Well this is a first- our Eastern Milksnake had eggs!! They may not be the prettiest snakes (although I think they're gorgeous in their own way!), but they make excellent pets! I can't wait to show you how adorable these babies are going to be!
Our first-ever leachianus gecko eggs hatched!! We're so excited! These cuties are ADORABLE!!

It seems as if our reverse psychology has worked! Yes, the truth is that Eastern milksnakes are SUPER pretty! I'm so glad you all see it too! 😍 I love these little guys. They're honestly such an underrated species. ❤ I was worried y'all would think they were boring, so explaining why they weren't popular was my plan to help get them the love they deserve. Either it worked, or I didn't even have to do that to get you on board! 😅

I think they're very neat and who doesn't enjoy a pet snake with a good size for smaller keepers that eat well and have great tolerance for handling and just hanging out? And who knows; maybe there are albino and melanistic color variants just waiting to be discovered? Either way I love their smaller size 😍 native species always deserve the love 🫶

@@thepurpledusk3381 I really do love their pattern! I don't think the brown is 'boring' but I also think nobody will ever find the hets if nobody ever breeds them. Honestly, this is the first 'wild type' that I really like and even though the wilds are lovely, it makes me excited to think about the eventual rainbow and pattern morphs this species may have BECAUSE the standard is already SO high.

I think they're gorgeous as well. I'm actually a little surprised they keep calling them boring and not pretty. I love the different shades of brown and patterns. Animals don't need to be flashy colors to be pretty in my opinion ... lots of beauty in browns and black tones.

wild-type colouring may not be terribly eye-catching, but it's still very endearing in its own right. I'm personally fond of the blotches down the back, reminds me of eastern massassauga rattlesnake saddles :)

These are my favorite! As a native Wisconsin resident, to me these are the best snakes to find out in the wild. I love their personalities! And as babies they are quite red, so I hope these hatch and we get to see!

Eastern Milksnakes are awesome.. However, we had feeding issues for a long time.. But, when we moved her into a 40 gallon with lots of hides and wood and a lot more to do, she completely changed.. She eats great, now and has become so much friendlier..

alex has a ton of experience. he's been working with reptiles since he was a fetus. he is one of the only reasons information about proper care for chinese water dragons is available now. he also successfully bred them for a while.

Yay first egg video of the season!! Good job Chicken Wing (an absolutely adorable name)! I remember when the eastern milks were introduced to the channel Ed and Emily didn’t know who’d want them because they’re “ugly” and “boring” but I think Chicken Wing has the opportunity to become one of the favorites on the channel! I love her little half-way up stance when they took the eggs.

A few years back we had a juvenile eastern milksnake come into our basement lab at work (in early July). It was just as brown, and I initially thought it was a curled cardboard scrap. Not the specimen we work with at the hospital! We got the baby back outside.

True! I have a subadult ball python and a baby hognose, it was insane how tiny the baby hognose is, even compared to a baby ball python. Definitely a selling point.

When I was kid in Maine, we had a white and pink milk snake who lived in our barn. That was close to 60 years ago and I didn't realize how special that snake was, it was just the one who took care of rodents in the barn.

Not gonna lie, I think they are gorgeous despite you guys saying they are boring brown. Sure, the colorful stuff is great too, but it's so fun to see the variations of even normal brown snakes. It's was pretty how the male in certain angles looked like he was glowing in certain areas because of the variation of the darker to the lighter brown. They were so cute and curious.

Most people don't know that chicken eggs are very soft while inside the chicken and after they're laid, harden up quickly. I imagine most egg bearing animals keep soft eggs inside them that quickly harden after hitting the air.

One of my mom co-workers one day actually made a case that nutella is a full very healthy food group by itself. The way she explained was: you had hazelnuts which are healthy for you and are protein, then you have sugar which is made from sugar cane , then the chocolate which is cacao which is a fruit also and finally milk which is dairy. so you have your fruits, your proteins and your dairy in one very delicious jar.

They're so pretty!! Ours look like coral snakes, so you have to be extra careful about what you get. "Red touch black - you're okay Jack; red touch yellow - you're a de@d fellow." If I lived on my own, I'd 100% get me one of your brown milk snakes!

I think they look lovely! Brown is often an underated color. I personally perfer normal African Fat-tail geckos because I love that brown color. I hope to get one some day. Don't say no one will want these because they do look different from other milk snakes. Someone will want that.

Those milk snakes are good snakes.Years ago one of my neighbors thought they were copperhead and wanted to kill them but I showed him what a copperhead looked like so he didn't kill the the milk snakes.

When I was a teenager I found a huge adult of these in my grandparents bacement eating a mouse and I kept finding the same one down there for about a year it was so chill and beautiful
