever in an Indian gym and the India and exercise gym experience was something worth remembering. We though we got a decent deal out of it, but please comment below what we should pay!

ഞങ്ങളുടെ മിനി റിക്ഷാ കുംഭകോണത്തിന് ശേഷം, ഞങ്ങൾ ഒരു ഞായറാഴ്ച തുറന്ന ജിം കണ്ടെത്തി. പീറ്റിൻ്റെ ഫിറ്റ്നസ് ഫാക്ടറി!! ജിം തണുത്തതായിരുന്നു, ഞങ്ങൾ ആദ്യമായി ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ ജിമ്മിൽ പോയിരുന്നു, ഇന്ത്യയും വ്യായാമ ജിമ്മിലെ അനുഭവവും ഓർക്കേണ്ട ഒന്നായിരുന്നു. ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് അതിൽ നിന്ന് മാന്യമായ ഒരു ഇടപാട് ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും, ഞങ്ങൾ എന്ത് നൽകണമെന്ന് ദയവായി ചുവടെ കമൻ്റ് ചെയ്യുക!
