You guys are the most genuine, non-judgemental people on youtube! love your vlogs, the guy reminds me of Anthony Bourdain who loved Vietnam and the Vietnamese community was heart broken when he took his own life !
Soy milk in Vietnam is very good and fresh. Unlike soybeans in U.S. normally GMO but not Vietnam , so drink while you’re there. I see people made it. It very hard work.
Love it when the lady tapped you on the shoulder, without saying anything, she point and you helped her put up the light. Love it. Bu bo hue is my fav. I also like bun moc and bun rieu. I also like heui tieu.
I'm in Da Lat with my girlfriend now and your 3 part series on the area has been amazing! Thanks so much! Night Market for street eats and 'stairway to heaven' has been other cool stuff to do in Da Lat but this city really is a gem, thanks for inspiring this part of our trip x ps- we were in Dun Loc earlier and they were playing this vid whilst we were eating...no joke...
I am planning a trip to Vietnam and Cambodia this year and your videos are seriously becoming my Bible 🤣 Since you guys love Salat so much, I just wondered where you stay? I saw the recommendation for the place and Siem reap and are gonna stay there too! Love from Australia 🇦🇺 Can't wait to binge watch your videos over and over again 💕
Awesome! What make your videos so much different than other channel's videos is the informations you give to viewers very deep and informative. You guys take time to do research about some foods or some locations, like you really did your homework carefully if it makes any sense haha sr for my bad english. Love the way you guys always put tons of spicy chillies into your bowls :D
As an American expat living in Vietnam, and enjoying Vietnamese cuisine daily, I sometimes crave food from home. Pizza Cui, a small family run business in Dalat, has a brick oven and cook their pies over a wood fire in there. It's not a Chicago or Brooklyn pizza or even as good as an Italian restaurant at home in Denver, but for Vietnam it's really good. Thanks again for posting these videos.
Rich Hughes Colorado reminds me a lot of Da Lat. Really miss incredible trips in Da Lat when I was a kid! I found similarities between Evergreen Lake in CO and Xuan Huong Lake in Da Lat, so I have a walk there sometime.
@@MinhNguyen-ff6xf That's right. I lived for 20 years in Nederland west of Boulder in the mountains not very far north of Evergreen. DaLat reminds me of home.
I'm predominantly a solo traveler and have, on occassion, traveled with companion(s). I would love to see a video on how you both approach and difuse the natural friction that arises. Much Love.
I don’t know if you guys still monitor your videos, but I’ve been watching for years, and finally made it to Vietnam. I’m currently seated at Nem Nuong Dung Loc, eating my first meal in Dalat. Not surprisingly, they remember you!😂
You're making my mouth water! We're still active with the account but haven't released a video in a while due to covid and just life in general. We have a lot in the vault so stay tuned! Safe travels through the rest of Vietnam. I (Rafael) was just there in September and revisited a lot of my favorite spots. There's something special about that country and it's people...😍🇻🇳
@@IntAffair I completely agree. I’ll be checking out the rest of your recommendations here in Dalat, then moving on to DaNang. I’m looking forward to seeing your new content. Good luck!
I can see the passion for the food being presented in your videos by the details of your description for each dish. Makes me miss home so much! Thanks for these great vlogs and if you happen to be in Seattle, I would love to be your Seattle Vietnamese food recommendations!!
Jen and Rafael, after a fun morning at Datanla Waterfall, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Nem Nướng Dũng Lộc. Yummy! Thank you for the recommendation. How do you find these wonderful, tucked away eateries? What is your secret? Thanks for all your informative videos. As we travel around SEA, your advice is the first we pay attention to. Keep the videos coming, please.
Thanks Laurie, that's great to hear 😃😍It's a combination of understanding the food, paying attention to the locals and hit or miss visits to different eateries. We're transitioning out of SE Asia soon and headed to a very very beautiful country that we're excited to share...hope you check out the videos we'll be releasing in the next few months!
Literally just went to eat Nem Nuong, (2 hours ago) it was so tasty, my first time to eat this. And I live in Vietnam. Thank for the recommendation. And for the Datanla ‘rollercoaster’ to the bottom of the waterfall. It was fun
Hunted Nam Nuong dung loc down today to find it has moved about 50m down the road . We ordered Nam Nuong and really enjoyed it! Thanks for the recommendation !
The processed beef ball is Bo Vien which is just a beef ball. Usually minced and needed beef meat. It's simple to nem nuong in technique and process but with beef.
Hello fellow Americans! Would you be able to please add the recommendations from the video into the description or comments below? We are visiting for a few days! Your videos are fantastic and look forward to watching more. Hoi An is next!
So I have a breakfast spot for you. Bun rieu Hoa at Tran Quy Cap street. Please make sure to go there before 8am in the morning or the place will close. Right aound the Bun Rieu Place there's another steam rice rolls place call "Bánh Cuốn Ông Sĩ" also a good dish if you missed the Bún Riêu. Enjoy!
