Well I do hope you find Bulgaria as beautiful as Cornwall and that the quality of life is kind to you, sadly Cornwall is increasingly over-crowded and noisy unless you are wealthy and can afford the near impossible cost of property in the more desirable parts.
Nice and cosy. Been thinking of doing the same in Bulgaria. Which broader region are you guys in? Have you noticed whether down in South East Bulgaria near the Turkish borders whether the winter is much milder and can grow crops all year round? Or its more or less one season for growing crops in all of Bulgaria?
Hi there! We are in central Bulgaria - the Rose Valley. We also have a house near to the Turkish border. It’s a little bit milder though, but the winters can still be severe. Cabbages grow all year round! Or rather they grow in the cold, 😊
You can have three cultivations/harvests per year in Bulgaria if you have the water during the summer and you use fertiliser. You'll have to mix up the plants of course but it's doable to optimise it for three. Unfortunately I don't know the exact terms in English to translate "интензивно сеитбообръщение", it's basically the optimal intensive use of the soil by planting something I'd translate as : -pre-culture - like beans, peas and other winter plants to your main culture. - second culture - planted after the main culture and harvested at the beginning of the autumn, such as cabbage 😉, sunflowers, tomatoes and so on. This is where the availability of water is important because it can be an issue in Bulgaria - main culture if obviously the one you harvest ~beginning of summer. There's another type of culture you can use but it's getting way too long without the proper English terms 😅, so I will stop here. You can check for further information if you decide you want to do something like that in Bulgaria.
Hello! Nice to talk to you! Yes we do. We actually have three - we also own an apartment which we rent Because we are five dogs, it’s really helpful to have somewhere we can take them all as it’s difficult to have a holiday and expensive to pay for pet sitters so having the extra property is great because it’s got a huge garden and they love it. All three properties cost less than one small Property in England 😊💕
@@Escapetoasimplerplaceandtime wow youve done so well to buy 3 and restore them, actually I looked to buy in Bulgaria a few years ago but thought it might e too far to travel from the UK as I still work here, ive since bought in Hungary which is closer, as cheap, but the weather is better in Bulgaria
@@hungariancottageadventure77 Hungary is lovely - we’ve been there a few times and I really like it. We worked in the UK for nine years after buying our first property here - we used to come over twice a year for two weeks at a time and do one week renovations and one week holiday! We didn’t find travelling to Sofia from London, too bad - around about two hours. And we made sure to buy under two hours from the airport at the other end - so we could do the full journey from Cornwall to our home here in about 12 hours. 😊🥰

Hi there! Sorry, I haven’t replied to this sooner - I’ve only just seen it! We bought them from a very nice store over here called Ako. It’s quite an upmarket store and they weren’t cheap - however - you could’ve virtually any design you wanted! There were literally hundreds - I was really spoilt for choice, but I’m glad I bought the ones I did. 😊🥰

@calidac7459 no problem - anytime - it’s quite easy to buy a property over here to be honest - getting a permit is more difficult. That’s the thing you need to look into - you are allowed to stay for 90 days per year without a permit. This is what we did for 10 years before taking early retirement over here. we used to come over twice a year for two weeks - one week DIY one week holiday. unfortunately, Brexit has made the permit problem - or I should say Visa - more difficult unfortunately, but you don’t need a Visa to buy a property what you have to do is to open up and open quotes company“ if it’s a house with Land or if it’s an apartment you don’t need a company. The company is nonprofitmaking it’s simply because non-residence can’t purchase Land here, so the company buys the land and you own the company - a solicitor would be able to set you a company up in a day or so 😊🥰
No another €20,000 - but the main part of that went on the beautiful wall. We built around the property - it was originally just a fence - and also the very large extension at the back. The house was perfectly habitable when we bought it.
@Uc9uE3pKsS6uQ ours Is a gypsy village 😃 we have had property there John for 15 years and never had a single problem. On the contrary we have found the Roma population friendly, helpful, and very nice people. Having said that, there are many villages where there are very few Roma it certainly isn’t predominantly populated by Rona 😊

There are no attached houses in Bulgaria 😂😂😂 by law your house has to be built at least 3 meters away from all of your neighbours! So for Bulgarian 🇧🇬 standards detached sounds funny 😊

@@Escapetoasimplerplaceandtime unfortunately most of the Bulgarian emigrants escaped due to economical reasons related mostly with the big corruption which is ruining every part of the country but all of us keep Bulgaria 🇧🇬 in our hearts at least majority making plans to go back home - we for example didn’t buy house in uk even if we got this opportunity you can see what we’ve got in Bulgaria why should we spend a fortune for something not even a half quality then what we can buy in our country not to mention the space that comes with the house and the garden we think the property prices in uk are far to exaggerated 🤔
Yes absolutely they are - and this is part of the British corruption! Long story and very complex. But this is how Britain bolsters the economic system by constantly raising house prices.😃 it has got to a point now where children are no longer in her property they inherit a mortgage from their parents. It’s very sad. But not only do you have cheaper housing here - you have sunshine almost every day! You have beautiful scenery that is not overcrowded - we can’t even go for a walk in England very far as there are fences everywhere because people own land and won’t let you walk over it. the weather is awful! And the food is also expensive and full of chemicals - people do not have gardens because Land is too expensive - the food here is much cleaner and healthier - my allergies have completely cleared up from moving here - I have them from being 17 to 55 and they have no cleared up because I moved your country! I think that says a lot. life is wonderful.💜🥰
