The problem in the north is a regional problem best dealt with regionally but most importantly the constitunal problem is holding the entire country down including the north. It is theregore better to deal with our common problem first while allowing the various regions to deal with their own peculiar problem. We must stop deceiving ourselves, the problem of the north, is related to their religion . Indeed it is better suited to be dealt with by people who owns and understand the religion. It is inappropriate to ask a southern christian to go up north to solve an islamic problem. It is the constitution that allow these politicians to exhibit their obnoxious atitude. If we have the correct constitution, it will curtail the excesses of these politicians.
The problem with Nigeria is the constitution and the presidential system of government. If we change the system of government and constitution and go back to regional government, there will be peace and rapid economic growth in Nigeria. Building roads and bridges, railway is 10 per cent compared with human development. Human development comprises security, food, jobs, shelters (houses), roads (including residential areas), clean environment, education, heath care, water and transportation. All the above nothing to write home about in Nigeria today. It is very sad. If you look at some vehicles (private buses) Nigerian citizens get on to move from one point to another, you would burst into tears not to talk about children on okarda bike. Very unpleasant environments, at times one wonder where they picked some governors from, from gutters?. Please, go back to parliamentary system of government, regional government. Lagos State at least should have eight thousand buses running different routes in Lagos. What a shame. Hardly, you see good residential roads. 90% of the residential roads are dirty and dusty.
Tinubu has made it clear that he's interested in economic restructuring first, not national geographical, political, and constitutional restructured. It's important that Southeast pay more attention to resource control under Tinubu administration, which is only leverage it has.
We are using a Military produced constitution which was not properly debated n doctored. So Nigeria is suffering. Some Northern elites even from the south maybe uncomfortable becos the are feeding fat from the current state of things
I agree with her..let our constitution reflect the better way of good leadership then we can on the characters who run our system, the problem now is both the constitution and people who run the system are faulty, if the constitution is not faulty there will not be allowed for corrupt people running the country.

Sir Charles was right on the money! Constitution is NOT Nigeria's problem, but those people who operate it. For example, look at the United States which is a beacon of democracy when someone other than Trump and the insurrectionists are not flouting the constitution and getting away with it in their compromised Supreme Court. The only things we need to change in the constitution, if at all, are the immunity of the president and governors, appointments of high-ranking INEC officials, a change to a unicameral and part-time legislature. Legislooters should be paid as part-time civil servants. No housing or vehicle allowances. The allowances haven't made them better legislators.

You can't compare what Nigeria was in 2003 when this woman was appointed by Obasanjo to today's Nigeria. At that time, the National assembly summons the president and ask him questions. The oputa panel of 2001 summoned Obasanjo and mandated him to appear and he did. Truth be told Nigeria under Apc a lot of things unheard of previously began to manifest. Ekwesilesi never saw the urgent need to restructure when she was serving in government, but now is the time to pull down the wall and make restructuring happen immediately. This is what people like her do when they are not in power. I also learnt about her rebellion to disrespect our new national anthem. That is the new law, and as long as she is in Nigeria, she must respect the national anthem.

Do you think anybody anywhere un the world wants to obey any law? The only reason why people obey laws is because it's punitive. The reason why absurd things happen in Nigeria is because there are no consequences for people's action. Come to Canada and drive against traffic just once and you must pay more than 300,000 Naira for your action. And nobody need to catch you or arrest you doing that. Just go to the road and drive against traffic and within 48 hours you will get an email. Let's see if you would do it again tomorrow.