Hi guys, i'm your new fan here. But still as a traveler from HCM to Dalat several times and eating, im suggesting Bún bò Huế next time you try it at "Bún Bò Huế Công Dalat" - search it on gg - im sure its better base on broth color i saw on this video. Further more you should notes some like - Nem nướng Bà Hùng on 3 Tháng 2 Street for best on Dalat :) - Bánh Canh Xuân An search this careful (some store copied brand name lol ) on GG or foodies - Bánh Căn ( special dish of Dalat ) real good - Bánh ướt lòng gà ( special dish of Dalat also) + For lunch: - Check out "Cơm Lá Chuối" and "Cơm ngày ba bữa" - trans as Banana Leaf Rice & The daily 3 rice meals i believed | They served the best local VN dishes differently every single days with good prices - And the one you guys called it pizza is Bánh Tráng Nướng ( basiclly translate as Grilled Rice Cake ), note try this at a store at 61 Nguyễn Văn Trỗi , its a 20 years old store with an old funny lady at selling it a.k.a "Bà điên"/"Bà chảnh" which you can found lots on gg "banh trang ba dien da lat" - trans as "Mad lady"/"Snobby lady", cause her special personality, just always be nice and dont call her like that you will be fine xD. Really crowed and delicious, recommended order 3-4 pcs for 2 ppl. Oh if you didnt see her there dats mean she off selling dat day ( she selling mostly at weekends and off as she want to so based luck sometimes LOL ) Thats all i reminded me for now, wish you come back soon and try it LOL.
Sorry to inform that your favorite nem nuong restaurant has apparently closed. There is one with the same name nearby, but it looks completely different. How to tell if it's owned by the same people?
6:54 that noodle dish is called "Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang" in Vietnamese. Nam Vang is Nom Penh (capital city of Cambodia) in Vietnamese. Now you know where the influence of that dish came from.
it nothing ralate cambodia here, just Chinese living in phnonphenh created it, in Nguyen Dynasty Cambodia belong to Vietnam so their capital name be called " Namvang" in Vietnamese , khmer itselves dont have any "hu tieu" some kind of noodle like that
@@duongminh2904 You have no idea what you talked about. The Cambodia hu tieu has seafood and local ingredients none found in the Chinese version, hence, the Cambodia's take on the Chinese hu tiu. Yet, it's still a big influence from Cambodia.
You're going to love them! Not sure exact count over the years but here's a video that we made which may help you get a better understanding of how we would structure our days based on week(s) stay in Vietnam: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T3VDNavjqlM.html Hope it helps 😃
Thanks for the tips. Just eaten the rice paper pork dish. Wow. Delicious. If you guys liked the small town vibe in Da Lat, you might like to check out Olomouc in the Czech Republic.
I like how you guys explain the kind of noodles you eat.. great! makes me drool! you are right about the chinese ruling viet nam..Not a little bit! Now most of the chinese think of the vietnamese as chinese themselves somehow but lower in status.
Thanks Cye! It took us about a year and half to get to 2k subscribers. Keep in mind that we have never paid for subs so that number is purely organic growth. Takes a lot of patience and perseverance but working hard can get you there. Good luck!
Ok, I saw the couple I was thinking about again tonight. If you are still here and were walking in Phuong 2 tonight around 6pm then I saw you, otherwise I just saw another couple where the guy was tall, had about 3 weeks worth of a beard and was wearing a baseball hat and the girl looks short next to him but might not be that short. I didn't want to stare so I am still not sure if it was you guys or not.
I think you put a wrong chilies in Pho, it's support to be chilies sauce. But darn that 's too much chilies in your spring roll ...lol Should have put the chilies in peanut sauce instead unless you're a spicy type.
I am sorry but have to correct you about the sauce for new nuong. There are no peanut and hoisin sauce in it. I just don’t want people to receive wrong info and are afraid to try the food because of allergic.
Hey Hailey! There's definitely peanuts in the peanut sauce (you can see small pieces of them in the video). We appreciate the thoughtfulness towards people with allergies though 😉
Bro i been there in 2017 !!! Man viatnam is my favourite country for retirement!! People r nice n natural beauty n offcourse delicious food !!! But I'm only 28 so i have to wait !!! 🤪🤪
You guys do such a spectacular job of butchering the Vietnamese language. LOL! Okay, a bit of help here. Remember to switch the t and th sounds and vice versa. So if you see a t say "th" and when you see "th" then say it with a hard t. For the word "bun" say "bune" or "boon" and for "bo" say "boh" (sort of like saying "ball" but kind of let the l sound at the end fall off).
Usually the way we eat we put chillis directly into the sauce not put it in the roll. You can eat however you like but try it you will see the sauce is so much better :)
Thumb up for being able to eat pig blood. It's not exactly delicious, kinda bland but It doesn't taste scary as it looks. Edit: as far as hot soy milk is concerned, I have heard that since it's cold there, people like to drink something hot and tasty and soy milk fits the bill. Hot tea is also hot but it's not exactly tasty 😀
Always fun being back! Each time we go there is a different feeling/experience/lesson. Glad we've had the chance to go twice and really thankful to all the amazing Vietnamese people we've encountered along the way 😃
