Our oldest daughter (24)moved back home last March. She’s been gone for almost 6 years. She said she just couldn’t live anymore without her father and the family in her life. She left under not so good circumstances and just wanted to come home and patch things up. She’s so happy. It’s been a beautiful experience for all of us (Dad, Mom, and 9 children). Needless to say, I’m happy for you. Age certainly doesn’t determine our love for our children.

Moving back home would not only save money, but you also get to spend quality time at home with family. I believe moving out should not be rushed until the child is done with college and have a good paying job. I didn't move out until I was 24 years old after I was able to support myself after college.

I stayed with my parents until I got married at 30 yo. That is the norm in our culture though. Kids only move out when they get married. We are so lucky 😁

I'm 32 and still live with my parents. We normally stay with our parents until we are married or we can support ourselves financially. We are a very close Italian American family. I love being with my parents. No place I'd rather be.

I recently moved in with my 70 year old mother because she has dementia and needs a caretaker…while some days are more challenging than others, my heart is happy knowing I’m able to help and make memories with the woman who’s given me everything throughout my 36 years on earth ❤ Welcome home, Reese!

Keep the Memories you make with your precious mother forever in your heart like I did. My Mom had Alzheimer’s but I treasure the times we had together forever! The best thing you could do for her and you! Patience patience and lots of love with her…you will appreciate the times you had spent with her once she goes to be with the Lord! Much love.

I've been moving out since 18 yo, and it's been tough, for some reason and condition, I still need my parent's support, I really am independent after 5 years of moving out. in that time I have still full of lack to be independent, and that's ok bc my parent's door are always open, so if you still have parents who can be your support system like a friend who can we talk to, sharing our experience, it's called blessed. sometimes it takes time. but in my opinion, parent's home is the favorite home that can never be replaced. go on Ressee, being independent doesn't always mean living in a different place from your parent, sometimes it means you have the courage to choose to stay close to people you loved, cause you know....we only live once and I prefer to make memories with people I love as much as I can.

I don’t understand the obsessive shaming of single adults living with their parents in American culture. @@AFFTFOMSICHTS 🙂 It's because the "older/ traditional" American culture was more so that your children did move out younger...to hear that your child at 22yrs old was still at home was odd and out of realm back in the beginnings of America :) Parents expected their children to be exceptionally grown up and adult at a much younger age... expected that they did start their families of their own, start homesteading/ranching or head off to school out East! They just had their own goals and a set place in society already at a very young age. Culture here has changed alot since then though and it's alot more accepted to still be at your parent's home into your 20s, but their is still a majority depending on which state and region, that are more traditionalists :) ...it's normal in general though, for every country and certain regions of people to have their traditions and expectaions of life, :) it doesnt make one country wrong or better over the other, just make them different :) ...hope that explains why you get that vibe and feeling from the USA! :)

When my high school orchestra buses were coming back up from Disney World back in April, we stopped at Buckeye’s gas station and boy it was literally the BIGGEST GAS STATION I had ever seen! Also they made me pay to fill up my water bottle for some reason. The sea beast was a great animated movie 🎥 🍿 to watch. Glad Reese made it back safely ❤️ u guys and the fun family-based content :)
