I grew up in Oliver (next to Osoyoos), and the scenery you showed (near Cawston) had me all nostalgic! Oliver is the Wine Capital of Canada, with over 30 wineries in the one village. The South Okangan (oh can AWE gan) is well worth a visit. Canada's only hot desert!
I've always found it weird...you leave Vancouver a temperate rain forest and drive through towns like Keremeos, Oliver, Osoyoos a semi arid desert with scrub pines, vineyards. apricot and peach trees. Then the vegetation changes again moving east and changes yet again in the Rocky mountains. All in a few hours drive. Sweater on, sweater off, jacket on, windshield wipers on then off, snow then sand. What's even weirder is when I was in San Fransisco one restaurant had BC wines on the menu...Go figure?
Wow! I'm not sure if I managed to influence you two to venture to Nelson on your journey back home! But I am very stoked that you did and I hope you enjoyed your visit to my home town that I am very proud of ! I laughed when your referred to ""BOB" . Bob is our beloved town mascocot! The place where you had dinner at the brew pub is my next door neighbors place and I hope you enjoyed! I , myself really like your vlogs and will continue to watch your channel and hope to see it grow! Your editing is fantastic and your content is entertaining! Keep it up and your channel will grow!
Lol....well...I did suggest a visit to Nelson a couple of times in the past few months while watching your channel. Im about 40 min North on Kootenay Lake in Kaslo working at the moment. And am rarely in wifi/ data up here. But I was so excited when you said you were headed to Nelson! But your Nelson experience was very short! So I'm really happy you mentioned that the next vid may be a little more extensive in Nelson content. The movie "Roxanne" (Steve Martin/ Darrell Hannah) was filmed there as well as many more over the years! Picked up you learned about ( and met BOB)......
Well shucks! You live in a delightful area that's for sure! We were quite impressed with Nelson and had a number of conversations about if we'd like living in such a place.
@@chrisplusmelissa It's definitely small town living but there are numerous small cities of around 8,000 people all within close proximity due to the mountainous terrain. Elevations ranging from 500m (1,500ft) to 2,400m (8,000ft) with loads of lakes for great fishing and water sports, numerous world class ski hills, hiking trails, kayaking, etc. But it's hot in the summer ... I mean really hot ... with temps routinely in the low 40's C (110F +). Looking forward to your next adventure ... Cheers!
Awe thanks. This RU-vid thing is tough to figure out. We don't get pushed out enough it seems. We're having fun making the videos... so we'll try to just concentrate on that.
